Dynmic Dining failed on RCCL! Why is Celebrity now trying what seams like the same thing on the EDGE?

The lower time is when Kids are in School. Your not going to Save Hundreds.

You might save $35-$75/pp. Go when it's a good time for you. Disney is higher cost than other lines. But it's Disney. If your Kids are young just go!

Forget the WOW Bands. You still have a card Key, why spend $5 more???

They say in print months ago that they will not Discount. They type of client that goes for the discount cabin doesn't spend on the ship either. They do want to make a profit. The best cost is always 1 yr + in advance. Then if the price drops just re-do the booking at the lower cost. This way you lock in a cabin location and at least a cost before it can go up. You can always get a full refund before the final payment. After the finial payment if the cost goes down you can upgrade the cabin. I've done that on Allure Dec 6th. If you wait you are rolling the dice. The house usually wins.

They thought they could get away with less Waiters and Busboys. Lower Labor cost.

Sr. or any other Disc is only put on when they have a ship that is slow to book up. If the sailing is selling at a fast pace why give money away.

DD was a big flop with many people. RCCL thought they could boost profit by turning the tables 3 times rather than two. They reduced the waiters and busboys to cut labor cost. Most people did not like having to make Rez for dinner. They didn't want to have to think. RCCL can just vary the selections each night more to make those happy that want a better selection.

You will NOT make a 8:30 flight! You won't get off the ship until 8:30 - 9 AM if you're lucky.

Thanks! Obviously, this comes as a surprise to me. We're a group of 4 cabins and I've been doing all of the planning. We sail in less than 60 days so hopefully they will straighten this out quickly.

 

Again, my apologies for asking about this on 2 threads. Initially I found out on the one I started regarding the cruise compasses so I started questioning it there. Because of the title of my post, I thought I better start a new thread to get more insights into a port change. It shouldn't surprise me that there is a mistake. That's why you use a T/A. They will get it right. It doesn't cost any more and they save you frm having problems.

You get what you pay for. If you try and save a few Bucks it may not cover everything if you need it. Compare Coverage First. Usually Cruise line Ins is not worth it.

Book with a TA and you can hold for a day or so. Contact me and I'll tell you how. Cost is the same.

They are not going to open the MDR. Most of the Staff not working are off for a few hours or moving Baggage. The rest are working the Windjammer.

I'm betting the next deployments have Cuba on the list for some Ships.

RCCL wanted to turn the tables 3 times rather that twice and have less staff to cut labor cost. It backfired on them. They had to add more staff. The old school past clients would have left to other cruise lines.

RCCL wants people to get in the frame of mind to pay extra for meals on make more money.

Try asking for just an On Broad Credit equal to the price drop to use on the ship. Your going to spend funds on the ship anyway.

I was on the Quantum in Oct. They said it just cleared the bridge. There are too many "If's" for the Oasis to Sail out of NY.

Most likely NOT. The largest ship the can put in NY/NJ is the Q class. Oasis can't go under the Bridge. RCCL wants to have the largest ship possible in NJ.

RCCL is making all the changes to MAKE more Profit! You can always charge to other Cruise Lines. RCCL really doesn't care about past Cruises. They want the New ones to spend more money. Dynamic Dinning was tried to cut down on Labor cost and turn the Tables 3 times rather that twice a night. Too many people spoke up so the changed things back. They will try again.

Hello, new here. Going on a cruise in late June to Bermuda and the Caribbean. Any advice/input would be appreciated:

 

Not sure best way to get to port from Western PA, Mapquest shows coming in from the PA Turnpike or I-80. Anyone have suggestions? Probably coming in the night before and driving part way, then the rest in the morning before departure. Planning on getting to the port at 930 am to park and get organized.

Can you request a table in the MDR just for your family? Yes

 

Can you drink any alcohol while taking seasickness meds? Not sure if we will get seasick, but from research here, seems like we should take something to be sure.

 

Is there poolside bar service? Yes

 

How do we get to Horseshoe Beach in Bermuda? Should we take a cab?

 

In St Maarten, is there a non-nude beach to go to with the family? Yes

 

Please offer any insight or thoughts you feel would be useful. We haven't booked any excursions yet, and we have not purchased any drink packages. We are still trying to figure out if those would benefit us.

You can still pay what you want. $1,$10,$12 its a tip. You decide. Don't let the Cruise Line tell you what to tip. Just go to the desk and adjust the Daily charge to what you want! RCCL is only suggesting an amount.

 

If you want to pay before you cruise RCCL will charge what they want. Do it on the ship and tip what you want.
