Drake, is Freedom city beach rocky or is it nice and smooth? Thanks.

I just spoke with CT about a private tour for 4 to the Blue Hole, was quoted $59 per person including the entry cost for the BH. We are sailing into Montego Bay, and was wondering if it was worth the time we will have to travel from MB to get to the BH? I have been told the drive could take up to 2 hours each way, our ship arrives in port at 9am and departs at 6pm.

I had a private tour with CT this past August to the BH. Our ship docked in Falmouth (a little closer to Ocho Rios than MB) and the trip took about 1 hour 15 minutes. Our group was very apprehensive about the length of time to get their but everyone said it was well worth it on the return trip back to our ship. We spent so much time at the Blue Hole that we ended up skipping the beach stop; our group preferred to stay longer at the BH. CT will make sure they get you back to the ship on time.

I'm pretty sure that the only thing different between half and full day is that full day sails back to a beach on st. Croix for a beach barbecue.

 

All half day trips will do an hour of snorkeling and an hour of Turtle Beach time.

Does anyone know what the difference in the excursion is for the half vs the full day asides from the length of time? Just wondering if half day would allow for enough time to snorkel and have beach time.

Thanks, I will. Is Cool Runnings very much like Calabaza? Do you know what the maximum number of people per excursion is? Their sites says a limited number but doesn't state how many.

Hi Sliderturk99, are you on the June 13 AOS cruise? We will be on that and have emailed Gina to see if there's availability but with only 12 people limit; I'm afraid we will be out of luck on this one.

A taxi to Rodney Bay, straight to Reduit Beach, is $30us one Way. Some unlicensed drivers so pirate the route and will charge less, but they are unlicensed and driving up prices by doing so.

You can try for the public bus.to Rodney Bay which is about a buck US one way, drops you off at the outskirts of RB and you can walk to beach in about 10-15 minutes. The bus stop for RB is behind the craft market, any local can point you in the right direction.

I just had a tour with Courtney Taylor on August 7th. I had a group of 56 booked and we had three vehicles; 2 buses and a mini van. Our ship docked in Falmouth and we went to Blue Hole in Ocho Rios. For a group as large as ours, Courtney Taylor and company did great. I will say that Samantha who was my contact person the whole time was a big hit amongst my group. The group that rode in her bus had a blast! My bus was decent but we didn't get the same entertainment that the other bus got. Courtney drive the mini van and I didn't get feedback from the small group that rode with him.

Samantha was great in communicating with me to set up our plans. We were given instructions on where to look for them at the pier but of course, I forgot to bring my printout so I just asked where I could find him and they pointed me to the area where the independent tour companies waited. As soon as I approached the group, Samantha figured out it was me with the posse following behind me. Also, they wore shirts that had Courtney Taylor tours on it and they all had badges identifying themselves so I definitely knew I had the right person.

It was a long drive from Falmouth to Blue Hole in Ocho Rios but it was well worth it! The Blue Hole was a big hit with our group from the 4 year old to the 50 yr old. We had plans to go do some shopping, maybe also go to a beach for a little bit, and have lunch at Scotchies. We spent so much time at the Blue Hole that we basically had to skip everything else and just grabbed lunch, which we submitted 48 orders to Samantha prior to the cruise so that it would be ready when we got there. We had just enough time to get back to the ship with about 40 minutes to do some shopping at the pier. They did take us to a small shop to buy souvenir type stuff but we only got about 20 min due to our group not wanting to leave the Blue Hole.

Overall, they were great and took care of our LARGE group well! I would highly recommend them.
