All is good folks. The Islanders, to answer the question, I just wanted to say hello and chat with some NCL cruises. No advice, no questions...just to chat was all.
Ok, now back to your regular scheduled channel...:)
Allow me to reiterate.
I did not mean to be rude or "obtuse". I just did not understand the purpose of the thread.
Welcome to the NCL family and we hope you enjoy as much as we do.
-
And now, you have earned the "ignore" feature. Bon Voyage.
And now my heart is truly broken.
I just asked a simple question.
Looks like a newbie is just eager to build their thread counts.
Sorry to all who have seen this.

I'm sure you don't mean to be obtuse, but you ARE.
The purpose of this thread is, presumably that the OP just wanted to share his/her good news and to say "hello" to the members of this board, as opposed to already being familiar with the posters on the RCI, CCL and Disney boards.
What is wrong with that? nothing...
To the OP - welcome aboard. Happy to hear your news! And I LOVE your avatar by the way...LOL....
Hope you enjoy all the planning, and your upcoming cruise on the Sun. I have not sailed the SUN but from what I understand, terrific ship and crew.
I THOUGHT the purpose of CC was the useful exchange of information amongst cruisers. The OP neither asked for or offered any.

I don't mean to be rude but, what is the purpose of this thread?

Check out our thread "NCL Food Porn". This may help.

Hate to be negative but don't do the "St John Island Tour" ($69). It is a long boring drive around the island. You get some nice views of beaches but that is about it. No beach time, no shopping except one 15 minute stop at a bar/shop and the whole time hearing about land "that was once, owned, by a man, who went, by the name, of Mr. Nelson Rockefeller".
We heard that so many times we still joke about it. This glass was once, owned, by a man, etc. :D

Nice pics Mickey! Thanks for sharing. :)

Awesome pics! Do you think it would be ok to expand to pics of the menu selections, too?
Once we get back in May, we'll be sure to post lots of pics.
Thanks!
Sure, why not. Not really food porn but not off topic.
BTW... if you are at the buffet and you SEE a chocolate croissant, TAKE one. They tend to run out of 'em... and they're very yummy.Never see them. :(
(just figured out how to multi-quote) :o

Wow I love this thread! Yay food porn! I'll be on EPIC leaving 2/9 and will be sure to take some pics to share. :D
Please do. Would love to see them.

Thanks Mike! Excellent pics!
Anyone else?

I believe these will be new ports for NCL.
Give them a little time and I'm sure they'll appear.
They certainly are not going to turn away your excursion money! :p
-
when can I start eating that food?
That depends on how long it will take you to walk to the MDR or buffet. :D
Many times there are servers walking around at embarkation with samples from the different restaurants so that will shorten your "wait time".

Pretty easy.
Click on your username.
Click on "customize profile"
Click on "edit signature"
Type your past cruises, witty quotes, etc in box
Click "save changes"
Also look for "countdown clocks" and pick the one(s) you like and enter info.
Happy cruising!

Thought we had more NCL foodies on here. :(

Very first post?
Does NCL even do a 7 night cruise with only one port day?
hmmmmmm
I concur.
First post, no stats, seems kind of hokey.

Call me crazy, but how hard is it to dip a strawberry in chocolate? I can't understand the excitement over that. With that aside, I am loving some of the more luxurious or complex dishes shown here. This thread gives me added excitement for my cruise!
It is not that they are difficult to make, it is that they look as good as they taste. :p

Sonntags,
Great pics. Thanks for posting.

Hello were the majority of the dishes from the MDR? I am a tad bedaffled! I am cruising the Sun to Alaska and have been researching NCL and it's food really takes a beating. Now I have not sailed NCL but have on Celebrity, RCCL and Carnival and these pics look pretty similar to what I've experienced on those lines. I have been debating between sticking with only the specialty restaurants and purchasing the UDP or giving the MDR a whirl? Not a proclaimed foodie...but we are on vacation so would like to enjoy dinner nightly.
Thanks for all you time posting these pics
Patty
From the best of our recollection, the majority is from the MDR from the 4 ships we have been on. We too have seen the bad reviews but we can honestly say we have never had anything so bad we had to send it back. There are some things we enjoyed more than others but, that is the case anywhere you go.
We are not just being NCL cheerleaders. Living it the Chicago area, we know good food when we eat it!

TY for this thread! After so many cruises with Carnival, I was a little worried how
the food would be on Norwegian. This thread put me at ease
because everything looks so fantastic! I have to show my husband
when he gets home from work. :D
Glad you enjoyed it. You are exactly the type of person we started it for.

Do you cruise more to enjoy the ship or more for the ports?

Being somewhat new cruisers (going on our 6th), we want to see new ships and new ports as much as possible.
Going on the Sun again because of the of the ports.
Always looking for something new.
