  1. The exact same thing happened to me for our upcoming March cruise (high inventory time). We had 5 in a Haven 2 Bdr, which takes a max of 6. I had advised my PCC at the original time of purchase that I would eventually be adding the sixth, but when the time came there was no room left due to lifeboat seats.

It took them a while of wrangling and reorganization, but eventually it was resolved to my favour.

Press your PCC and have him/her speak to their supervisors and them to inventory management. It is your only hope.

  2. Let's see... my well-tipped Butlers have:

    • located and retrieved a misplaced backpack

    • brought us (without asking) hot chocolate and warmed towels when we were returning from a very chilly excursion and also ran us a hot bath

    • retrieved a meal from the main dining room when a parent had to dash a sick child back to the cabin

    • arranged for the chef in a specialty restaurant to prepare a dessert that was removed from the menu (a joint effort with the concierge)

    • arranged for the chef in the main dining room to prepare my favourite meal (this was a surprise!)

    • acted a liaison with concierge, when concierge was hard to locate

    • got my kids specially decorated fruity drinks during the Captain's Reception

    • tailored our snacks to our tastes

    What my un-well-tipped Butler did:

    • falsely accused my teenager of stealing the "pool closed for the night" sign from the Courtyard. She did not. I wasn't impressed.

  3. Hi there and sorry for re-posting.

I am looking for the dailies of the Epic Western that goes: Port Canaveral, Cozumel, George Town, Ocho Rios, then Great Stir-Up Cay.

The previous ones posted were great, but they were for the cruise in the opposite direction, and there are differences in times of shows, etc.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me to them or post them.

    THANKS!

  4. Has anyone ever used the Spa and got their teeth whitened? I am looking for how it went, were there any complications, would you do it again?

    Thanks!:D

I had it done on the Gem, and it burned the crap out of the inside of my lips. I admit to having very sensitive skin, but this was beyond anything I could have imagined to have happen.

  5. My reason for posting this was to see if others have had disappointments during their Haven experience, given the much higher price over regular staterooms and the hype that you see pre-cruise.

No. Having sailed in the Haven for six cruises thus far - we have never had any disappointments during our Haven experience. Your situation is unusual, and I am having a hard time getting my head around any of it.

  6. I understand that getting up and out of the room in the am and/or being rushed on vacation is not a good thing, but clearing out by 1:00pm isn't exactly early or hard to accommodate.

You should have complained to the Hotel Director about the attitude issue, and been informed that you need to get out of your room by 1:00pm if you want it cleaned for the day.

  7. We did it on the Gem. It was a lovely sail over to Abi; a dingy ride to the beach; and a pretty nice time there. There were lots of lounge chairs, a beach bar, volleyball, paddle boards, trees for shade, etc.

Quite oddly, they beached and tethered the dingy right in the middle of the beach - so people had to swim around it, which was both stupid and inconvenient... but other than that - it was kind of a perfect beach day.

  8. I can't compare lines, but I've been on the Gem (sister ship to the Jewel) in the Haven several times. It is lovely there. Your Butler and Courtyard Attendant will be attentive. Your room will be beautiful. The specialty restaurants will be great; and the MDRs and Buffet and Poolside Grill will all be much more than good. There will be many fun onboard activities.

14 days is a long time to be anywhere, but the Haven is a very good choice.

    Go and enjoy yourself.

  9. The UBP perk for suites is built into the fare so we do pay for the UBP and service fee associated but just in a higher priced cruise fare.

I'm not sure what this means. Do Haven guests not pay the 18%? Can someone please explain what this means?

(Because that would be awesome news!)
