I agree with the previous posts regarding winery’s in the Napa and Sonoma areas. I’d avoid that area for now. Maybe find a different tour that includes Muir Woods but avoids the wine country. If you’d like to visit some wineries consider going east to the Livermore Valley. If I remember, there are at least 5 or more just on South Livermore Ave./Tesla Road alone. I remember seeing Wente Vineyards, Concannon Vineyard, Steven Kent Winery, etc.

Livermore has 50 plus wineries. Here is the wine growers association web site. http://www.lvwine.org It list all the wineries and their hours of tasting.
Hope this helps.

We use Ambassador Limo service for transportation to the Pier 27 from Livermore (South of Danville). It is a private black car service. They are always on time for pick up and comparable in price to other car services.
They are located in Livermore, here is their website

Just logged into my account on Celebrity. It has a new look and I now have a dashboard (I don't think I had that before). Nice look, but had a little glitch trying to go back to another reservation. :)
We also see the new look. So far, thumbs up.

The outline in the photo is very interesting, especially the bow.
If history repeats, the outline should be a good representation of the overall outline of the ship, as the Solstice class looks very much like the outline shown at the initial steel cutting ceremony.
We are excited to hear more details as they are released.

We just returned from the October eastbound sailing. Weather was warm but we expected that.
Here is a link to some of our photos we took.

Thanks so much for posting these! I was sailing right along next to you and should return the favor although I took much fewer pictures of your ship than you took of ours.
If you have any of the Infinity going through the locks that would be great.

Hello,
We recently sailed Celebrity Infinity through the Panama Canal (Oct 7 - Oct 23, 2016).
The Nieuw Amsterdam was with us for much of the trip so we thought we'd post a link to some of the photos we took of her during the cruise.
Hope you enjoy them. :)

We did this a couple of years ago. It was a fun time. The ride itself was about 30 minutes with 2 people per camel. it is about a mile loop along the beach and sand dunes. Then it is a short walk thru some cactus with some history about them. Lunch was very good as was the tequila tasting.

This is what the area looks like...
The area looks very nice.

There is free street parking in the area of the cruise terminal on Sundays only, so if your BVE is that day it makes it very cheap to park. Any other day your best bet is one of the lots near the cruise terminal that has daily rates.

Here are some pics we took of Infinity in San Francisco as well:

There are no hotels in San Francisco that offer a park and cruise package. Most hotels charge $40-50 per night parking for hotel guests.
The best parking option is to reserve a spot at on of the parking lots near the cruise terminal.
Below is the link to the SF port cruise parking.

My question is when disembarking how easy was it to get back to the terminal to pick up passenger and luggage after picking up the car at 55 Francisco. How far do you need go down The Embarcadero before you can make a u-turn to get back to pier 27?
Thanks -- Sue
It is very easy to get back to Pier 27 from the parking garage.
Turn right on Francisco when you exit the garage
Turn right on Montgomery
Turn left on Lombard
Turn left on Embarcadero
Turn right into Pier 27.
No U-turn needed.

Hi, wondering if anyone can give some advice. We are coming from England in early October to join celebrity cruise to Panama. We are hoping to have a couple of days pre cruise in SF and are looking at hotels which all seem to be quite expensive for those dates. Not sure if we should wait a bit to book and if prices might come down a bit?
Also what area is best to stay in,fishermans pier or union square?
How far is the cruise port away from the city?
Sorry so many question! Thanks for any help
If you are on the Oct 7th Infinity come join the roll call.

If you are on this cruise note the hotel rooms will be in short supply as there is a huge software convention in town that week. Expect 100,000 plus people, so do not expect prices to drop. Google SalesForce.com DreamForce.

As a hotel guest you can wander the halls and decks at night. Just be mindful of Casper and his friends.
We have spent the night and it was a great experience. We stayed in a first class cabin with a porthole. It is a different hotel experience and we would do it again.

Dear all,
We are currently contacting our guests to let them know that Celebrity Infinity has been chartered for a private voyage, and this regrettably means we need to make changes to sailings departing from September 11, 2016 - October 17, 2016. We want to provide guests with ample time to book an alternate itinerary and do everything we can to minimize any inconvenience.
A dedicated team is available to assist guests and can answer any questions. For individual bookings please call: 1-888-281-9343 ext. 48846
We are sorry for the changes and we will help each guest find an alternative sailing date. All guests will also receive an onboard credit as we truly appreciate their understanding.
Sincerely,
Celebrity Cruises
What we want is protected pricing and benefits from the cruise we booked 9/18 Panama to the new Panama sailing date out of San Francisco. I am sure Salesforces.com is paying Celebrity more than enough to cover the difference. You changed use from a 15 day Panama to a 7 day coastal to our HOME TOWN for the same price as the 15 day Panama.
We and our TA are still waiting for some sort of official notification. The Princess PC cruise is looking better and better.

Our 9/18 15 day Panama cruise has been changed to a 7 day Pacific coastal. And get this for the same price as the Panama cruise WTH!!!!! Our TA went and pulled our booking info and found this out, no call from Celebrity. She will be calling in the morning.
Celebrity could have just left us on the 16 nt SF-FLL and informed us of the new dates. We live in SF Bay Area so it will still work for us. We have not lost our cabin we had on the original booking.:p
It is going to get ugly at the Celebrity call centers...

Am booked on Infinity Oct 17, 2016, sailing. Some friends want to join us but Celebrity site shows that Oct 7, 2016, and Oct 17, 2016, sailings are Sold Out except for Suites.
Does anyone know how I might find out why sailings are Sold Out
This appears to be the case for all of the Infinity itineraries for September and October 2016. Not sure if it's a glitch or something else.

I love Cruise Critic, and it's been a few years since DH and I have been on a cruise, and no offense meant, but the threads seem SO negative. I would like this one to please focus on your positive Celebrity experiences, to help us get that cruise excitement back for our 2017 cruise. I know that it's not all negative, so let's see what y'all have:)
We've only been on one Celebrity cruise (so far) on the Solstice and couldn't have been more pleased.
The ship was beautiful and the crew was really top notch.
Count us among those who liked the grass area. Before we sailed we weren't sure about it but the smell of fresh grass while at sea was very nice!

Your pictures are great. However, most people are not using monitors capable of displaying 2048 x 1365 photographs full sized on one screen. Could you cut the photographs down to 1024 x 682?
Sure.

Does Princess allow balcony partitions to be opened between cabins?

Yes, you should be able to ask your room steward to open them for you.
