  1. Thanks for the quick response. So you got the premium? I think I could do that. More stuff to think about.:)

I actually bought the ultimate thinking it was the same as a year ago where ultimate got you premium liquor like greygoose but it's not like that anymore. I at least drank enough pelligreno water to cover the extra cost of the ultimate package; never had fresh juice and only a few lattes but lots of martinis to make the package worth it. :)

  2. So, i thought the difference between the premium and the ultimate was the alcohol price. They don't give you coffee, or juice with the premium?

Nope, both package has a $12 price limit. However, I only paid the extra dollar amount once. I had most of my drinks at the R Bar and they were very nice and never charged the extra. No coffee or juice or sparkling water with premium.

  3. Also, liquor wise, there is no difference between premium and ultimate package like there used to be. The only difference is coffee, fresh juice, and sparkling water so if you don't drink these on a regular basis, buy the premium package.

  4. Technically they say 20% off onboard rates so if they are truthful, you should see the premium package for sale for about 58 and change on the ship when actually sail. Time will tell.

I asked the C&A rep yesterday on the phone what happens if the price of the Ultimate package when I walk on the Liberty on June 19th is $59 per day instead of the supposed $67 per day that I'm "given" the 20% off of, will they recalculate my 20% off of the $59 and the basic answer was no. I was just told that if the price is lower then the $67 per day when I board, I can always cancel and rebook; however, by then, there won't be a 20% discount. Duh!

  5. My SIL was on the Liberty for her Mediterranean cruise and swears there was a Starbucks on the ship and said she remembered being shocked that there was one. I asked if she confused it with the Oasis but she says no.

Anyways, if there is no Starbucks, is there like a Seatle's Best like the Navigator or Mariner?

  6. Saw this offer on cruise personalizer, should we jump on it? We had been thinking about adding drink package, but usually wait till boarding. 7 nights, $200 savings for 2.

If you save that much, I would jump on it now. Prices keep changing. If it goes lower, you can always cancel and rebook but if it goes up, you've lost your chance at the lower price. I just got off the phone with C&A and I was told that on board prices have increased for the "summer season".

  7. We did too. Actually got about 23.5% off based on the math. Told C/S this and they said they were aware of the problem and that the $310 would be honored.

How did you get so lucky to talk to someone who actually honored the price? My group members have called in multiple times, talked to multiple people including supervisors and they've all said NO.

  8. Maybe someone onboard now can confirm if the "onboard" price is higher?

I posted on the May 8th sailing meet and mingle thread to please take a picture of the beverage pricing on the Liberty of the Seas. Maybe everyone can ask for this on whatever ship you're sailing on and see if it's the same or different. I am hoping someone will do the favor and we'll know Sunday after they board.

  9. There has to be something wrong here; this is definitely unethical but is it illegal marketing practice? We are on going in June and several members in my group purchased the Ultimate last week for $357 and now other members in my group are being quoted $438....that's 18.5% higher. One group member was told by a supervisor that prices increased all across the board as of May 1st. So Royal definitely increased their prices by around 20% so they can give us a discount of 20%. Last week, I saw the price of $59 for the ultimate package (before discount); today, it's listed as $54 on their website and this is with the 20% discount. That would put the regular price at $67.50 a day.

  10. Maybe that is the bar for people who have had so much to drink that they sit there THINKING they are at a bar. Must be some great conversations occuring there.

Thanks for the laugh. Hopefully, I will have a great day today!
