  1. You will need to call the insurer, and they will forward to you some forms that need to be filled out and signed. You will likely have to have a Doctor sign something. We have had to do that in the past, and got a full refund for the cruise.

I had to cancel two cruises when my brother had a stroke. The insurence company will send you the forms needed. There is a spot on the form for your Doctor to fill out. My experience with them was extremely positive, they were patient and understanding.

  2. We were there in 2014. There are booths set up by the tramway on both sides. They had buses running from several companies. If memory serves me correctly they were charging around $20 per person round trip. They ran in the half hour.

  3. Here's my two cents :)

I am platinum with Norwegian and will be platinum with Princess after my cruse in February on the Royal.

I tend to sail Norwegian more when traveling with my kids. Typically I find it to be a bit younger crowd with more kids...works better for me teenagers.

Things I like about Norwegian: Very laid back...don't have to dress up as much...there is always, and I do mean always, something to do on the ship. Not a moment goes by that the cruise director's staff isn't hosting something entertaining to do. I really enjoy the entertainment on NCL a bit more than I do on Princess.

Things I like about Princess: There seems to be a level of service on Princess that I haven't seen consistently on NCL. The food in the main dinning rooms on Princess is MUCH better than the food in the main dinning rooms on NCL.

To each his own...and as with everything else in life it's all what you make of it. I've had great experiences on both lines and I can't say that I've ever had a terrible experience on either!!

Good luck with whatever choice you make!

    I agree completely.

  4. I agree with the previous posters about the availability of calorie counts. What I have found works for me, I get up in the morning and do my regular exercise walking and weights. Have a late breakfast of the fruits and protein from horizon court. Then early dinner. I don't lose any weight but my pants still fit when I leave the ship. Enjoy your cruise!

  5. We put clear packing tape on the tags before cutting them out - then punch a hole and use zip ties to close it over the luggage handle at the hotel before heading to the docks. Virtually indestructible!

I use the clear packing tape with staples never had a problem. I like the zip tie idea! Thanks

  6. Congrats on your first cruise. Everyone here has done a great job of answering your questions. I only have one thing to add, about day two or three make sure you go and get a copy of your ship board account. You can easily lose track of what you are spending. I have seen to many shocked at the end of their cruise. Have a great time!
