  1. Just got off the Escape, and the Glow/White party was on Thursday in Spice H20. Now, my advice is don't go to the party, as it is overrun with kids and teenagers. I'm not complaining just to complain (as this cruise was flawless) but this was the SINGLE worst experience of my cruise. It might possibly be because majority of the guests were from Michigan (college and k-12 spring break) and we were told that nearly 1,800 of 4,000 people were under the age of 18. With that said, if this is the case for you avoid this party like the plague.
funny but it was the same on my getaway cruise in december and it wasn't a school break week. We really wished that their was a family glow earlier in the night for the under 18. We still had a good time but it was hard to steer clear of the little kiddos on the dance floor.
  2. Keep in mind that the studios come with a perk. The guarantees of the other rooms don't and that is usually the low price you first see. Check all the room types because sometimes better deals can be found besides the studios. My last cruise I got a balcony guarantee WITH 2 perks for cheaper than a studio with one perk. Some gurentee levels have perks but the "X" ones don't.

  3. On getaway last year we had a private tour. We got to theater early and the staff had assembled the ncl excursion ppl for the tenders on one side of the theater. They asked us to go to the other side and we were the only ones. Since we were only 3 ppl, they just put us in that tender that was loading. Just go early and they will try and squeeze you on.

I should add that this was in grand Cayman so the process might be different in other ports.

. It ended up being a great at beach day. We didn't get off first thing and walked right to the beach. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas still available. The water was calm and we just enjoyed the lazy day. There was no food or drink service on the beach but we really didn't mind. I thought we'd head back on board for lunch but we actually stayed until about 3:30 and the buffet on getaway was still open by 4. Go and enjoy. There were also no beach vendors so maybe that added to the relaxation.

  5. Wanted to write a quick review of our trip on the Getaway.

Harvest Caye very nice but husband called it very Disney like. Not a lot of shady areas and on our day there it was hot as Hades. Get off the boat early if you need shade. Nice pool area, snorkeling was very poor as this is a mangrove island with limited visibility off the man made beach area. Dock is very long and all food drinks are extra. They do have a shuttle that can take you to the gate if needed. Overall great job NCL.

    Service

As mentioned by others it appears a lot of staff is training for the new ship to be based in China. Cruise Director was truly bad. Assistant CD as well. Our room steward Richard was so sweet and really good. Everyone was friendly of the staff we interacted with.

Disembarkation- Did walk off through Haven and it was very fast. Left around 8 am. Again took Uber back to parking as Premier Cruise Parking's shuttle was nowhere to be found.

I was also on this cruise. I agree that the cruise director was not good. But I found the other staff to be great and this did not affect my cruise. In fact, it became a joke among us to see if she would actually show up for an event or if she would even do anything when she was actually there. Yes there was a language issue, but I found more fault in that she barely was around. She danced on the stage at the glow party for about 5 mins and disappeared while ACD lead the party.

Beach at harvest caye was nice. Lots of umbrellas available and we didn't get off first thing

Disembarkation was my worst ever. Took 2 hours to walk off with our luggage. That's 2 hours of snaking through the ship and customs with your big bag

    I had a great cruise!!!

  6. So we can get them at Vegas!

They dont take you the long way like the normal taxi drivers do they?

Calling in there after the cruise!

Yup. In terminal 1 go to the parking deck level two something. I forget. They have a sign. Not sure if it says uber or ride share. They are great in Vegas. I don't know the pick up location in terminal 3.

  7. I am a wish granter with make a wish. I wish I was in your sailing so I could help.

There are various emails thrown around on this board. Maybe you can email the concierge to get the ball rolling with your fun idea. Sorry I don't have the freedom's concierge email. Maybe the concierge can connect you with someone prior to your sailing.

    Have a great trip!

  8. Sas picked me up at my fll hotel to go to POM last month. They were delayed nearly an hour waiting for some people at the airport. The driver did keep in contact with me updating on the delay. I didn't really mind as I had requested the early shuttle at 9:30 and it was $15. So I think he finally picked me up at 10:15.

  9. I've stayed myself in fll and Mia a few times. Just use your common sense you would at home and you'll be fine. I live in a city where cabs are known to long haul tourists so I just watched our trip on a gps map on my phone to make sure driver wasn't screwing me. My last trip in dec I tried uber. It was great. You should try it. I did not feel unsafe. And I landed at 1:30am.
