  1. And remember that if you are paying with a debit card, you may incur "hold" charges on top of your actual charges. The "hold" amounts will drop off, but not immediately.

The kiosk's are great for checking your balance, and adding cash to your account. We try to pay it even by the end of the last night. That way our balance is zero in the morning.

  2. There have been a few threads already on this topic. We were on Triumph the first week of November and Camp Carnival was being re-modeled......all it means is that the camp carnival rooms won't be available. They will just move the activites to another place. On our cruise, they used an area that would regularly be used as a lounge. It was very secure, they moved toys and things into that area for the kids to use, and it was available in the same fashion that Camp Carnival would be. The kids will still have fun, the parents will still be able to drop off the kids and hit the lido deck or casino, and all be right in the world.

Just go to the Camp Carnival orientation the first night to get your kids activity lists and you will have all your questions answered.

  3. We were on the Breeze this past June, and there was an amazing young woman named Selkie playing acoustic guitar and singing in the Atrium and Red Frog Pub...we have since followed her on facebook and listen to her music all the time now. We also found a great performer early November on the Triumph. Don't remember his name, but he played guitar in the Atrium most nights.

Did anyone else get to hear Selkie, or any other artists on their cruise that were just great and would recommend?

  4. Our son first went to Camp Carnival when he was two .( At that age they will give you a phone/walkie talkie so they can contact you if there any issues.)

Our son is 10 now, and he is already booked on his 11th cruise! He loves to cruise and loves Camp Carnival!

try searching your favorite social media site for .. cruising carnival with kids... and you might find a page with lots more info...

  5. That should be perfect...we had one just like it on our last cruise...put a bunch of drinks in it and rolled it on at embarkation....then our room steward kept it full of ice all week so we always had cold drinks.

Then when it's not in use, folds up nicely to travel.

  6. IMHO...no business is perfect..and sometimes how well a business appears to run is subject to the difference between is best and worst employees on any given day.
I think the issue here was that instead of doing a little more leg work on getting a different resolution to the problem, or instead of asking for any assistance or recommendations from experienced cruisers, the OP stormed into the thread with fists in the air complaining that Carnival is unfair and I'll teach them a lesson. That will usually rub most of us Carnival lovers the wrong way.
And although it never feels good to be disagreed with, or to be told you might be wrong, I don't really take any of the comments I saw (and maybe I missed one or two) as being mean.

  7. Garbage bags....great for dirty laundry, and that way your suitcase won't get too "funky" on the way home...refrigerator magnets with clips on them to hang notes, fun times, etc....an extra bag to carry souvenirs home ....if you plan on purchasing pictures, bring some sort of firm folder to get them home safe...

  8. You should be able to..they say they can be used for anything, including booking the cruise. We just paid off our cruise using the Verizon gift cards....they only come in increments of $100 at the most, so we bought a bunch of them and posted them online towards our balance. Got 10% off for being a Verizon customer!!

It's a great tip if you use Verizon and cruise Carnival!!

  9. Getting ready for our 13th Carnival cruise in November...yeah, things have changed, some for the better, maybe a few for the worse..but I will tell you that we have a great time every cruise!

Main Dining Room..never left there hungry...

Buffet...1meat, 1 chicken, 1 fish..sides, salad...if it doesn't excite us, we'll go get a burger, deli sandwich, Mongolian wok, or whatever other options are available..

Room service, pretty sure the menu has been the same since our first cruise....

Service..always good, sometimes better than other times...

Evening shows..We always find something to entertain us..if not in the main lounge, then a singer or band somewhere.

(I mention the above examples as they seem to be the most scrutinized)

What's the point? We like what Carnival offers, therefore we cruise with Carnival..if a time comes when that opinion changes, then we too will make a change.

It's petty much like EVERYTHING in life.

  10. I wish they would get some decent bands, quite honestly I prefer the live music on deck over most the bands feature in the live concerts. I'll be on a styx cruise in October. I don't plan on attending, but I like that the ship is staying in Cozumel until 1:00am that's the biggest perk I think.

I agree....I would much rather have the live bands playing on the lido decvk then these concerts. I miss the Caribbean theme music.
