    Celebrated too soon . . .

My dad noticed that the $6000 in FCC had disappeared from his Princess account so he thought everything had been processed and that he would see a refund on his credit card.

Still no refund and, today, they were charged a further $250 USD!

With regard to the refund, you said he was advised 3 days ago that it would be credited to his card within 7 (work) days, no surprise it hasn't yet hit!

Re the further charge, these payments are set up for processing days in advance. With the timeline you provided, it would have been impossible to cancel and therefore no surprise this charge has been taken.

Don't misunderstand my post, I have huge sympathy for the predicament your parents find themselves and it's outrageous. Just trying to be factual with regards to how refunding and monthly payments play out! 😉

    Hi

I usually book ocean view guarantee or veranda guarantee.

I have a veranda now and I wanted to upgrade to Aquaclass since it is only $200 more in total and i was told that I can"t do it because my original room is a guarantee and I already did my final paymnt and sailing is in 2 months.

I am to the point to simply book last time

Is it 200 more than the original guarantee price, or 200 more than the cost of the cabin type you have been allocated? that makes a huge difference to the question posed!

What do you mean by 'scotch'....if you are thinking of single malt whisky, neither Chivas 18 yo or JW are such!

If one chooses not to use both of these visits, because of their own personal preferences, then that is a totally different issue.

But to say that any company should not refund for goods or services that were purchased and then not available, due to the companies own policies/misjudgements, etc...

A refund is warranted.  Selling something and then not delivering, and then offering no refund.. that would actually be fraud.

Your theory falls apart with a crash, given that the additional components between Plus and Premier are NOT individually priced! 😉

I am cruising on the Ovation with my sister and a dear friend in July.  We will have a two-day stop in Malta.  The first day, we are at the island of Gozo until 3 pm, then we sail to the main island of Valetta.  We want to schedule services in a Hammam spa in Valetta on that late afternoon/early evening when we arrive in Valletta from Gozo.  We must book these services in advance. So my question is how long is the sail from Gozo to Valletta, so that we can book our reservations for the hammam for about 90 minutes after our docking in Valletta?

It's only 30km by road, presumably less by sea. But, who knows how long it takes to cast the ropes and start drifting from the dock. Or how long it will take to berth and tie up in Valetta.

The ports you mentioned are lovely ports you would usually not visit.

Cruising without unpacking is a very relaxed way to travel.

As you live in the USA you will have to fly into London anyway (not sure where you cruise begins/ends).

So why don't make the best of two worlds and add several days in London before the cruise (and forget the other big cities) and then enjoy a wonderful cruise?

Despite my previous post, this one does have merit....still wouldn't be our first choice, but definitely credible!

It will cost us more as they won't apply BLC onbaord!

    🤔  But, you posted:

'Now I've gone to do it, they are saying that it's the difference between the half price and the premier price'

And most contributions are agreeing that if you do it online it's the difference between your 50% off plus and full price premier! That's why I posted my comment, it will cost less on board even without BLC....what is that??

I get that but I have been told twice by Princess that it was the difference between the full plus price and premier so they should honour that.

If I wait until onboard, they will probably only charge that as they have no idea what deal I booked under.

What's the big deal then, just wait until you board and do the upgrade transaction! 😉

Not according to my Southern Baptist Sunday School Teacher!  The water that was turned into wine by Jesus, was alcohol free.  🤣

Absolutely correct, the water definitely was alcohol free. The resultant wine was not! 😉

....Your comment about Seabourn Square has reminded me I get free transport to and from the ship and will thus ask for it to be to the Cunard check in and just sit there for an hour and a half.

We have done this on a handful of occasions, most recently twice in Barbados a few months ago! We had to go 'out of the port' through immigration, and for our first ship transfer from Azamara to Windstar we sat in the covered outside waiting area with luggage for a couple of hours before checking in.

Returning from that cruise, we boarded Emerald Azzurra same day. Because that ship was closest to the cruise terminal, literally a 30 second walk, after 'exiting' through immigration I wandered over to the ship. Encountering the most pleasant Hotel Director on the dock he agreed to take on board our luggage. That left us free, and totally unhindered with luggage, to explore Bridgetown for a couple of hours before embarkation.

What you suggest will work perfectly in Civitavecchia, and you may find that Cunard (especially for QG class) will take your luggage immediately on your Seabourn drop off at the Cunard dock. Best wishes, I am sure your plan is sound.

.....This is our second X cruise, the first on Solstice and we were not enamored with the buffet quality plus we not only had to deal with chair hogs at the pool, but we also had to deal with table hogs.  We actually saw people just sitting there playing solitaire, reading a book over coffee, and even a family playing games during the peak of the meal service....

Perhaps mainstream cruising is not for you! 😉

We will be sailing Enchanted in April and my dad and uncle are scotch drinkers. They enjoy Chivas 18 yo and Johnnie Walker Gold and Blue. Wondering if anyone knows if the better scotches are available at most bars or only certain ones? Willing to upgrade but want to make sure that they can get it in most bars.

....not knowing how points are accrued is also on you. Your entitled to your opinion but I am on the opposite side of this and agree it is based on being onboard not money spent.

I do not read the author anywhere saying she didn't know how points are accrued. Her argument is predicated upon fairness, and her point IMHO is fair!

  14. Whilst fully understanding all cruiseline policies re points being apportioned following the cruise, and only if you were onboard, I think the author makes very fair points and has my total sympathy. As she clearly states, the cruiseline loses nothing and potentially stands to gain two revenue streams for the same cabin!

not sure where i lost you....

I'd guess you lost (never gained) most on this thread at the first sentence. It is commonly recognised that, for efficiency in writing, the sentence word count should be at most 15-20.

Quickly eyeballing that sentence, your word count was 3 or 4 times longer than that. Further, unnecessary or needless words should be avoided.

    😉
