Steve works with about 9 companies that he feels comfortable working with. He does work with GeoBlue, however, Washington State doesn't allow them to sell in Washington for some reason.

I usually go with TravelSafe Classic for my travel needs.

Yes, I've had claims. Yes, they were successful. Yes, Steve will help if needed with the claim. Actually he has assisted some people on here who didn't purchase thru him but the people they did buy from refused to help.

He does not have an annual plan, I wonder why he is not comfortable with Allianz, so many people are very pleased with it.

Could be a business practice that IMT has decided that some companies they no longer choose to do business with. I know Steve at TIS has said so for his business model.

I imagine there could be many factors weighing in on a decision like this. From lowering commission rates to making the Terms and Conditions of a covered claim so onerous as to never pay a valid claim and the business no long wish to associate themselves or their clients to bad faith practices.

I know Steve does not offer the Allianz annual policy.  Do you know why?

In the United States, we have Labor day too and most touristy areas and places with alot of tourists open retail stores and restaurants, etc to attract  tourists and their money on Labor Day. As I said I think it was extremely poor planning on the city of Sydney, as they lost so much potential money lrom the ship passengers and crew that day. Also poor planning on Norwegian too.

Remember, this is not the United states, and money may not be the priority on a national holiday.

My recent cruise caused me to wonder about the direction Celebrity is headed. The Summit is a well maintained vessel with staff that is very friendly. The quality of the food was good.

There were, however, several areas of major concern. One, the dress code has become a total joke. Celebrity promotes itself as a "luxury" line but allows its passengers to dress inappropriately in various dining venues. Shorts, which are banned at dinner, were often noticed in the main dining room. Although tank tops and baseball caps are prohibited in the speciality dining rooms, patrons were wearing both when I ate in the Sushi on Five dining venue. Why have codes if they are never enforced? Two,they continue to downgrade the benefits offered to the Captain's Club higher tier members. They have a limited drink menu from 5 - 7 PM at the bars. This means you have about a 30 minute window to enjoy your benefit if you have the 5:30 PM seating. Wow, you spend tens of thousands of dollars for cruises and are given a 30 minute window! Three, they are beginning to recycle headliner entertainment. Three of the acts were the exact same ones we saw on the Constellation in February. Can't Celebrity offer a more diverse selection? Four, the entree selection number has been reduced as well as the serving sizes. Several nights saw only four selections for entrees when there used to be six or seven.

I am an Elite Plus CC member and this was my twentieth Celebrity cruise. I wonder if it is time to switch to Princess or other similar lines?

It sounds to me that for you, it is time to switch.

Was this offered every night?  Or was this the Captain’s Club Celebration (a once-per-cruise special event)?

On every cruise I've been on in the last 6 months it has been just the one night of the Captain's club party.

Well the stores are not open every day, for one thing. A trip to the infirmary often incurs a fee.   Guest Services is there 24/7

Sometimes the lines at guest services are long and slow. If you are not feeling well, it might make you feel worse to wait in line, so you might want to stock up before you cruise.

I just watched part of a YouTube video by some rather annoying guys, recording in one of the Beyond pools.  Do I have to worry about influencers, TikTok stars etc taking over the ship?  I don’t have a problem sharing space but I’m not leaving a space to make it more convenient for them.

No, you do not have to worry

Peteymil-Do you tip in cash or out it on the bill? If they bring you a complimentary drink in the casino, I think that it would be cash...  Just wondering.

    Kathy

Yes, I always bring a bunch of ones on the cruise so I give them a dollar, OR, if I don't have a dollar they are happy to take a $1 chip, which is a very common way for people at the tables to tip.

I have a couple of questions about the drinks in the casino:

    1. Are they free if you are gambling?

    2. If they are "free" if you are gambling - can you order anything to drink (i.e. something that would fall under the Premium Drink Package)?

    3. We are on a blue chip offer and were told that drinks in the casino are "free" - is that anything different if drinks are "free" while gambling or can I just go to teh casino bar and get a free drink without gambling?

    Thanks.

They are free while gambling.  I often will go to the bar and ask for a drink and have had no problem, but I do get to know (and tip) the servers in the casino.

We usually do not have any such experiences. We are pleased with Blu.   However, on Solstice, they reserved a group of tables for 10 cruisers which started from the windows.  These 5 tables were empty until around 6:45 pm when the individuals  began to show.  Most nights, there were about 6 out of the 10 dining there.    We were told they were "reserved".

That would infuriate me if I wanted to eat when those tables were empty. I would definitely go to guest services if that happened to speak to the proper person if the maître d' could not help me.

I had a similar issue about a year ago. I called guest relations at that time. Nothing was done.

On that cruise, the guests in question were in their early 20s. On this cruise, they are in their early 50s. I don't know which set of guests would be more likely to abide a security officer telling them to quiet down.

If it happens again, I would call security immediately and ask them to come up. I've had this happen in a hotel, and they've immediately come up. I watchedthe security guard stand by their door, and when he was convinced that it was disruptive immediately knocked on the door. It certainly is worth a try.

    Do you really care?

You are arguing about something that is meaningless

On my last Celebrity cruise at dinner we observed:

    Shorts

    Swimwear

Wet coverups- assume over a wet swimsuit

    Muscle shirts

T-shirts with racial, profane and political messages

    Sweatpants

    Bare feet

About all I can say is everyone wore clothing.  Nobody topless - male or female

We refused to be seated with a male with what my DW felt was a rude t-shirt.

    Movin on.

I’m sorry but this is not believable. Swimsuits, wet cover ups, BARE feet, no way.

I don't believe they have refunded anything for missed ports since the restart.   Not on sailings I've been on and have heard others with the same experience.

We missed a port in January and our onboard account was credited. And the cancellation came several weeks  before the cruise.

I'm saying that I got the impression on my last cruise that whether or not you prepaid there was an expectation of cash at the end. May as well give it all at the end, by hand, if this is the expectation. But again, this was on my last cruise which was RCCL. Not sure if this is the norm, or the expectation everywhere, thus the ask

I can assure you that many people do not hand out extra tips and you certainly don’t need to do that unless someone offer to exceptional service and you want to

Is dining in Blu a step up from MDR on the Reflection? I read in a review that the food is a disappointment and has changed in negative ways since covid. The reviewer also stated that other cabin classes now can dine in Blu so it can sometimes difficult to get a a table right away. Is this true - what other classes are now dining in Blu? (Trying to decide between Reflection and Beyond - Reflection Blu much more affordable!) Thanks!

Was on the Reflection in December. Loved Blu, both the food and the small dining room ambiance. Service was outstanding. The only people that can eat in blu besides Aquaclass are suites, and that is only if space is available.  We never waited a single night for a table, but even if you did for a short time. It would be hard for me to go back to the big dining room after eating in Blu. (We also could order off of the main dining room menu if we wanted)
