Yes, friends of mine were at the Bingo that day and were desperately hoping to win and be near us, no such luck though. Did not see the security guards, what day was that ? We must have missed it.
  2. We were in Crown loft suite 1736

The 17th deck only has 4 digit for suites.

It was by the basketball court and had a great view.

We were not bothered by any noise probably because our bed was in the loft, and we usually did not return to our cabin till 12am.

Did not hear the noise from the zip line, oceanarium or golf.

    Sea ya

Sue, you were just around the corner from us, we were in Crown Loft Suite 1708

  3. Can anyone tell me about the dress code on formal nights on the allure? Is it strictly enforced to suits, jkts, gowns and cocktails dresses OR....can men look nice in khaki's and collared shirts? Can woman wear any kind of dress or fancy slacks?

Not strictly enforced from what I could see. Some gentlemen wore jackets and ties, some just jackets and some just shirt and trousers. Some ladies dressed up other just smart casual, some casual. It was a bit more formal on formal nights in the specialty restaurants.

  4. We were on the same cruise and found our cabin temp fine - we were on Deck 17, however the elevators were roasting hot. Food in main dining room definitely not as good as usual and screaming uncontrolled kids all around us at dinner on late sitting on 3 tables of 10 !! Also ate at 150 Central Park twice and Chops - both excellent food and service. Even though disappointed in Main Dining Room on this cruise it certainly would not deter us from sailing on Allure again, this was our 2nd time on her in 6 months, wonderful ship.

  5. Looking to book corner aft cabin 8586 JS on Splendour Of The Seas. Would appreciate any pictures or comments?

    Thanks:)

Just had JS 8586 on sister ship Legend, and stateroom was fine, balcony was great and extra large with 2 sun loungers and table, would definitely choose JS on aft again, especially Vision and Radiance class ships.

  6. Booking the Legend for October 2014. My brother and SIL will probably book a GS. We will either be in a JS or D1 in the aft.

Can someone tell me if there is a Diamond Lounge and a Concierge Lounge. Talking to Crown and Anchor they mentioned the Butterfly Club.

I see by the list there is a Concierge listed as well as a Diamond listing. Are Diamond Plus allowed into the area where suite guests meet?

This is my brothers first cruise on Royal, he normally sails on Silver Sea/Crystal etc. Hoping to convert him to a Loyal to Royal.

Just got off Legend, no difference at all between Diamond Lounge and Concierge lounge, food, drinks, wine and cocktails exactly the same, went into both and had a wonderful time.

  7. You're never a pest when you are asking quesitons. That's not a barrier, just a shows where the ship was "pieced" together.:D If you go up and down Deck 10 you will see the same thing in between other cabins.

I remember the sail away was spectacular from Bora Bora and we were in 1548 which is on the starboard side. I would still go with 1556. You can always get up early and go on deck and see both sides.:p

Thanks so much Patti for your help. Hope to see you again one day on the high seas.

  8. Hi there, of course I remember you from our cruise. Hope this finds you well.

1600 is a strange configuration compared to a normal GS that is midship. Yes, the balcony is large, but angled. The room itself is dark because you do not have that wall of windows. You only have the sliding glass door. There is no bar area as in the normal GS. Some of of the cabinets have false fronts, so you don't get as much storage space.

1556 is on the hump, close to the elevators and you have a great view both forward and aft when standing at the rail. I would go for 1556, but that's just me.

Sorry Patti for being a pest, but just a quick question, would we be better to choose a JS or GS on the port side for views of Bora Bora etc.,- from memory that is the side which has best views as the ship sails in and if so what do you think of GS 1036. On the deck plan it looks like some sort of barrier beside it, do you know what this is? I like the hump that is available but the sail in to Bora Bora is so spectacular that I think we would prefer to be on the side of the ship which has the best views. Thanks for any info you are able to give.

  9. Hi there, of course I remember you from our cruise. Hope this finds you well.

Thanks Patti, I knew you would be the expert !!! Hope to see you again one day on a cruise.

  10. Here is a picture of Radiance's aft cabins and balconies.

    Radiancestern.jpg

The space to the left would be part of the inside of your cabin.

Hi Patti, Hope you are both well, not sure if you will remember but we were on the Radiance cruise with you in 2011 to Australia. Had been waiting anxiously to book it again this Sept, but both 1100 and 1602 had gone by 1.30am on May 13th when itinerary came out, as I believe it was released in Australia before here, so am trying to choose next best. I know you are a Radiance expert and hope you can help, If we went for a GS is the balcony bigger on 1556 which is a hump or 1600 on the aft ?? Your grand daughter Looks so grown up, and so pretty. All the best.

  11. Thanks.........I knew someone would help me!

I'm trying to get used to a tablet as I am in the U.K. getting ready to head off to London tomorrow after spending the last 2 weeks in the Channel Islands and the English countryside. Then on to the Jewel of the Seas Friday for the fall TA .;)

    Rick

Hey Rick, where were you in the Channel Islands ? Jersey or Guernsey ? We were just in Jersey.

  12. Please see my post above dated February 5th. Steven does not go back to the Diamond Lounge after Juan Diego returns from vacation.

Hi Patti, Hope you are well - seems ages since our Radiance cruise last Sept !!! Have you any idea who will be Concierge on the Splendour in Sept this year ??? Your grand-daughter is certainly growing up and is so cute.

  13. Lovely afts, thank you. 2 months from now we'll be in 1388 on Adventure. Can't wait!

Just returned from Adventure, kids and spouses had 1388 and 1688 (we had 1694 between them) and those cabins are huge for a Balcony Cabin, would say nearly the size of a regular Junior Suite. Our Junior Suite was also much bigger than the regular Junior Suite, and our balcony was massive.

  14. Yes, the Windjammer starts serving buffet breakfast about 7 in the morning.

I've got JS 1100 too! When are you going? If it's before 11/30/09, let me know how that cabin is. I picked it especially because of comments on these boards. I love being in the back of the ship where a minimum of people pass by your room.

We just got off Vision of the Seas where we had the JS 8088 also a corner aft with a terrific wrap around balcony. I hope we'll enjoy 1100 as much.

I actually know where Ft. Salonga is! I've been there, used to live in NYC.

We have had JS 1100 on the Jewel and Serenade and have it again on the Serenade this Oct and on the Radiance next year - wonderful stateroom with a huge balcony and never had a problem with the outside Windjammer area above. Like the advantage of only being one deck down from pool too.
