  1. 6302 is across the hall so not sure exactly what is below it. We didnt spend a ton of time on the balcony but the time we did we didnt notice smoking though that may have been because it seemed like folks spent time out there in the evenings/nights.

  2. Our last cruise and upcoming cruise were booked as guarantees. Our last was on Reflection and we booked a veranda gty and were assigned deck 7 after a week or two I think, but don’t remember exactly which because we did a move up bid and got it (this was toward the tale end of the covid restrictions and the ship was only 2/3rd full). We ended up with a Sunset veranda which was fantastic.

For our upcoming cruise on Ascent we booked a veranda gty. I think we were assigned about 2 weeks later. We got one of the deluxe porthole verandas on deck 6. Initially we were in the front of the ship but I was able to move us to one of the ones in the back since we prefer the back to the front. Just a personal preference, no particular reason.

We just booked DPV # 6302, literally the far aft right above Eden.

Does anyone of you know if there's view obstruction in that room and I wonder if it's noisy being so close to Eden?

Can’t say just yet but we board in 2 1/2 weeks and will be across the hall. We are curious about this as well.

I think we may be kindred spirits. We cruise in three weeks and he was just asking last night what islands we are going to. I have had the bulk of things planned for a while now and even keep several spreadsheets pages with a variety of info. Havent gotten in trouble yet, but he does joke that if you ever have limited time somewhere, call me cause I can really pack in a lot in a short period of time.

  5. Except you are thinking like an adult with this. For a kid being on a huge ship can be the adventure. Having ice cream at lunch and dinner everyday is the fun. Spending all day in the pool is exciting. Go to new places can be fun. Not being in school can be the best. Sometimes with kids it isnt the big exciting things that matter most. My daughter has just as much fun at the giant indoor playground filled with other kids as she does on the small neighbor playground with just us.

PS This of course isnt every kid but hopefully my point stands on its own without that.

  6. I worked in the kids program on Celebrity and one of the big upsides is exactly what someone else mentioned. With fewer kids, we could really tailor the program to the individual. Especially for younger kids there is plenty to do in the kids program. For older kids who might not want to join in the kids program there is also the opportunity to let them practice a little independence in a relatively safe environment (with proper ground rules and boundaries established and depending on the kid, regular check ins).

The vote is basically meaningless since the same exact food can be ordered at any of the four restaurants and they are all fairly similar in design.  The service will be dependent on the wait staff.

Wow…I wasnt looking for a scientific answer. Just curious if people had a favorite. People pick favorites for all kinds of reasons. I mean it drew you in enough to comment…

  8. I have heard a mixtures of experiences on here about the pool deck and ability to find a chair. We all know the chair hogs love the best chairs and will get out of bed at 3am (only kidding…kinda) to snag them. Not so much interested in discussing them. Others have mentioned always being able to find a chair. I am wondering if there are spots further away from the pool, maybe the next level up that are still in the sun? Also aware that any experience mentioned here is likely not to be repeated just thinking it about since we are less than three weeks from boarding and vacation.
