  1. We just got off the Enchantment and weren’t asked about health by anyone before boarding.  Tried to show my vaccination cards but they didn’t want to look at them.  Filled out the pre-boarding check-in for health on app.  I took cough drops because I have allergies and was afraid I would start coughing.  I did have some reaction to either the sheets on the bed or the disinfectant they used on the ship.  I got patches of itchy red splotches on my chest and throat and a few on my face.  My Sister had the same issue.  They would come and go.  Boleros lounge was the worst.  If either smelled musty or had been sprayed down a lot.  I couldn’t stay in there because it bothered me.  One night we were late leaving the theater and they announced for everyone to please leave so they could disinfect the area for the next show.  Didn’t get Covid while on the ship so no complaints.

We first visited in San Juan in 2015, and enjoyed seeing the cats around Old San Juan. After the hurricane, we too wondered what had happened to them.

You'll be glad to know that they seem to have made it through just fine. We stopped there on a cruise this past March, and walked the Paseo de la Princesa around the fort. The cats were there, and by all appearances, were thriving!

Old San Juan is beautiful. I love the colonial Spanish architecture.

Well, I made it back on board from my adventure into San Juan... This is a good thing, because at one point, I thought that some locals had drugged us, and were going to harvest our organs... But, back to the beginning... We arrived earlier than expected, and were off the ship and into old San Juan within minutes... We wandered the beautiful streets, which are paved with bricks that look centuries old...

The meat looks a perfect medium rare!  Sorry it didn’t taste as good as it looked.

I get the pan nice and hot, then add a little olive oil... Just enough to coat the bottom of the pan... No seasonings other than fresh crushed sea salt and fresh cracked pepper...

    Thanks, Sid!

Thanks for posting rather than just lurking... Yes, I do like to get out on the motorcycle on the nice days all winter long. As for the steak. I usually buy one between a pound and a pound and a half. Depending on how thick it is, I predetemine a time in my head. For a pound, about 4 1/2 minutes on each side. For bigger, bone in steaks, usually 5 or 6 minutes per side. I like it medium rare, and I don't touch or move it at all except for flipping once... Most of the time it turns out just right. Sometimes, I slightly under or over cook it, but I still eat it anyway...

I notice you use a cast iron pan.  Do you put any oil in the pan?  I have never been great at cooking steaks.  This encourages me to try again.  The times you mentioned will help a lot. Do you ever use blackening seasonings on the steak?
