And absolutely use a porter when you return. The porter line for customs saved us about 30-45 minutes. Then the porter waits for you in a designated area before you exit the parking garage and helps you load your car.

I'm posting in green because of my envy!! Just got off the Anthem on the 26th, from a 9 nighter and it was a near to perfect as it could be!
My kids are 24 and 20, but our table mates had a 4 year old and a 7 year old and they raved about the kids club. The kids seemed to be having an amazing time.
Hope its perfect!!

We made reservations for shows through cruise planner. Do we have to go to box office to pick up tickets or do they print out from your e documents.
Just show up. They just scan your sea pass card on their tablet and it will confirm your reservation. There was usually a line of stand by people waiting to see if there was space available, so don't mistakenly get in that line. Just go up to the crew member with the tablet.

That looks awesome!! Anthem's is no where near that elaborate.

Is there a charge on the Anthem for the Royal Mystery? Can you prebook?
no charge and no prebooking. They don't limit the number of people. No one was at the entrance to 270 or counting heads.

We did it last week. It was fun (and free). Absolutely book it on the app, the minute you get on board. It will be completely filled before sail away.
We also did a Royal Mystery, which they described as an escape room without the room. It was in 270 and a lot of fun.

I was on the same cruise, in 6246 and our mattress was pretty hard as well. I had no idea we could ask for a mattress topper until I returned home. Didn't affect our amazing time. Hope your trip was awesome too!

We are sailing on the Anthem on June 14th . I booked the cruise about 10 months ago and since the time you could book activities the IFly and Northstar have shown to be unavailable and to book on ship. Does anyone know the procedure for scheduling once on board and how hard will it be to get reservations? There will only be two of us. Thanks in advance!

I was on the Anthem last week. (its amazing!!) Download the Royal IQ app as soon as you get on board. You will be able to book them. We changed our reservation times during the week without trouble. When we arrived for the Northstar, they actually waited to see if people without reservations would walk up. I also heard that its sometimes possible to walk up to Northstar on embarkation day. We were going to try that but the weather was a bit foggy. There were a couple of walk ins at IFly as well.
You'll be fine getting reservations for those, but if you want to do the escape room, reserve that the minute you get on board. I went on the app at 2pm on embarkation day and the only time slot available was 10:30 on the last day of our 9 day cruise. It books up fast.
Have a great cruise! We LOVED the Anthem!!

Making reservations for 6 for North Star. Can't decide whether to do on sea day or while in Halifax. Wondering if any downsides or upsides for either. Thanks for any info!
I would do it in Halifax. Such a cool place, but especially with the Citadel. I actually have it booked (for my upcoming cruise) on a sea day and after reading so many reviews, am going to try to do it on embarkation day. Everyone seems to say its so much better in port.

ok so maybe I should leave the selfie stick at home after reading these wonderful comments.........
Take your selfie stick. Have a wonderful cruise.

Just off the Harmony of the Seas, sailed April 28th through May 5th in the Western Caribbean. This was the first time I have done this Zipline and did it with my daughter and her best friend. Had to post this video that I just put together, really an awesome experience and worth the cost.

So awesome!! We are going to be there next week and were wondering what you attached your Go-Pro to?
Thx

They aren’t necessarily soda drinkers. We never have it in the house so that’s where the over thinking comes in to play.
I think ordering one or two throughout the trip seems like a better option.
We are on Adventure out of NJ and have a lot of days at sea so I think that’s why I keep overthinking.
I’ve read that a lot about the arcade so thank you for telling me that.
My kids aren't real soda drinkers either, but I get them the soda package if the ship has a freestyle machine. In addition to flavoring up an occasional soda, They enjoy the different flavor powerades and flavored waters. They like having access to it all the time. Having said that, I only had to pay for 2, not 3. I also like paying for whatever I can up front, so that factors into my decision.
I loved the Adventure! Have a great cruise!!

Thank you for the great review! Sailing on her in a few weeks. Do you know if there were any cases of norovirus on this sailing or was it contained to the prior sailing?

We signed up for this excursion for our July cruise...and I'm curious about what to expect. Couldn't find much information about it.
I am going in May, so I'll let you know how it is when I get back

Have you checked the San Juan forum: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=131
Yep, no luck

The last time we were in San Juan, we stayed primarily in Old San Juan. This excursion looks like it has a good mix of things to do, but I can't find any reviews on it.

Would like past feedback of best things to do in Bar Harbor, Portland, and Nova Scotia. Any historical experience on private tours versus Ship tours. Best places to see that are hidden gems
TIA
When my son and I did this route, we went on the Horse drawn carriage tour from Iris Farms, in Bar Harbor. It was awesome. The carriage was very large. Probably sat a couple of dozen people. We booked it directly and it picked us up very close to where we arrived by tender. If you have any interest in this tour, I would recommend booking it in advance.
In Portland, we went on the ship's tour to kennebunkport - highly recommend, Then we went on the open air Firetruck city tour (booked on our own), in the afternoon It was a unique way to tour and learn about the city and its history.
In Nova Scotia we did the Segway tour of the city. We booked that on our own too. It was a lot of fun, but definitely challenging rolling through the city and up to the citidel.
Hope you have a great time whatever you choose to do.

I don't get it. You seem to prefer Carnival but you've booked with RC? Do you want someone to convince you to go on a cruise that you are already convinced will disappoint you? Any cruise is what you make of it. I wouldn't book a cruise if I had doubts about it living up to my expectations or already knew I would be missing something that seems to be important to you. We've gone on different lines, although it's been years since we've been on Carnival but there are people that find a line they prefer and stick with it. Nothing wrong with that and if you prefer Carnival, feel you are going to be longing for Guy's Burgers every day, you're not going to find it on any RC ship and might be setting yourself up for disappointment.
Well said!

Hi all! I am racking my brain trying to figure out what to do with the family after our Freedom of the Seas cruise in a few weeks. To save about $1500 on airfare we booked a 9pm from FLL back to ORD on Sunday, May 6th. I will have my wife and three kids to keep entertained all day. Renting a car is an option but I am thinking hotel/beach day might prove more relaxing. Any tips or suggestions?
My friend and I were in a similar situation and used dayuse dot com to book a hotel room for the day. We had stayed at the Hyattplace 17th street prior to our cruise, so we booked a room at that one again. It was very relaxing. We sat by the pool, had lunch and a nap. Their shuttle ran us back to the airport. I would do that again in a heartbeat! Very nice way to end a vacation.

Thank you Host Clarea and MikeBTN for your replies. I will be the one sprinting to guest services once aboard the Anthem!

I know they hold a certain number of shore excursions for on board bookings. Are the Columbus Cove cabanas ever available upon boarding?
-
Ok great, and thank you...we hope to have lots of fun!
How do I find out what the emergency number is for the ship?

If they are in school, you should also send a letter to them (and copy the school nurse) notifying them who is able to pick them up and make medical decisions.

Karakter is on the Dutch side by the airport middle of the runway. It took us about 40 minutes to get there and an hour to get back. Lots of construction and single lanes slowed us down. We took a group of about 60 there and loved it.
Is it possible to get there via water taxi?

Pictures are amazing!! What kind of camera are you using?
Hope you have a great week!
Couple of questions about upcoming Anthem cruise
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I was on the Anthem a couple of weeks ago. I had Traditional Dining, but was speaking with a couple who were huge cheerleaders for My Time Dining. They didn't make any reservations, just showed up when they wanted to.
Our waiter (in Traditional Dining) told us, if we were going to be late to notify him ahead of time or send a member of our party to hold our table. Once Traditional Dining guests are 30 minutes late, their table can be made available for My Time Dining guests.
I can see how the previous poster may have felt the service was a bit better in the My Time Dining section because, although I saw our waiters doing their best to give great service to the new guests, they still were working with the timing of everyone in the sections' meals . They are professionals and do their best. I never saw anything less than great service, but I can understand how it could feel that way.
