On The Bayou has a story. See it on Coral Princess.

This is one of my favorite Princess shows. I’ve seen it three times and would be very happy to get to experience it once again. It was supposed to go to the main theater when the Island was retrofitted but it would not be the same. I suspect it is not there.

Island gets a bad rap because they removed some public spaces to add extra staterooms. This makes it pretty easy to compare it unfavorably to its sister ship, Coral. But it still rates better imo for 'crowdedness'  than any of the larger ships. As Paula M notes, it deserves some extra credit for going places the others don't.

Thank you for saying that about “crowdedness.”  I am so disappointed that some of my favorite areas have been removed such as the Sanctuary floor with the little aft pool, and large game room.  I loved both the Coral and Island and have been shying away from the Island.  Maybe I will try it one day, if the itinerary is right.

Are you trying to ask a question about OBC or are you just sharing you used all your OBC?

    Cheers

It appears that the first post was accidentally posted before it was complete.
I have always received a check for my unused refundable OBC within a couple of weeks!

    This is a Princess forum.

I don’t know if anyone has responded but Princess is part of the Carnival Corporation that offers the Shareholder Credit. I would love it if the faxes would still work for Princess!

Thanks.  I didn't find a truffle hidden in my sundae.  Googled and didn't see anythng.

I’ve not seen SMiZE even advertised on board since it was first announced.  Those gelato concoctions are not Tyra Banks’ SMiZE cream.  It was announced on 11/06/2022 to “soon be available on all 15 Princess MedallionClass ships.”  I googled SMiZE and the Princess announcement was buried among many others about the ice cream.  I doesn’t appeal to me any more than those gelato offerings!  Just a plain sundae, please!

Yes, although I loved our cruise on the Royal, I was looking forward to quiet time in the piazza and there was little of that, except for early mornings. I was surprised they don't have most of the activities in another area. I enjoyed line dancing and zumba but felt we were the entertainment with everyone watching. Surely, there's an unused lounge that could be used for such activities.

The Royal Class ships are really lacking when it comes to the venues that could be used for various forms of entertainment such as shows, dancing, and mostly those line dancing and Zumba classes!  More quiet times, with nice background music, please!  I have to say, though, that even the Piazzas on the older ships seem to have gotten noisy, too! Maybe I’m just getting old! 😂

It is very unfortunate that Princess has done that however you may still get the Shareholder credit if you don’t also have the Military benefit…at least at the moment.  I applied for and received the Shareholder credit and hubby has the Military credit.  It is a big loss for couples who both served.

Oops…all ready explained!   That’s what I get for not reading ALL the responses!

I was actually going to buy CCL stock just to get this benefit.  I recently learned Princess longer combines the Carnival shareholder OBC with Military OBC.  I cannot imagine who decided this was a good idea since there are completely different rationales for having earned each award.  Honoring someone's past service should not be conflated with a benefit that can be bought.  I will pass on the Carnival stock and gladly keep the benefit my husband earned the hard way!

@Steelers36Your expert status remains intact. Thank you for the linked page.

However, I'm not totally convinced that it is still being offered in the specialty location though. Nothing against you! Just not seeing it listed in the amenities on the booking page.

Let's see if any of the current cruisers can give us some live feedback. Calling all suite passengers that are now sailing, or recently sailed in a suite. TIA to all. Including Steelers36.

It appears to me that it is now in the Reserve area of the dining room (which would include with other Reserve guests) and not the specialty dining room. I hope that is not the case!  That is/was truly one of the nicest benefits of “the suite life.”

I've been trying to log in to the Princess website.  It doesn't want to accept my password.

I tried several times to update my password and log in with the new PW.  It worked a couple of times but now I can update the password, it says it was accepted, I try to use it to log in and it says my login was unsuccessful.

I was trying to book a cruise this weekend but I got so frustrated with their website I gave up!!

Has anyone else been having issues?

I have been having issues for a couple of months now, both on the website and and the App on my phone and iPad.  I tried deleting and reinstalling the App on my phone and it has made matters worse.   It continues to be a very frustrating situation. I’m green lane online (although I’m not confident  it’s for the right cruise!) and Blue Lane on the Apps.

Definitely the specialty breakfast. I wake up for those especially - and I am not a morning person, nor a breakfast person really. But a mimosa or 2 with fresh eggs benedict and a side of crispy bacon - yeah, I'll wake up for those..

First night specialty dinner is a lovely way to start.

If it's a longer cruise, laundry service is great! Or, even on a short cruise, sending things out to be pressed instead of doing it yourself is wonderful!

Concierge lounge has a happy hour or two - wine, beer at no charge (or against package count), snacks, etc.

And, all day/night you can access the concierge lounge for snacks, espresso based coffees from the machine, usually soda and waters too...

    Have a wonderful time!!

Sure wish there were concierge lounges on the old ships.
Yes, breakfast is definitely something to get up and ready for!

    Lois😊

Doesn't always work. We had a cabin that my wife selected for a specific reason. We were "upgraded" 3 times before I finally sent a note directly to John Padgett. I kept having to get my TA to get the original cabin back. The original booking was marked "No Upgrade" and each time they moved us and we got moved back it was again marked "No Upgrade". Frustrating. The note to JP finally resolved the issue and I received a phone call and an apology from Princess for messing with my booking repeatedly.

Quite a few years ago I was livid to find our mini suite had been upgraded…until I realized, as we were heading to it, that our new cabin was an aft/stern suite!  We would have been happy to never leave it!  I’ve booked one for the 2005 LA - Alaska round trip and hope all goes well for us between now and then!  It’s a long way away…Lois

Everybody has been having issues with the app today.  They are aware and working on it apparently.

My app hasn’t worked for over a month and my ability to log in online is hit or miss…mostly miss!  I’ve also been unsuccessful with the link to access the booking for those without the app.  I’ve gotten as far as selecting medallions and entering my address for mailing (in the US), but it will not accept it and complete the purchase.  The order shows “in progress.”  I’m also unable to access any reservations.

I do understand that there have been some major problems these last few days (unrelated I’m sure to my my issues!) that I certainly hope will be quickly resolved!

I finally could get in this early AM.  I never thought this would happen, but I think Princess just out priced themselves for me.  Sticker shock!  My preferred cabins are sold out.  I will wait for the novelty to wear off and people to drop out.

Sticker shock is right!  I thought about you when I got online at 8:00am Pacific time and looked for a window suite…all were gone!  I then checked for an aft, Vista or Penthouse for the wake view and large balcony, and grabbed the last Penthouse.  I just checked this morning and all suites are sold out. I have over a year to decide if I really want to spend that much, but at least I know I have it if I’m able.

I truly wish the cruise was earlier in the season.  May is my favorite time for Alaska.  That may make it easier for me if I must cancel…

Hopefully one of your preferred cabins will open up!

Finally!!!   Princess is offering the 16 day Alaska cruise - Round Trip - out of Los Angeles!  We had this one booked in 2020... and then COVID changed our lives!!

    We booked this morning!

We booked, too.  We had two or three LA round trips booked between 2019 and 2020.  One on the Sun was cancelled because the ship was sold, and the last on the Golden (?) due to Covid.  I’m pretty sure there was one before the Sun when the ship was deployed somewhere else.  I’m hoping this one is a go, and that we won’t be the ones having to cancel🤞

We were on the Viking Neptune probably a week before you - from New York to Montreal and we'll be sailing on the Princess Crown to Alaska next month.

Loved the thermal spa!! I'm curious to see how the thermal spa rates on our Princess cruise. We opted for the Penthouse suite so we will have access to the spa.

For the same price as Viking, we opted for the Penthouse Suite with the Premier package on our Alaska cruise, so I think it will be a great experience and we're really looking forward to it.

I’m afraid the thermal spa on the Crown will be a disappointment for you, in comparison to the beautiful spa area on the newer, Royal Class, Princess ships.  I do think that the Crown is a better choice for Alaska as there is so much open deck, viewing area on Princess’ older ships compared to the beautiful Royal Class ships.

We once had an aft Penthouse Suite on the Sapphire in Alaska and it was incredible. The huge, covered, balcony overlooking the wake was wonderful and didn’t really want to leave the cabin!  Wishing you a wonderful voyage!
