We were on a cruise once where the family brought on a little cot. It folded up like an umbrella stroller so they just carried it on.

Hello there CM1984.
You might consider booking a spa room next time - I always so when on a ship with a nice spa area and then it's included and close by,

5. Have your PVP link the two cruises - and if your friend can get switched to early dining - you will automatically be seated together if they're linked.

The Joy is a beautiful ship. Book a Mid ship cabin because they only have 2 sets of elevators vs 3+ atrium elevator on most carnival ships.

So the Crystal Caves are just visiting cave? No Cenote to go swimming in? (They're beautiful if you haven;t been to a cave. Not knocking it! I just live in the Cave State of Missouri home to over 7,000 caves)

Nothing like returning from vacation to find out your principal has eliminated the teacher librarian position for the next school year.
I'm so sorry! Hopefully it wasn't out of jealousy. I know someone who was a cruiser and she didn't get a promotion because her co-workers thought she cruised too much.

Hi Brnsofia - I know it seems intimidating at first - but follow the crowds. Sit with others at dinner and maybe they are planning same thing. Also, are you on a roll call for your trip? Its a great way to get to know others traveling same week as you. Sometimes people coordinate via their roll call. Cruise Critic has a place for Roll Calls (look for sailing date and ship) as well as other social networking sites like Fb.

I also carry on my bag, so no need for luggage tags. Do they still mail tags to your home?
NCL hasn't mailed tags home in over a decade. That I'm aware. It's possible you used a travel agent at some point and they sent you them.

Medina has had the best brunch (and waffles!) in the city since they opened, and frankly still do despite many new spots opening which have upped our average brunch game significantly.
Thank you Martincath! Going to make a brunch reservation for there! We're staying at the Hilton which appears to be across the street.

One of the WPYR employees was doing some safety control and I saw that her name tag said she was from Texas. She works 6 months of the year for the WPYR and six months as a butcher in Springfield Missouri. Her name is Ellen and she was a pleasure to chat with.
I am so curious about Ellen. I live in Springfield and wonder where on earth she works 6 months as a Butcher! (we aren't planning on going on the train - i do get trainsick - or I would try and find her)

I am just complaining about the most difficult online check in I have ever experienced. This was my first with NCL since 2019 and the additional adding of a photo is ridiculous. They have made it very difficult to check in another passenger as well. My aunt is in her mid 70s. She doesnt live close or have internet. Sure she goes to the Library to use it but she doesn't know how to add the app or get a password for logging on. I've asked her to do - and she hasn't. You can't even add someone else credit card info - you can do the safety video for someone but not add a CC???! Seriously! I had to delete my cc info and select to add her to mine - but it was not clear that had to do that to get the option (back because when I did my check in - I didn't select to add her as I thought I was adding her cc). AND the photo was so difficult. It thought every pic I took of me was blurry with my phone and camera. Should have option to add photo upon check in. Thank you for listening 🙂

Taking an Alaskan Cruise on the Konigsdam out of Vancouver in July (yay!) I did search, but the last thread about the Vancouver Cruise Port is almost a year old. First time in Canada. How do I need to prepare for embarkation? We'll have gone through Canadian customs the day before - hen we go through US customs for the cruise? And the day we leave, we go through US Customs at the airport, so no need to go through customs again when we fly through Seattle?
Did you check the West Coast departure board? there's tons of Vancouver stuff there.

In the process of trying to figure this out I saw that NCL policy has:
SINGLE OCCUPANCY COVERAGE The Company will reimburse You for the additional cost incurred during the Trip as a result of a change in the per person occupancy rate for pre-paid Travel Arrangements if a person booked to share accommodations with You has his/her Trip delayed, canceled, or interrupted for a covered reason and You do not cancel. This benefit is subject to the same Maximum Benefit indicated above

Your aunt cancels and files an insurance claim. It is critical that she understand exactly what documentation she needs. It is more than a simple note from a doctor. The doctor needs to complete paperwork.
Thank you. With Carnival it was just dr note. And we canceled whole trip. I will look into !

My apologies but I couldn’t search with my IPad. What happens when one person is sick and unable to cruise but the other person wants to? Background is my aunt has been ill recently and she is worried her physician may say she can’t go. I still would go but wondered how that works.

Similar thing happened to me with Air France. I rang them and told them the new flights were unacceptable and gave them alternatives. All hail google flights 🙂
Ask ... they can only say no. Be cheeky and ask them to stump up for an overnight hotel.
I was going to suggest the same thing. Be prepared with what flight times you want and call. That happened to me and I called and got my flight changed. If the airline changes your flight you have so much time that you can request flight changes.

There used to be a rule about the main dining room that Jeans weren't allowed. Is there any restaurants that do not allow Jeans?

I'm an inside Cabin preferred BUT for Alaska - Balcony is a must Out of 15+ cruises - I have done a balcony twice. First Alaska was not a balcony and I swore next time it would be a balcony and it was worth it. It's nice to just sit in your room looking out. I prefer Alaska when it's cooler but even July it was nice to sit in the room and watch.

I would look for some Alaska products and you will see lots of places pushing that. I recall a store in ISP in 2019 (precovid). I personally like to buy Canadian cookies and bring those back - in Prince Rupert there is a grocery just up the hill from the pier. Salmon would be the thing to bring back from Alaska.

I tried to look through previous post and didn't see this question asked...
I know if you really want an excursion - it is best to book before boarding. Can you change this tour once onboard (it would be at least 24 hours before the excursion)? I know on another line you can and I wasn't sure what NCL policy was.
Thanks!

Thanks for this info! I don't remember filling out a special needs request last cruise, but I'll probably have to do it for our upcoming one. Luckily, the allergies are to nuts/peanuts, which are well-labeled and easy to spot compared to other allergens.

Has anybody heard if the Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier portion of this trip is cancelled? I heard some September dates had it cancelled.
Probably a question for Alaska board 😁
