  1. This same message has happened to many of us. It is randomly happening on various cruises - some you are price checking, some in "my cruises" - but not always all of them.

You have to completely clear all RCI Royal Caribbean related cookies. It's possible to do this without clearing all cookies, if you know how. This is not to be confused with clearing your history or cache. That won't do it. If you miss just one relevant cookie used by RCI, you may continue to have the problem.

This went on for me for days. I cleared my Royal Caribbean cookies and gained partial access to sites that gave me that same error message. I went back in and found some other cookies that stated other things to do with RCI, "creative" which is part of RCI's info and I was able to gain full access to their website again with no further issues.

I had the problem with google chrome and to a lesser degree safari. They both work perfectly now.

If you don't know how to clear cookies selectively, doing a full clear is fine. I wasn't willing to loose all of mine so did it piece by piece through google chrome advanced settings.

I'm a Chrome user and had cleared cookies prior to receiving the message. I logged out and waited half and hour and all was good.

  2. I received something in the mail a few weeks ago with Carnival's name on it. It wasn't a letter, but rather a bulk rate type of mailing that had to be opened by tearing the perforations on the sides. It looked like a third party mailing with strings attached, so my wife tossed it.:eek:

It couldn't have been a REAL free cruise, I've never won anything in my life. :D

  3. The last time that I bought a Citizen watch I got much better pricing on both St. Thomas and St. Maarten than what they wanted for it on the ship. Pricing on the islands is negotiable. It is not aboard ship.

I agree completely. I got a great deal on my Citizen on St. Thomas. If you can't negotiate the deal you want at one jewelry shop, just go to the next one. ;)

  4. Awww! NICE!! Congratulations DS:D:D Well, I will continue to look and keep an eye on it. It's not that we can't afford it, but that is JUST for the cruise. Once we add on airfare, excursions, drinks:rolleyes:, and souveniers, I have a feeling we'll be closer to $7000-$7500:eek:

    Ya only live once, right?

Thanks again, and enjoy your cruise!

Thanks! Since this is our first RCCL cruise, we had to get over a little "sticker shock" as well, but we had frequent flier miles to offset some of the cost. Good luck and enjoy!!:D

  5.:eek::eek: Do you mind me asking you if you are pulling DS out of school, or is he younger? Lucky!!!! DD is in HS now, so not as easy to pull her out, but she has a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day, so we figured she'd only miss 3 days:o Grrrrr.....

He's a senior and graduates May 8, which does make a difference. Our schools have missed quite a few days this year due to snow, but as a senior, he does not have to make them up. He graduates May 8 regardless.

  6. Would love to hear recommendations also. Are there any hotels that have free transportation to the port? I am willing to pay a little extra if the place is nice and near stuff to do. I am considering 2 nights so kind of want a place near the beach. Been doing some Trip Advisor research, is it even possible to get a hotel on the beach AND near the port?

The Lago Mar Resort is on the beach and close to the port. We'll be staying there in May. You'll pay a bit more than some of the others, but if you want to be on the beach, it's worth it.

  7. We're staying overnight at Lago Mar Resort prior to our cruise in May and would like to eat at Coconuts that night. It looks like Coconuts is no more than two miles from the resort. Does anyone know if Lago Mar has a courtesy shuttle, or will we need a taxi for this? I guess we could walk if we're feeling adventurous. ;)

    Thanks!

  8. We'll be staying one night before our cruise at the Lago Mar Resort in Fort Lauderdale and would like to eat dinner at Coconuts. From the research I've done, Coconuts appears to be no more than two miles from the resort. Does anyone know if Lago Mar has a courtesy shuttle, or will a taxi be required? I guess we could walk there if we're feeling adventurous. ;)

    Thanks!

  9. We are arriving in Fort Lauderdale on March 20th, our cruise on the Allure starts Sunday the 23rd. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on things to do, or great places to eat while in Fort Lauderdale. We will have a rental car so getting around will be ok.

I think Allure leaves on Sundays, so you could go to the beach Saturday afternoon and watch ships leave port. Coconuts is not far from there, they have good food.

  10. My son ran into a classmate on a cruise in 2008. Another funny story - back when we sailed the NCL SS Norway, I was able to meet a "celebrity" -- it was Gary Sandy, who played program director Andy Travis on WKRP in Cincinnati. I mentioned to him that I knew Frank Bonner (who played Herb Tarlek) because I went to HS with his daughter. He knew Frank's daughter as well, so we ended up talking quite a while. It made for an interesting connection.

  11. This is a simple SIP client (VoIP service) and yes you would have to log in to the WiFi so I would think there would be a cost.

While it's most certainly a SIP-enabled app, it would cost the cruise line nothing to permit ad-hoc calling and texting on the ship. I would think the only time you'd have to pay for wifi is when you want to use the Internet. Neat idea, though.

  12. I agree with cb at sea, but if you're concerned, look for a catamaran/snorkel excursion NOT sponsored by the cruise line. I don't want to give out the URL (CC Policy), but you can easily find it on Google. Last time we were in St. Thomas, there were six ships, and we took this excursion and had a great time. The downtown crowd should thin out by late afternoon, so you'll have time for shopping, too.
