Thanks for the reply, that's exactly the info I was looking for.

Hi
Does anyone know which reef, from Cairns, cruise ship excursions go to?
-
Fascinating site overall - thanks for posting [emoji3]

Halifax Clarity CC for me, no currency loading and a really good exchange rate. Consistently rated the best CC for overseas transactions.

Agreed on MIA - will never fly in to there again. Much prefer to clear immigration in ATL and then fly on to FLL. TPA is a great airport to fly out of if taking a few days post cruise on a beach.

Waterfront serviced apartments. On the same wharf as the Hilton but with huge rooms and balconies plus they're much cheaper. Fantastic.

$200 here too. They cancelled our trip that would have had us docked in Hong Kong Harbour over Chinese New Year. [emoji20][emoji20].
We were given 2 weeks to select another cruise or lose the OBC offer. We were cancelled 12 months out.

bessinfl has already outlined my thoughts in recommending those beautiful Spanish cities. Even with 2-3 days in each you won't be able to see everything. Big advantage limiting your experience to one foreign currency and one foreign language for your first trip. Leave the more distant destinations for your next trip. Trust me, there will be a next one!
There's only one currency for most of Europe and English is widely spoken, however I agree with not spreading yourself too thin. Far more relaxing to enjoy one country than being sat on inter country trains or queuing at airports.

Love to be able to advise but as a Brit I was as oiled as the Aussies [emoji12][emoji482]
Seriously though - I've only done 2 out of Australia, but no sign of any drunkenness. The bars are always busy though! Guess the Aussies can handle their liquor [emoji3]

We tried to book the Taieri Gorge trip though an independent company and found that Princess had booked all of the train cars the days the ships were in port. We were forced to book our trip through Princess.
Same on Celebrity - all cars booked by the Cruise Line, as it picks up from the port.

I stayed in the Philip Street one many years ago and it was comfortable enough. It was over a club bar, not sure if it still is, but I didn't notice much noise. It's a bit of a walk from Circular Quay, and Wentworth is further.
Have you considered the one at Wynyard? Easy walk to CQ and the metro is right next door. I stayed there in 2012 and thought it good value for money and would certainly consider staying there again - especially over the Menzies across the road, that was a real disappointment.

Which port have they removed due to 'safety reasons'?

Get to the queue very early. In March on Silhouette the queue ran from the Entertainment Court right back to the Martini Bar. I also overheard some people with tickets didn't get ashore until after 1pm - so open tenders must have been later than that.

It's easy once you have one.
On our last Caribbean cruise we saved £200 each (excluding perks) on the New Zealand cruise the year before £480 each (including perks not offered in the UK). Over 5 people that's a lot of cash.
Watch out for the exchange rate changes and always do the comparison with a low rate.
We've even booked Princess via a U.S. TA in the past without an issue.

In my experience the UK teams can occasionally go into 'computer says "No"' mode. The U.S. Teams are far more proactive. May still be worth a call.

[emoji15] Best bar at sea replaced by a shopfront for a multinational drinks supplier? Classy.
Are we going to have Mr Mac D's as a speciality restaurant next?
-
Try the Waterfront serviced apartments. They're on the dock where you board Solstice (opposite the Hilton) and are fantastic.
-
There was a large selection of craft beers in Cellar Masters on Silhouette in March.
-
We like the sun on the balcony in the afternoon so when we did that route we chose starboard.

Seems expensive to me, but as it involves the Carnival that's to be expected. I personally would not pay $6000 for an Oceanview for 14 days.
I'd also put money on that one getting chartered at some point........
-
On both the 2 occasions we went to Lahaina we tendered onto Wharf Street, a minute walk from Front Street.
-
I might have waited for the next ship. Disney? All those children.............[emoji6]

Not meaning to be snarky, but it really doesn't matter if others did or did not have a smooth ride when sailing in those rooms. What matters is how those rooms are vis a vis motion when the seas were rough. I am very sensitive to motion and have sailed in those rooms several times. IF the seas are rocky, cabins very far forward or very far aft are most affected. Significantly worse? Not usually but in very bad seas even a little bit helps. If you are an experienced cruiser, think about how you may have felt in rough seas up in the theater or the bar upfront. That is how those rooms will feel.
Absolutely a fair and good point.
On smooth seas they are fine, on rougher seas occupants will feel the same motion as other cabins at the extremities of the ship. They are a 2C for a reason. I've been fortunate in having smooth seas when I've sailed in them.

Same here. Not added, but an email (plus a follow up email a few weeks later) got them added. They even called me to apologise and confirm they'd been added.
