  1. I just checked our my.siversea to attach a screen shot of our itinerary - and there lo and behold it says we will be in the MO again. Hopefully it will be warm enough for a day by the pool Sorry, the attachment may not be readable 🙂
  2. It definitely says overnight in Santiago with a transfer to the airport the next day, Maybe they are now doing the overnight due to problems with passengers making the evening flight last year. In that case we certainly would not have made our LATAM flight! It would be nice if it was the MO for our last night, but as long as we have the use of the room until our late night flight out the next day, I'm happy with the airport HI 🙂
  3. Yes, hopefully American will stick with their schedule! If I hadn't called SS about LATAM changing our flight, I would not have known about the extra night. It is also now showing up in our MySilversea page. I agree, this is most strange. I sincerely hope that just as the extra night appeared spontaneously it doesn't just suddenly disappear again! I will keep you posted 🙂
  4. On Seabourn we had both the Captains party and the loyalty party - it's a smaller ship so maybe that's why they are doing the parties again, but it was really nice to attend them again. The glass of fizz at dinner, and the bottle of Pol Acker in your cabin really just doesn't do it for me.
  5. They did give us 2 months notice, not the 4 days I saw people got for the propeller issue. They suggested 3 other cruises for which we would receive 150 pounds on board credit each. We were unable to switch to these cruises, and they didn't fit in with our flights we had booked from the US to the UK for the cruise :(. Annoying!
  6. They decided to do an early dry dock for the ship. Quite annoying!
  7. I know it's weird. I still can't work out why we get the extra day in Santiago! This was the 6th time LATAM had changed our flights, and I was getting anxious that with all of the changes, we could end up missing the charter flight, so I cancelled with a full refund (which we haven't seen yet) and switched to American Airlines. Of course, there's no guarantee that AA will be any better 🙂
  8. We have booked our own air, and I got a call from LATAM to say they had changed the time of our flight from an evening one to a late afternoon one. I called SS to see if the earlier flight would be OK, and they said that we were actually staying overnight in Santiago the last night of the cruise. This was the first I had heard of it, and sure enough on the MySilversea page there is the notification for the Simply hotel for that night. I just checked, and it still doesn't say which hotel.
  9. I just got confirmation that we will be staying at the Mandarin Oriental on the night before our November 27th Silver Cloud Antartica cruise. It still doesn't show which hotel we will be at for the night in Santiago at the end of our cruise.
  10. From what I have been told by Silversea, there is actually no increase in the luggage allowance, so it's going to have to be 2 suitcases. I have just done the packing for our November 27th cruise, to see what we can and can't take. Our boots do fit in to our 2 bags, and we have managed to limit ourselves to the 2 suitcases, but we are at the limit of the weight allowed, and I had to leave things out that weren't necessary, but I like to take along on cruises. We will certainly have to be wearing those red parkers when we fly home!
  11. Well, they cancelled the cruise! I was not happy 😞
  12. Thanks! Hopefully it will be the same for our November 27th trip 🙂
  13. Thanks! It's just in case Silver Cloud runs out of champagne, I like to know I have something I can drink...............................
  14. Yes, it is confusing! On April 29th, 2021 they say that the allowance will be 8Kg and 23Kg, then on April 21, 2022 they say that there will be a "greater luggage allowance", but don't define what that is :). It would be nice to know what exactly the allowance is so we can pack accordingly!
  15. Forgive me if someone has asked this before, I couldn't find a thread on this matter. The information for the charter flights from Santiago to Puerto Williams states that you are allowed "23 kilos of checked luggage, plus a hand luggage allowance of 8 kilos enhancing the journey". Has anyone experienced what happens if your luggage exceeds these restrictions? Are you able to pay for an extra bag if necessary? Does anyone know what type of plane they are using?
  16. I ended up making refundable bookings at the MO and the Ritz - with the US$ being so strong at the moment, the rates at both hotels were very good. However, knowing my luck, the $ will probably plunge just as it is time to pay for the booking. I do wish they would let us know well in advance!
  17. If they have regular classic Coke I will be in good shape! Hopefully they do 🙂
  18. Can anyone let me know if they have Coca Cola products on the Silver Cloud? Thanks!
  19. We are on The November 27th Silversea Cloud, and will be arriving in Santiago one day before, just in case we have issues with our flights. We still do not know what hotel Silversea will be using - the MO and Ritz Carlton both sound OK, maybe I should just go ahead and make a refundable booking at both!
  20. The security staff are very evident on Scarlet Lady at the moment - not intrusive, but I keep on seeing them around the ship. They were called out on 2 occasions in the middle of the night a few nights ago (it may have been twice to the same incident), but I have not personally seen them in action.
  21. The weather so far isn't bad - I think we headed south just in time. The storm is due to hit the Dominican Republic tomorrow which is when we should have been there. Yay for going to Mexico!
  22. When we arrived in our cabin there was a letter describing the Sea Rover perks we will be getting on this cruise. It looks like we only get one bottle of Moet and 1 bag of laundry, but we both get the upgraded internet which is great!
  23. Due to Tropical Storm Fiona, the Scarlet Lady Dominican Daze itinerary has been changed, We will now be stopping in Costa Maya instead of Puerto Plata. I am sorry to miss the Dominican Republic, but of course am happy we are trying to miss the storm! At the moment we are sailing past Havana on our way south.
