  1. They made a wonderful egg salad with no mayo and a mustard base that had lemon in it..if I could just find a way to make that here! Going to google to see if they have an online cookbook.

OMG, Marks and Spencers....they have the most wonderful sandwich fillings that are low carb if eaten alone...salmon and cream cheese, egg and mayonnaise, tuna and sweetcorn. I LOVE Marks and Spencers and I never figured out why they never ventured to the USA.

I always said that it's so much more civilized in the UK, so to hear you say the same thing is so funny! I think I must have been British in a previous life, because I feel more at home there than in FL, where I'm from, lol.

  2. I just love it..I have a friend who lives in Chorleywood outside of London..if I get the grant then I'll be at the Anna Freud center and will either stay in Bloomsbury although I'd love to stay in High Street/Kensington where I ususally stay.

It's such a CIVILIZED life there..not that it's not here..but I love that people have a sense of decorum, etc. I also loved the take away salads and sandwiches from Marks and Spencer!! :)

Gathina, I hope you get to go to London for a year. We lived there for 4 years and absolutely loved it. We were in Datchet, in Berkshire County, just 40 minutes west of London. In fact, my kids are over there now visiting. If you go back to London, be sure to take the train to Windsor to see the Queen's weekend home, Windsor Castle. Windsor is a lovely, quaint town that is just stunning. Windsor can be reached via Waterloo Station or Paddington Station in London.

I do miss the British food....the sausages were amazing. It was so easy to maintain Atkins over there. I ate a lot of fresh veggies and protein.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!! I just found Malibu Spiced Rum sweetened with truvia. 70 calories and 2 g of carbs per shot. Mixed with diet coke and a squeeze of lime, it's the perfect drink for summer. I also still drink the firefly skinny tea vodka...0 grams of carbs per shot and also sweetened with truvia.

Hulalovestocruise, let us know if you decide on Alaska. We are trying to pick a cruise. We have to do one more Carnival before 12/31/13 to be grandfathered in the platinum status and are trying to pick. So many good deals out now...just trying to pin the dates down!

  3. Hula, I went to grad. school in Michigan and lived there 10 years (mostly in Grand Haven area but also in Farmington Hills and I worked in the armpit of Detroit). I would LOVE to be there now as it's miserable humid here in FL and I know it's worse in the Carib right now. I went to London last month for business, that's my big thing and there's a chance I may go for a year for research in 2015. I ate a LOT (for me!) but I must have walked a good 2-4 miles a day and everything is public transit so it worked well and I came back under the weight I was when I left by about 2 lbs. My husband's first birthday party in the U.S. is this weekend, and I had it all catered from the Cuban restaurant here that we like (though he is from Costa Rica) so mostly good things like grilled chicken in mojo, rice, beans, and I'm getting a watermelon and also making his fav. homemade ice cream.

    Hope all are well.

:) How is everyone doing? Busy with the summer I hope, I have been keeping busy but I do think about you girls on here now and then and I hope all is good with you. Still haven't booked that next cruise, it is still a toss up at our house Bermuda or Alaska I am not a fan of the cold but Alaska looks really pretty, pcrum has let me see her lovely photos. IDK still don't like the cold I live in Michigan and it is to cold here most of the time for me. Brooke I hope your doing okay and your busy with your house. Check in sometime and enjoy the summer.:)
  4. Your doing it the "smart" way..and a lot of it is in the mind anyways. I'm in the same boat..even a salad I could normally eat in one sitting gets stretched out to 3 meals sometimes. I eat my biggest meal of the day during lunch also, but had learned that trick from my Latin husband as it's a big thing in their culture to do it that way, and we are also big soup eaters at night!

People can live off 1200-1500 calories a day, the problem is something in their mind tells them they can't or its unhealthy and they become afraid and sabotage themsleves right there.

Congratulations..there is NOTHING that tastes better than putting on smaller size clothes..so not worth cookies or that other garbage that we thought we gave us so much pleasure! :)

    Hi all!

I bought a Groupon for one of those medically supervised weight loss programs a couple of weeks ago. It came with a dr. visit, a nutritionist visit, an EKG, labs, lipotropic shots and an appetite suppressant if I wanted it. I paid an additional $150 to get a resting metabolism test and a VO2 test (that tells you where your "fat burning" zone is when you exercise).

I got the Phentermine on 2/25. Ten days later I went in and weighed and I had lost 12 pounds. But I was really kind of stressed about it, because I had not been eating. I would be surprised if I even cleared 900 calories a day. According to my metabolism test, I should be eating between 1100 and 1600 for weight loss.

So I decided to stop the drug. I went back to the nutritionist and worked through some of those issues. I re-started the Phentermine, but often skip a day or cut it in half. That seems to be a good spot for me.

I am learning that my old eating habits still "own" me... I order meals that in the past I could finish in a heartbeat, but now can't even come close to finishing. I've also learned to make lunch my biggest meal of the day. Dinner for me is often some Progresso soup (100 cals) or a protein shake.

The phentermine will defintely help get that weight loss jump started -- you just need to make sure you are doing it the right way (don't eat too little) and can maintain that "right way" eating after you stop them.

    Good luck!

    Ann

  5. My first week I was not allowed to exercise and that part I hated as I like to exercise (so why was I fat, right? LOL). The second week I could start but only slowly and as I built up my carb amount I could exercise more. On the days I did my endurance exercise I had to add 200 more calories of protein per day and 5 carbs. I think what your daughter is doing is smart and it's working for her. I maintain at about 1200 calories per day and because my stomach is so much smaller I just don't feel like eating much anymore and some of the stuff I used to like I cannot eat.

If people have a history of cardiac problems I don't know this is the wisest thing to do for a diet. But again, I had the advantage of having a cardiac doctor supervise everything through the program. It is a drastic approach and I wouldn't recommend it unless you are being closely supervised.

I just completed my first week on this. I averaged 926 calories per day without feeling hungry...that's net calories after deducting calories burned. I lost 8.4 pounds. My daughter is losing faster but eating much less and she's not exercising because she's scared to while on this medication. I find it gives me more energy so it's easier to do it. I haven't had any big side effects yet, although I did have terrible heartburn last night. I've had GURD for years but I'm not sure what triggered it last night...maybe an old pair of jeans I squeezed into a few pounds to soon...they were comfortable while standing but a little snug in the waist while sitting.
  6. Congrats! Isn't it a wonderful feeling? I hope Brooke is doing well. Maybe she's stalking the page and not telling us..LOL

Its been a really good week. 9 days smoke free, coffee free, walking and yoga everyday. And the very best I got new jeans yesterday and they fit and are a 10 p. Woohoo:)
  7. Yes. Drastic but it's not as drastic as you think when you consider it's low carb and high protein. I did have like 2-4 cups of green vegetables per day.

I researched the doctor a lot. I work in the medicine field so I knew what I had to look for. I don't think the program I went through was the typical doctor supervised program given the money one would pay for it if you hadn't won it like me. I also wrote down what I ate and that awareness in itself was amazing. I ate healthy food..never a big sweet eater..my problem was carbs from too many good grains, even fruits/vegetables. But I also was disgusted with myself for how I looked and felt and took ownership of it and wasn't blaming anyone but me. When I had my moment of truth with my wedding dress it wasn't pretty but I was willing to fight through the shame of it to change. Half of weight loss is in the mind. People think they can't live on less food but they can.

Wow!! Only 600 calories? My doctor told me to eat 1200, which is hard to do while eating healthy on these pills but I try to at least get close. I'm so happy it worked out so great for you. I hope I have good results too.
  8. My first week I was allowed no more than 5 carbs..only high protein, low fat..I am not a big meat eater to begin with so for me this was torture but the first week I lost 14lb..4 fat and 10 water..consistently after that I lost 3-5 lbs per week..600 calories and 20 carbs which is surprisingly a lot of food..more than you think. Now I maintain on about 1200 per day. I've gotten back into endurance exercise and when I have days of hard running I eat about 1500 calories per day, but it's an extra 300 in protein and not carbs. I do eat fruits/veggies/bread now, but my eating habits changed so I eat no more than 40-60 carbs per day and I'm good. And I have to say, the best part for me was having my wedding dress taken in 6.5 inches!

    Congrats on your weight loss!!

My doctor will be monitoring me but only once per month. I had a complete physical a few months ago, including labs. She checked a few things yesterday but didn't give me an EKG because I am in good health, no family history of heart problems and I always have good blood pressure. I have to go back in a month and she will check me out again to determine if I can take it for another month. She gave me a 2 pages of information, which I had to sign. It tells me things to look out for and when to stop taking it and when to call her.

Today was my first day on it. I still felt hungry but was easily satisfied. I managed to stay just under 1200 calories, which is way less than normal for me. The biggest thing I noticed is I didn't have any cravings for sweets...I usually crave them constantly! Also, I normally drink about 8 Diet Cokes per day. Today I only had 2 and I never craved them, I'm just trying to avoid caffeine withdraws. So far I've had 8 glasses of water today which is about 7-8 more than normal.

I hope this works for me because I gained 60 lbs after injuring my feet and I really need to get it off!

  9. As I understood it, the EKG was a pretty crucial step prior to taking it more so than the blood panel part. So this is what the doctor said anyway, she was a specialist in weight loss.

If you haven't conquered your eating part, that's not the medicine, that's you. Your the only one who controls what goes into your mouth and if dont change your eating habits at the same time you can build up a tolerance to it which is what you did. It's not a license to keep eating in the same way that got you fat to begin with. You still have to control your eating habits, the idea is to curb your appetite. I think this is why a lot of diets fail, people still think they can eat the same amounts they are accustomed to.

It works but your body can get used to it in a short time and then it won't work. I've been on it a few times but still haven't conquered my other eating issues and that needs to be in place. My doctor would pay close attention to my heart while on the phentermine.
  10. I confess I took it but only because I had won a spot in a weightloss competition through a radio station. It was a medically supervised program that included phentramine. I was given a complete EKG and blood panel to first determine if I was even a candidate for it. I was, others were not and were given an herbal supplement like it.

It worked for me and I lost 60 lbs but keep in mind I also had the luxury of seeing the doctor for it and being monitored weekly, and I also got a b12 shot. The diet part was very low carb and legally in my state you can only be prescribed it for a certain amount of time.

I referred 3 friends to the program and they also lost big time. One lost over 100, the other 50, the other 30. They of course, had to pay for the program I got mine for free.

I've kept all the weight off. I can't stand to eat the things I used to enjoy, and I am so used to eating less that to eat more than what I am now used to makes me sick to my stomach.

I would only recommend it if your doctor is going to monitor your progress on it. It's not meant to just "give" someone the pills and let them be on your own. I'm glad I had the EKG first and blood panels. I wouldn't do it any other way.

My daughter has been on this for a few days and has already lost 17 lbs so I went to see my doctor about getting it today. She gave me a 30 day supply but told me she wouldn't take it herself, made me sign a consent form and advised me against it. We are cruising in about 36 days so I was hoping to build some better habits and drop a few lbs before then. Anyone on here try this before?
  11. Great tips..never thought about how a shorter cruise could be more of a "party" atmosphere..although my husband is a fabulous Latin dancer (he is from Costa Rica) and boy can he dance ..so maybe I need to consider that?

    What does "fantasy class" mean?

Read the reviews on the board for Celebration..99% positive.it's the fools who get sucked up into the timeshare scam that are the frequent complainers. I thought the ship was lovely..food was outstanding..they had a lovely Italian restaurant with homemade pizza and if you wanted a cappcuinno and a giant piece of cake for a snack, it was like $4..a bargain..the ship was impeccably clean, food was great..buffet was the usual setup, but you had two dining room/restaurants to choose from..great service and food. You picked one for one night and then the other for the second night. Nightlife was good, gift shop very reasonable and drink prices a little less. If you do a cruise and stay you can stay at the Raddison which is a 4 star resort. Staff very friendly. I had a small issue with my room, I did complain, they promptly took care of it and that night left an apology card with some chocolate dipped strawberries.

the cabins are small..given it's an older ship..but considering it was $150 for two people plus $50 for port charges, a bargain. We got off the ship at 7 on a Monday and I was at work by 9:30!

The program I was on taught us how to "enjoy" a food day for a special occasion..it's just not meant to be all the time..on your hardboiled egg package you mentioned, it reminded me of when I was traveling for business and the hotel had NOTHING of value for me to eat. I had gone to Walmart and found pre-cooked butterball turkey bacon, and I used to have that and a protein shake I had brought. I had also gone to the Wholefoods to buy natural peanut butter which I ate with the bacon. Sometimes I will go to a Chinese takeout when traveling and ask for a pint of steamed chicken and green Chinese vegetables I travel several times a year for business and I always plan ahead what I need to bring.

DH and I are Carnival lovers and tried Princess (see my review in signature) a few years ago. It was ok...slightly older crowd, food not as great in our opinion, but did love the specialty restaurant Sabatinis. Do avoid HAL...we did a cruise last March on HAL for my mom's 80th birthday. She is a "young" 80 and in her opinion the ship was "full of old people". The family in front of us in the check-in line was celebrating a 90th birthday. That seemed to be the trend for the rest of the trip...very elderly people. It was a bit depressing, like being in a nursing home!! Night life was non-existant after 11 pm!

I'd recommend a fantasy class or spirit class Carnival ship. Liberty out of Tampa on Carnival is a great size ship (we spent our honeymoon on her sister ship, Miracle, but I'm not sure that's sailing out of FL anymore). The Carnival fantasy class ships are even smaller and easier to navigate around. I'd go for the longest cruise you can on the fantasy class ships though. The 3-4 day cruises tend to be more of a party atmosphere, but the 5 day cruises on the fantasy class ships are great. We did the Carnival Inspiration when it sailed from Tampa, but it's in CA now. I'd recommend either the Imagination (out of Miami) or Sensation or Ecstasy out of Port Canaveral. Haven't tried Celebrity, so can't advise on that line, but I've heard it's a slightly older crowd.

    Whichever ship you choose, enjoy.

Did you really like the Bahamas Celebration ship out of FL? I've read so many horrible reviews that it just fell off my radar. Yours is the first positive comment I've read. Maybe we should re-consider it.

Have been in Chicago for the past 4 days with my son for BFA theater college auditions. Did pretty well with the diet and ate mostly protein and salad, but did splurge one night on Chicago deep dish pizza. The thing is that now I feel I can allow myself a night off, knowing the next day I will jump right back on the program. That is the difference for me...before, a deviation from the diet would snowball into a week off the diet, then 2 weeks, etc. But now, it's one night off to enjoy a regional specialty and then right back on the program! Progress for sure. Luckily the hotel we were at had a little cafe downstairs that had 2 hard boiled eggs pre-packaged for $1.99. That is my breakfast everyday at home, so super convenient to find it in the hotel. Trying to make good and healthy choices!

  12. Hi, no, not from JA but I did keep a place there for a long time.

I hope your going to Dunn River Falls if you do go..it's a must!

We have friends that own a small motel in Ocho Rios near the "House of Fish" which is a good local mom and pop place, a few blocks from the marketplace. I'll advise you to PLEASE do not be "afraid" of the local market place..very nice people.you may feel hustled to buy stuff or be overwhelmed by the crowd but remember these people make next to nothing so when they see the big ships coming it's a huge moneymaker for them. $2000 Jamaican is less than $5 U.S.

Jimmy Buffet's place is the typical tourist trap..I'd try world of fish.

We went on Princess for our honeymoon and it was lovely! Yes, it was an older group of people, but was still very nice. However, Princess is more expensive than say RCCL or Carnival.

Question Gathina, I see that you're from Jamaica right? My husband and I are going to Ocho Rios next month, and are wanting to try some good local food. We're doing an excursion through Carnival but it isn't all day and will have some time afterwards. Can you recommend anything?

  13. Maybe you guys can help. New husband and I want to take a cruise as we didn't take a honeymoon in October when we wed. I went on two NCL cruises in mid 2000 and then on Bahamas Celebration last year from west palm (locals, you must try this cruise, it's a great deal!)

We want a small ship, more adult oriented (though not REAL old adults) and the ports aren't so important to us. Not opposed to a four day cruise or a week, no preference. Not a die hard cruiser but enjoy them, husband has never been on one. We can sail out of Fort Lauderdale or Miami as both are a quick drive for us in less than 1.5 to either.

My very first cruise was the Norway in 2000..loved that charming old ship. I've heard HAL is more for the older crowd, anyone know anything about Princess or Celebrity?

:) Lucky you, now you have lots to look forward to and it will help with the weight loss. :)
  14. It did work for me. Contrary to popular belief, I did struggle and I'd been thin my whole life so to gain 50 lbs and not realize what had happened might as well been 200 for me. It really hit home when I bought my wedding dress and even though the sizes run smaller to begin with, it was fortifying. Plus I carried my weight well as I am tall and muscular. Although I dont think it's good to weigh yourself every day, for me I have to because if the scale fluctuates too much then I have to see what I did wrong and for me it was "a little bite of this and that" that will make it go up.

But do drink the Powerade if you go low carb; It's pretty cheap to buy and I drank a 32 ounce bottle. It really does help with the bloat and constipatoin.

    Thanks Githina

This is good info. :) We just have to keep working it! Goal to rock a two pice buy sept 21!

  15. Fats I wasn't allowed until the 3d week and it had to be only one per day and under 5 g. I've never liked salad dressing and not big into Mayo so for me that was easy. I have 2tb half and half which on my container says is 1. The thing about anything fat free or sugar free is sometimes that has more carbs

If you have an asian market, look for the "Miracle Noodles"..they have like zero to 1 carb per serving. They aren't the greatest but dressed up with seasoning they are pretty good and they are filling.

I would also recommend try and drink one Powerade zero per day. Crystal light has carbs (some of them do). I did learn from the doc. the electroytes are needed when you cut back so much. The powerade zero has no carbs, has flavor and it does help with water weight.

Good luck. I don't advocate this kind of diet but I learned a lot and I've kept my weight off.

Thanks. This gives me some ideas...I think I need to do just the protein/meat for a week and see if I can get things going again. I'm stalling at about 1-2 lbs. a month and need to lose more! Your diet is just about what I'm eating now, but I add some fats, like mayo and salad dressing. I think I need to cut back on those and just do meat for a week. Thanks again.
  16. Ok, it wasn't pretty but it was only for one week. I had also had an EKG and other medical work done by the same doctor who put me on the plan. It was essentially no more than 5 carbs per day and they gave me a list. I couldn't exceed 500 calories per day.

These had 0-1 carb and about 35 calories per ounce:

    Very Lean

    ground turkey

    white chicken meat no skin

    cornish hen no skin

    cod/haddock/sole

    cottage cheese

    trout

    halibut/grouper

    smoke salmon, shell fish

    tliapia, canned tuna in water

    pork tenderloin,

    Tofu (Nasoya light firm)

    Lean 55 calories, 0-1 g carb

    chicken dark meat 1 oz

    turkey, dark meat no

    lean pork chop

    lam

    veal sardines

    flank beef london broil

    herring

    turkey bacon (jenny o)

    turkey sausage links -2

the seond week I could add 5 carbs:

Same as above for meats, but 5c vegetables (25 calories each)

    celery

    broccoli

    zucchink

    cabbage

    asparagus

    green beans

1/c cup: cauliflower, brussel sprouts, peppers, snow pea pods, artichokes, cucumbers, green ohion,s mushrooms, leeks, kale, spinach, bok choy, eggplant.

Gradually, each week more was added and eventually fruits, starchs, fats. The first week alone I lost 10 lbs water weight, 3 lbs fat and every week consistently I lost about 2 lbs of fat and 1-2 water. They had special machines to measure how much of what. I was also on an appetite suppressent but when I was off it, I found my eating habits had changed.

My weight gain, they told me was due to eating too much healthy stuff: grains, rice, fruits/vegetables and bad portions. Not a lot of meat anyways so this diet for me was hard as I had already eaten mostly a plant based diet. It took me about 7 months to lose 50 lbs.

They do NOT recommend the first week to go for more than once. I would never do anything like this on my ownbut it was doctor supervised. I had won the program through a radio station contest and I was getting married soon so it was a good incentive.

    Hope this helps!

What does a 0 carb diet consist of? I know eggs have 1 carb each. Are you just eating meat? If you don't mind, could you share what a typical day's food would consist of with 0 carbs? I'm very intrigued, as I'd love to jump start my weight loss!! Thanks so much.
  17. When I was on the medically supervised plan, I could have zero carbs for one week..harder than I thought..then I stayed at 20 to lose and now I maintain at 60 per day. I also drank a lot of "powerade zero" for the electroyltes..and it had no carbs..but it also helped a lot with bloating.

Feeling a bit better this morning. Looks like some of the weight gain may have only been water dowm 3.5 this morning. Still going to go back on induction for 2 weeks. and keep those carbs under 5. It will be a good jump start on the newyear.
  18. I think it came from where Brooke in an earlier post had said she thought some were thinking she was only posting for attention. When I read it I thought "woah..." It was pretty direct, for sure.

I guess everyone has their own moment of truth that gets them so fired up that they are willing to do whatever it takes to put themselves and their own ways aside and do what they are going to do to lose the weight. I hope maybe that comment will be "it" for Brooke and she'll come back. That's the problem with a public forum, when you post stuff and ask for feedback you have to be willing to take it or let it go gracefully. Nobody is perfect.

I hope everyone else keeps posting, everyone here has great advice.

Wow, ok where did that come from!?!

This weekend has been great!! Yesterday wasn't so good with my cals, didn't eat a whole lot since I wasn't feeling my best. However this morning I got up and did my JM workout, and I really think I sweated it out or something. My stuffy nose went away and I can finally breathe!! Lets hope it stays that way!! Today we went for a walk, and will be walking again later.

  19. You pointed out something very important, the "quality" of the "point". Even if she consistently lost only 1 lb per week, considering she started this thread in May 2009..from Jan. 2009-Jan. 2013 that would be 208 weeks or 208 lbs. Even a half pound lost per week would be 104 lbs in four years. Of course, there could be weeks of fluctuation but at any rate it would be over 100 lbs lost...and that doesn't account for the time from Jan 2013-May 2013 when this thread will be 4 years old.

I want to clarify something I mentioned earlier when I said you will NEVER be able to eat the way you always have. What I mean is, the way you do that got you to where you are now. Could you have a cupcake every day? If it's allowed in your plan, technically you could, but why would you want one every day? Is your life that much worse off if you have a cupcake 3 x per week instead of every day? There may be some who can eat a cupcake every day of the week and lose or maintain, but you might not be one of those people. I think what everyone here is saying is that no matter what plan you choose that works for you, follow it the way it's supposed to be.

Brooke: You know I don;t post on her often but would like to say to keep up trying to figure out what will work for you. You have a lot of food "issues" and a particular "diet plan" might not work for you as written.

I will point out that it's not all about "points" but the quality of the "point" that you probably should be more concerned with. I am sure if you thought more on the well-balanced, whole (real, unprocessed) food and portion control, you will see consistent weight loss...even at 1 lb or less a week. Believe me....you cannot exercise enough to combat a poor diet.

  20. How did I start years ago or how did I "restart" it as an adult? :)

I did run years ago, but not in races, etc. Got away from it, but had always been an active exerciser. Great shape 5 yeas ago, crap in life happened and before you knew it I'd gained 50 lbs. The problem was I am tall and I always 'wore" my weight well so nobody ever noticed. I joined the Team in Training program with the Leukemia Society to raise money for the cause but also because I knew they took ANYone of ANY shape and could train them to do a half marathon..running, walking, or a run/walk mix.

They have a very organized and structured program and I did the Disney Wine and Dine half marathon...but sadly I walked it because I had knee issues and other things associated with weight gain.but I did eventually run/walk intervals..1 minute run, 2 minute walk, etc. After 3 half marathons I got out of denial that I was no longer the runner/athlete due to the weight so I got serious about losing the weight to run faster..and having to buy a wedding dress helped..but I stuck with interval training, the diet I was on and now I run faster than I did when I was in my 20's (i am now "slightly" over 40).

I'd look at the interval training programs, the Couch to Five K program is said to be good. Best if you are a novice to start out on an interval schedule. My friend started with me..she weighed close to 300lbs and she walked the first race I did..she got serious about her weight and has lost over 60 lbs with WW since October 2011 and now she can run a full 2 miles wihtout stopping. She would agree that interval training is the best, and safest, mode.

Hope that helps..having a friend to do it with helps too!

    Hi Gathina,

I have a question for you. How do you go about getting started running? I have always wanted to be a runner. Just not sure how to get started.

    Thanks

    Leigh

  21. Your still missing the point and I'm not sure why.

Ask your husband what most men prefer..not him..MOST men..and I bet he'll say a woman who puts pride in her appearance and even wears things he likes..99% of the time.

Nothing's wrong with it since you both like it......but don't try to tell another woman what her husband would like - or what she should enjoy doing.

And I agree, you're purposly misinterpretting what other posters have said - no one said anything about being unwashed, unkempt, or stinky.

  22. Wow..to me that looks like a lot of food for not many points..good diversity of options, too.

If you go to the WW Facebook pages, you'll see lots of success stories! Lots of people posting that they lost 80-100+ pounds in a year.

I typically eat 29-33 points a day. I typically work out two hours a day. Here's what a typical day looks like:

    2 eggs - 4 pp

    Orange - 0 pp

Greek yogurt and berries - 3 pp

Lite String Cheese - 1 pp

Chicken Taco Chili - 5 pp

Salad with tomato, cucumber, olive oil - 2 pp

    Cashews 1 oz - 5 pp

    Apple - 0 pp

2 squares Dove dark chocolate - 2 pp

Crunchy baked chicken - 5 pp

    Steamed asparagus - 0 pp

Baked chips and salsa - 3 pp

  23. LOL..sorry for offending the fashionnistas..heaven forbid! LOLOL

Seriously I am sorry if I was "misinterpreted" (or does that mean I misspoke?). But seriously..we are all being lighthearted here and this topic isn't worth getting miffed over.

How in the heck do you translate "I'm not arguing with neat and presentable" into "looking like a frump"?? Please stop purposely misinterpreting my comments and those of others.

Give me break; I am not talking about someone with bad body odor.

  24. I think she sees it full well, she just doesn't want to do it the way your supposed to. Remember all the times she said she was so stubborn, would fight things to the bitter end, etc. Maybe it's time to just suck it up and get over it and face reality. You get defensive when everyone here points out what we can all obviously see is wrong, and then your solution for all we know is to go bury yourself in a cupcake or something. Maybe it's time to stop blaming your living situation, your parents, your genes, your hormones, your "......" (fill in the blan)

Lhanson is right..you are making fabulous choices and that's great..but the thing is, you are NEVER....NEVER..going to be able to eat the way you always have. So you need to LEARN to be consistent for a period of time with eating RIGHT..like for a few weeks..before you start tweaking, etc. tweaking is what you do to find out how to MAINTAIN your weight. You learn along the way, how to incorporate treats, etc. But no diet on the planet ever advocates treats every single day, at least I've never seen one.

If your going to keep being honest with the board, all of us are going to keep being honest with you. If you get upset, none of us mean to hurt you but maybe when you do get upset it's because you know we are right.

Brooke something you said just jump out at me. You said you made your food choices so you wouldn't feel like you were being punished.

You are not being punished for eating healthy and mike healthy food choices.

YOU are punishing yourself by making the food choices that you make.

I'm not sure why your not seeing this. Every time you make a bad food choice You are punishing yourself.

You have punished yourself your whole life!

Now its time to reward yourself with health, and being able to do things that your weight stops you from being able to do.

    Leigh
