Are there other excursions available for ports NOT thru carnival. Found a few sites that offer some better iteneraries that work best for us, but did not want to go with someone less reliable.   DO you know of an alternative tour site for our stops?

Not sure if I am "allowed" to suggest this, or if it violates "the rules" (and if it does I am sure the mods will delete it and send me a nastygram), but we use shoreexcursioneer.com, viator.com, resortforaday.com and daypasses.com to find our excursions.

Have done many excursions not using the Cruise line. Never had a problem.

Most ,if not all pier runners are people that go to a bar for the day and stay too long. Haven't read where an excursion company returned late and the people missed the ship. You would see it on the web, twenty to thirty people all running down the pier.

There were several cruisers on NCL doing a private excursion recently over in Africa that got left behind. They had to do a 3 or 4 day trek across Africa to catch up with the ship.  It makes for an entertaining read over on the NCL boards and made national news.

from my expereince they ALWAYS look at the signed receipt to see if a tip was left .  that tells me they were expecting a tip each and every time.

They look at the receipt because if there is an extra tip they have to put it in the computer.

Next time you are on board, watch closely and look at how they do tip vs non tip receipts. In addition to having to manually add it into the system, they also put the tip receipts in a separate pile from the non tip receipts.

Presumably they do this so that on the last night when the cheapskates begin complaining at guest services about their final bill on their S&S account and begin removing gratuities and saying "I never tipped on this drink" and shaft the hard working crew because they spent more than they can afford, they can find the receipt a bit easier to show that they did tip and sign for it.

I've already taken a loss, have y'all finished kicking me already? It's not your loss, why are you guys so bent out of shape over my stuff? Can you help me get it back?  I never said the cabin steward stole my bag, I honestly don't believe there was anything in it that he would want, however the location of my backpack could have been easily overlooked by the steward.  All I wanted when this first occurred was for a Carnival Rep to have the Steward check the exact location of where I left my backpack on the same day in which I left it.  But I can clearly see how he could have missed coming across it. I used 10 Clorox wipes to clean my filthy cabin, if he didn't clean the cabin prior to me coming then chances are he didn't clean the cabin for the next guest, therefore he would have not have seen my backpack because it was not in plain view. Yes, I reported the filth to Guest Services.  Instead of giving me the beat down, be kind and help me find my bag, if you have a story like mine share it. If we live long enough we will make  mistakes, for those who have made them know how costly they can be.

Maybe it was lost in the piles of dust and dirt in your unkept, filthy room.

  5. The best dish ever doesnt exist anymore. The hen a la diavola from the Seaday brunch menu. It went the way of the dodo bird when they started throwing out the baby with the bathwater to save money after the 'rona. I hope they bring it back one day.

I agree 100 percent they emailed us on Tuesday before are Friday departure told us there was a problem said they would update us Thursday and then said they would update us Friday morning never did we got on then told us we weren’t leaving until Sunday at 4 it sucked because most bars were closed nothing really to do staff were saying they should have canceled us before we got on then Saturday afternoon they canceled it’s the same issue as last year is what I was told

    🤕

My brain hurts after attempting to read that.

  7. We just check everything and I just cram meds and other things into my backpack. Less hassle that way. The back pack I have been using lately was one I found laying in the stairwell on Venezia as we boarded her back in November.

B2Bs and every guest is required to clear the ship, the only persons there are those responsible for cleaning the staterooms. The are diligently cleaning cabins for the next guests.
Are there any security cameras in the hallways of the cruise ship?

Thats not always true. Sometimes CBP agents come on board the ship where B2B cruisers are staged and clear them there from the lounge.

First of all I’d like to say that I’m an avid cruiser with a Diamond status, therefore cruising is not new to me. Stop trying to protect the cabin steward, who we bless with over one hundred dollars per person sharing the cabin, he/she has a duty to keep us safe and our personal property secure. I’m not alone in leaving item(s) in the night stand, closet or even under the bed, the question here is what’s happening to our property when it’s left behind? If Carnival is no longer going to place items in a Lost and Found status then tell us that by putting it in writing. If you stayed or anyone you know stayed in this cabin and came across a black backpack please let me know. Thanks

How do you know the backpack wasn't turned into Lost and Found and given to shoreside personnel? You just blame anyone and everyone except yourself after you negligently left it in the stateroom or unwittingly set it down somewhere and forgot you even had it with you.

And if you are Diamond as you claim to be, you would already know the answers to the questions you are asking.

In completely unrelated news, I am really enjoying the backpack that I found just laying in the stairwell on the Venezia last November.

  9. Just curious. Would you have noticed this had you not looked at the map? Water is water no matter if you are doing circles there, north of there, south of there or east of there. You cant really tell a difference. A sea day is a sea day, especially when the port of call is so close.

Take a look at Radiance over out of Long Beach. It goes between LA and Catalina and Ensenada. That ship basically does circles all day every day just off the coast.

Actually, it will show up online... Under Booking & Order Details, go to View Invoice Details, scroll down to the On-Board Credits section, then click on the little down arrow.

Interesting. Stockholder OBC didn't used to show up on your documentation. Maybe it does now. It used to be just normal OBC showed up there.

Well OP, if thats the case, disregard what I said then.

I got the email that my stock was validated from Stockperks.......so...is that all I need to do, or do I have to submit to Carnival.

Thats all you need. It wont show up as OBC on your cruise documents, but it will be showing on your account when you board. You just have to trust the process that it will be there.

Lol I fired my Merrill lynch broker and now dont ask. I'm assuming you mean for those who dont know stocks. I now actually have a really good ubs broker, who matches me toe to toe and we can talk stocks. I do this for a living but I inherited a couple of trusts i manage and they have a broker. I enjoy talking stocks with him and as i said he matches me toe to toe unlike the dufus Merrill lynch assigned to me. He knows as much as i do. I daily follow the market.

For instance I'd bet $100 there was a leak of the inflation number at least a day early. That selling yesterday morning was institutional selling. They knew the number was hot and started to sell yesterday at open on no news.

At this price I'd buy if i wanted more ccl. Unless you believe they will go under this is a decent entry.

Yeah if you are a semi-pro like you are then go for it! "Novices" like those that just want stock for OBC should do a bit of research. $1500 is a lot of money for some people. For others, it is pocket change.

For me, you can call me more of an semi-amateur when it comes to stocks. I know enough about day trading to make a buck or two but also just enough to get myself in trouble. Which is why I have a broker. 😁  You know what they say about a little bit of knowledge being a dangerous thing ..

Installed the app........I have all my investments with FIDELITY......tried using the app...get a message that " Fidelity does not accept PLAID". Plaid being a program to verify ownership?? At a stand still here....help??

Go to their contact page. Maybe they have a process where you can manually upload your most recent Fidelity statement showing your CCL stock.

  14. 2 points. And this is advice is worth what you paid for it so take it for what it is...(or as my grandpa would always say, "Let me give you a nickel's worth of free advice")...

    1. I wouldn't take stock advice from CC or any public forum for that matter. Speak with your broker or financial advisor.

    2. I wouldn't buy CCL stock just for the $50 or $100 OBC you could get (depending on sailing length). Think about how many cruises you would have to take just to break even on your inital stock purchase price. Sounds like you just want to buy the stock for OBC and not as an investment. 100 shares isn't going to make you rich and the ROI just for OBC isn't really worth it, to be honest.
