A few years back, when we first started taking cruises we had sailed on Celebrity only once and then booked a Princess Cruise.
The Princess cruise had a fantastic 10 day Caribbean itinerary and was on a brand new ship. We were excited to go and had completely open minds.
The ship was beautiful and didn’t disappoint. Our assigned cabin steward and nightly waiter & assistant waiter were great.
But we found the crew manning the public areas like the cafe, pool area and bars were grumpy, completely unfriendly and appeared to not like their job.
The ship was always littered around the pool area with used glasses, plates, used towels, etc. (especially in the morning following the previous night’s celebrations).
One of the crew was dumping drinks onto the deck floor to empty them before bringing the glasses in to be washed - he didn’t think I saw him. So all those leftover sticky drinks were now on the deck where folks walked.
Then there was the champagne tower incident in the grand foyer where security had to step in and settle things down before the whole thing came crashing down.
Overall the food was just ok (very subjective).
We booked Celebrity the following year and haven’t looked back.
Princes has a very loyal following so they must be doing something right.

I ended up changing the reservation to March 2022. Since I’m bring my Sis for her first ever cruise experience, I figured it would be better to push out another year to allow things to settle down a bit. With fingers crossed that by then masks won’t be required while on the ship.

I was just reading FAQs on a casino comp site and it said AI was included for all Blue Chip comped cruises as of Nov 17, 2020.
Hi! Thank you for posting this note. If you have time, could you share the link to the FAQ that has detail about AI for BCC comped cruises?
It’s a busy time of year - so if it’s a pain to do, I don’t want to impose and appreciate your original post.
Hoping I can call back BCC with a specific link/ screen capture and see if they will confirm the AI package is included for a casino comped sailing that was moved from 2021 (prior to AI) to 2022.
In the meantime, I’ll do some searching online too.
TIA! Stay well.

I’m thinking Celebrity will release the 2022 European itineraries after L&S has expired so that there can’t be a mass exodus from the 2021 bookings. Nothing to base it on - just a wild guess.
-
We are booked on a 9 day for March 2021 and waiting hear if cancelled or changed ports of call.
-
Our 9 day March 2020 ABC cruise on the EQ is still taking reservations. Expecting to see a revised itinerary or cancellation. Pretty much a waiting game at this point. I’m guessing they are trying to figure out the plan for the Equinox sailings that are scheduled over 7 days.

Spot on. We booked the Edge for a number of reasons.
If we wanted the Silho we have booked it. It’s a great ship, but we wanted a new experience. The worst part we never received any communication from Celebrity. Not one word. Very disappointing.
-
ThankYou - good to know. I’ll reach out to our TA and see if we can keep our S3 category.
We’ve never have had a suite before and it was going to be a very special treat as a wedding gift & celebration for our son & his husband - since their big wedding was reduced to just us parents, no guests or reception - we wanted it to be a bit special.
Thanks so much!
-
Thank you in advance for any confirmed details.
Does anyone know if Celebrity is honoring same cabin price and perks from the cancelled November 12, 2021 Edge cruise if we book on one of the Silhouette cruises due to sail in November and December 2021?
Our S3 suite from the Edge sailing is now more than double the cost on the Silho. And not even close in same perks.
Not happy as this is the 4th time our original March 2020 cruise has been cancelled. And this one without notification from Celebrity- I found out on FB with a deadline of Dec 1 for a change plan deadline.
I’m a very loyal Celebrity customer who is extremely disappointed in how this latest cancellation has been handled.
I would like to make good on the promise of a wedding gift to our son and sail next year to Caribbean. Hoping we can keep same cabin class and perks. TIA.
-
Totally underwhelmed. This was a missed opportunity to build the brand loyalty which quite frankly is taking a hit with all the canceled cruises & poor communications.
Sorry Celebrity, you dropped the ball big time.

My favorite? ALL the meals, snacks, desserts, and drinks I didn’t have to make & do the dishes for!
So hard to choose just a few to callout as shiny stars - but a few do come to mind. 😀
Escargot from MD, Branzino from Murano, Almond croissants from Al Bacio, Rose sorbet from the ice cream station and an ice cold Lemon drop martini from the MB.
Counting down until we can sail again!

Thank you for this thread. CC is always a great source for info.
We have a European cruise booked on the Apex for Sept 2021 with all 4 perks, generous OBC on a SV veranda that I’d to L&S but since the 2022 Euro cruise haven’t been announced yet I haven’t been able to do so.
We have 2 family cruises moved to 2021 due to 2020 cancellations - so we need to more the Euro cruise to 2022. I wish we could do all 3 cruises - but due to vacation time allotment and budget, Euro has to wait one more year.
Do the new Euro cruise itineraries get announced in September or is it more like November?
If late fall after September L&S will expire & it won’t be an option. Which I completely understand.
I’m guessing a lot of folks are in this same “boat”. Totally not complaining as we are so grateful for our health, family, friends and the ability to sail when it opens up again.
Just playing the waiting game & working to prioritize.

Hi! When you call the BCC phone # they provide the email address as part of their phone message. BLUECHIPCLUB@CELEBRITY.COM. Sorry for the caps, not yelling - it’s a copy & paste from google.
i hope this helps. 😀

Let me know if you had success in getting through. I tried calling 3x yesterday and was on hold for over an hour each time. So I gave up. 😞

Does anyone know if you book a cruise that costs less than what you receive for a FCC will the extra FCC get converted to OBC to use on that sailing?
Sorry if this a repeat question.
-
I received an email but clicked on the link and said the time has expired to respond. Really?! 10 minutes after receiving? Ridiculous.

We are washing our hands frequently. I brought a pump bottle of soap from home for the cabin. Makes washing a breeze.
Great idea. Thank you!

Will be toasting VT on our upcoming March cruise. Will raise a glass - cheers to VT!

Wow, what wonderful cruise of a lifetime planned!
The only thing I can think of not mentioned above would be a copy or photo of your passports.
Not sure if you are planning to venture off the ship or not, but we usually take copies of our passports with us and lock the originals in the cabin safe.
I started doing this a few years back when a friend of ours didn’t watch her purse in a tourist site that was notorious for petty thieves had the purse stolen (with passport in it) - now I alway have a color copy of our passports when we are off the ship in foreign countries, including the islands. A hard lesson for the friend.
Have an amazing trip!

Can you book business at time of initial reservation with CA or do you HAVE to upgrade with the airline? I’d like to have business reserved at timing of initial booking if possible. And can you designate the airline you want?
We are flying from east coast to Barcelona fall 2021 and preferred carrier is Delta but in looking (not 2021) dummy flights for 2020 business class pricing is super high. Due to length to get to final destination we need to be able to lay down and grab a little sleep. TIA!

Hi - You can request distilled water in advance or after you get on board. They will also supply a long extension cord. All at no additional charge.
Requests in advance can be done on-line thru Celebrity's website, by phone or thru your TA.
We called Celebrity directly in advance. If the water and cord aren’t in our stateroom, we will just do a gentle request to our room steward.

Cellar Masters was my favorite but I have a feeling the new Craft Social will be husbands new favorite. We will find out in March.
I can always walk “across the street” to get a special drink from the martini bar!

Wow! Orville - that is an awesome deal! Thanks everyone for insights.
I thought our OBC was pretty good at being close to 10% of cabin cost - looks like better deals are to be had depending on timing, the TA and keeping an eye out for promos.
Thanks all!
-
Sounds like great deals, but can I ask - how is everyone getting massive OBC? For our upcoming 9 day cruise on the Silho in AQ we have $350 for OBC. $300 from Celebrity promo and +$50 from TA. While $350 is nice - it’s not $700 or $825. 😀
Whats your secret? Knowing we can’t discuss specific TAs or cruise booking companies.

That was our experience as well. Totally different vibe - champagne tower debacle that got a bit out of hand. And overall the crew didn’t appear to be happy at all.
