  1. I don’t think the pool is finished yet but according to their marketing video, when complete it will not cost extra. Right now it is just the beach and loungers that are free. You pay extra for beach beds, clamshells, cabanas and bungalows. Very easy to not spend any extra money there.

  2. Frommer's has a good walking tour here: https://www.frommers.com/destinations/new-providence/walking-tours

And here is the map to go with it: https://www.frommers.com/images/destinations/maps/jpg-2006/251_walkingtour:historicnassau.jpg

If you're going to John Watling's distillery, it is near #13 on the map.

Thanks for this! I am looking at doing the walking tour on our own too and this tour and map are perfect!

  3. Great Comparison & Point of View!

We choose our cruises based on itinerary, value (not price) & whim...

We will happily cruise NCL, Celebrity & Princess -- Celebrity would be our preferred -- but again, itinerary is our top priority! Our upcoming cruise is on NCL Jewel Vancouver to Tokyo... We head to Vancouver in 56 Days :cool::cool:

Wow! Vancouver to Tokyo, that sounds amazing! Enjoy!

  4. Uber is super easy-you should be able to use it. We are flying into Fort Lauderdale two nights before our cruise and are taking uber to Miami when we land. Staying at the Holiday Inn port of Miami for $118 a night. No shuttle but others have said its about $10 uber ride to port. That is for the whole car, not per person. Taxi to the port of Miami from Fort Lauderdale will be about double the uber ride.

  5. We take it every time we are in Fort Lauderdale a day before our cruise. We love it. Very relaxing and interesting to hear the commentary on who lived in the houses on the water, etc. our driver has always been very good at narrating throughout the cruise.

  6. Our 12 day British Isles aboard the Ruby Princess. We hit several places on our bucket list including Paris. We fell in love with Scotland and thoroughly enjoyed our time onboard one of our favorite ships. A close second was our Transatlantic from South Hampton to Fort Lauderdale. Loved all the ports at the beginning of the cruise and then used the lovely sea days to organize all my photos and write my blog.

  7. I recommend flying in a night early if possible. Too stressful to start vacation mode worrying about making it on the ship. It costs a bit more for a hotel for the night before your cruise but the peace of mind to me is worth it. We always fly in the night before. We are flying into Fort Lauderdale for a cruise out of Miami in Sept and arriving 7 pm the night before. Taking an uber from FLL to our hotel at the port in Miami. It's the Holiday Inn port of Miami and only $118 a night. Then a short $12 cab to the port the next day.

  8. Honeymoon Beach on Water Island is a great place for the whole family. You take a small ferry over and walk up a slight hill and then down to get to the beach. I love it so much we have gone there on every cruise with St Thomas on the itinerary. Not sure where your ship docks but if it is at the Crown Marina, you are a short 5 minute walk to the ferry and a quick 10 minute ride to Water Island. We bring our own blow up rafts and have a great time! Highly recommend. Here is my blog post with lots of pictures:

  9. On our Transatlantic we had several port days first and then our sea days. I spent lots of time uploading and organizing all the pictures I took. It was great. They also have plenty of activities to keep you busy. Read some good books, nap and just enjoy the lazy days.

  10. Looks like the Bermuda boards don't have much info. A few questions:

    1. Better to book Horseshoe Bay transfers through the excursions RC offers, or to get there another way (and if so, what is the easiest way to do so?)

    2. Anyone do the resort for a day to Elbow Beach Resort?

    3. Any other recommendations with a 6 and 9 year old? Open to off the beaten path stuff.

    Tia!!

Bermuda was one of my favorite cruises. As others have said, it’s very easy to get to Horseshoe Bay on your own either via bus, shuttle or taxi. It’s a beautiful beach and great for kids.2ffd1286c2d15a85c73799ea407863b5.jpg25d90ec441cf9bde0e1276d13b4c3812.jpg6dac5ba04b2ae98c43709037ba603ae6.jpg814e1eb5c3804df67d5ff467ee02a920.jpg

  11. Please name the ship, basic itinerary, and factors that made it the best. I need cruise ideas as I am starting to get into a rut. Only NCL ships please.

The Norwegian Star from NYC to Bermuda in September (quite a few years ago). Having never been to Bermuda I booked for the itinerary. Took my sister in law for her very first cruise. We sailed past the Statue of Liberty and that was awesome. The 3 days in Bermuda were wonderful and easy to explore on my own. Bought the transportation pass and used the buses and boats to get around. Beaches were some of the most beautiful I've seen. Lots of them are near empty so you can have almost a totally private beach day without paying premium costs. The ship was great and the entertainment super. Met some of the greatest people on this cruise and we are still friends today.148fc1ed99188feccb498795f340ea9a.jpg2ee7aac23faca644be5e52cd8f889ee5.jpg545080cb53bb85b5d664333173bc79b1.jpg
