Post 19 talks about the cabin.

Anyone know who the concierge is on the Sun? We are sailing in December.
-
Does the Sun, or NCL for that matter serve "real milk"? By that I mean the stuff you have to keep refrigerated, the fresh stuff, not Long life stuff?
If I remember correctly they have the small cartons in the morning for breakfast, not sure about lunch. I always grab a bunch for the fridge in the cabin.
-
we paid ours in full last week and the payment status changed to completed right away. although i did have to log out and log back in to see it.

Was talking with neighbors down the street and they have said that they, and others from their family up north, have cruised NCL alot in the past few years, they were telling us about something you all haven't mentioned ...
Pretzel rolls .... they say NCL is famous for them ... Guess now it's up to all of you to tell us how good they are, and seeing is believing , so, if you have some pics, please share ... thanks ....:)
Everyone raves about them so we decided to try them on the Star and thought they were just ok. We are originally from philly and used to really good soft pretzels. As we all know food is subjective so we will leave ours for those who like them...:D

Speaking of complaining, I found a youtube video of a guy and his wife who are complaining on the Getaway about their food. Prepare to cringe.
I feel bad for his other half having to put up with that for 22 years
edit: couldn't stomach listening to the whole rant, didn't realize the wife wasn't any better. sad to go through life like that.

I don't know if the suites are different with their setup, but in 8202 on the Sun there is a shower stall and a completely separate jetted tub with a shower. I liked the cabin so much I've got it booked again for January. :D
We are in 9202 in December. The pictures I have found of the cabin seem to contradict each other.... are there 2 sinks or one? Will need to prepare for the battle if there is just one....

On the NCL SUN look for the wine display table in the atrium close to the
elevators opposite of the Registration Desk.
Another display is offered topside on the Lido deck outdoor area near the
swimming pool.
Make your wine selection and show your stateroom card which will be use to
debit your on board account - you will be given a small white piece of paper
with your wine selection noted for each bottle.
Take one or more of these pieces of paper to a restaurant or bar to redeem
your purchase. Whatever is not consumed is corked and made available at
your next venture be it a restaurant or bar.
Check with the point of sale as to how they handle the bottles you want in
your stateroom.
Any further questions ask the crew or check with the registration desk - it
is pretty simple straight forward and not that complicated and it sure beats
lugging bottles on board paying the corkage fee and hauling the bottles with
you to dinner lunch or whatever.
Thank you for the info, first time on the Sun, glad we know where to go now :)

I take it this is offered on all the ships? we are sailing on the Sun in December and would probably take advantage of this.
-
NCL website shows Carlos' Bake Shop on the Sun which is Buddy Valastro.
-
The 8As on deck 5 are huge and have two large porthole windows. We just booked one for our next cruise. Decided we would rather have the extra space than the balcony.
-
I totally agree with you. However, I thought maybe the moderators would move the thread because it wouldn't be directly NCL related. What do you think?
Maybe if you state in the title "A tribute to an NCL loyalist" they won't move it.

You were one of the fortunate one's that actually met Kev in person and not just here on CC. I am sure you had some good laughs. :) As far as I know, he last posted on CC on Jan 17th, although he last logged on Jan 18th. After that we know that he passed away, at home, on February 8th. Sorry but that is all of the details known at this time.
Thanks for the update. Yes, he was a lot of fun and definitely one of a kind.
-
I thought about posting something as well. I'm glad you did. RIP Kev...you will truly be missed around here. You always brought a smile and chuckle to my day and I really appreciated all the help and knowledge you have given me over the last few months to help me plan my first Bermuda cruise. You were one of a kind Kev. I will miss you dearly. :)
OMG... what happened to Kev? We partied together on this cruise?
-
Thanks for the review Kev, great meeting you and enjoying the reading. makes me wish we were back on the Star. It was a fantastic cruise.

Hey Chuck, it's great to hear from you. I posted to Cindy & Kent on their rollcall earlier, they are on the Star 2 weeks after us! We have one of the new suites on deck 12 this time, no haven on this ship. This will be the first time in about 20 years we haven't had a balcony, but it looks like a short walk to the wonderful outside!
We were in an SJ, without the balcony, the SG's were all booked. hopefully you won't have any leaks, we did.
-
loving your review, we will be on the Star this Sunday! Anything not to be missed?
Hope you enjoy the cruise. We loved the star and Monica was great if you are in a suite this time.
-
Looking at the OPs recent post, appears he didn't cancel. Maybe he was going through a rough patch when he posted and reconsidered.

We did not have to pre-pay for the beer:D. The Butler got it for us the same way as if we had already been on the ship and he just left the bill. It was a surprise for my DH.
That's great news, thanks.
-
Every request was filled. There were 2 buckets of beer waiting in the room for dh. Not a feather in sight, the fridge was empited, my bar set up mixers in the fridge, champagne on ice, and the reservation change from Le Bistro to Moderno's at 7:30 (unavailable online or through NCL pre-cruise) was all done! I tipped very well both the butler Maxi and the concierge Monica. :)
Yup, the NCL suite life rocks!
Cherie
Thanks for the update. Did you have to pre-pay for the buckets of beer? I assume I would have to pre-pay but thought I would ask anyway. Was thinking about ordering one but we have a good OBC to use up.

I had the same problem, waited and waited, and never heard back. I was disappointed in the customer service too. An automated response that they are backed up would have been better than no response. I understand that delays can occur, but 3 weeks is a long time. I would lose my job if I waited 3+ weeks to respond to an email.
My frustration lead me to writing to Kevin Sheehan, someone from his office contacted me within 2 days. Really didn't like having to go to the top, but I didn't like feeling ignored. They were able to resolve my problem pretty quickly.
Hope you get your issue resolved soon.

A BA isconsidered mid ship...
I'll take a stab at it...family cabin either needs to sleep up to 4 or connect. Could sleep 3 but must be able to connect. Haven't seen any up to 3 people cabins that don't connect classified as a family. Did I get it right...:D

It's been a while since we cruised NCL and really looking forward to getting back to the suite life. Do suites still get the flower arrangement? We are cruising for our anniversary and want flowers in the cabin. thanks

Great minds think alike.. We even picked the same cruise in December. :D
