So how many outlets are there in the Neptune suites or the PS?
-
This will be our first time with access to the Neptune lounge - a range of tips for the concierges would be really helpful. What would be a good additional tip for the stewards with the Neptune or Pinacle suites?

Thanks for the well wishes & Bon Voyage! We have begun getting things in order at home, are figuring out the last couple of details for port activities and have our "piles" of items to pack laid out. This week will certainly drag. . .

We are sailing on the Eurodam on June 1st - Northern Europe
On Tuesday we were upgraded to 10028 - a Spa veranda
Today I grabbed an upsell and will be in 6175 - But keep it quiet - a surprise for my wife for our 25th. Thankfully she doesn't participate online! I can't wait to see her faice

we too board on June 1 and are very excited
Thank you for your review! We board the Eurodam on June 1 and our itinerary is slightly different as it does not visit St. petersburg, so goes to some different ports and plus two days in Stockholm.Glad to hear the BB King group is on board...that was our favorite entertainment the last time we sailed on the Eurodam.

We didn't take the upsell but did get assigned a cabin for our June 1 Eurodam. Cabin 10028. It looks to be a great cabin for us with spa features. Not sure if we won't still be offered an upsell

Just offered signature suite from vf for 899 pp for 12 night Northern Europe Eurodam. Doesn't seem worth it
Has anyone ever countered?

Last May when I was on the NE Cruise they served Mussels on the pool deck while in PEI. They were mussels they picked up fresh that morning in port and they were fantastic.

My wife and I did this trip from Boston to Montreal last year:
Quebec City: We walked along the river and up around the fort and then back to the government building. There are hills but there is a lot to do within walking distance.
Charlottetown: We did a private tour with 2 other couples from CC we met online. We had a pretty extensive tour for about 80/couple us plus tip. We got back in time to have fresh mussels on the pool deck (PEI is know for its mussels) and then wander around downtown.
Sydney: this was the biggest disappointment: All the excursions have you on a bus way too long and less than 2 hours at whatever site and at our cruise time you didn't have a chance to eat lunch. We walked through downtown and got back on the ship.
Halifax: We walked to the citadel and did the tour. We had planned to walk to the graveyard with the most titanic graves but it started raining so we opted to spend a few hours at the maritime museum and grabbed a local lunch. Great walking neighborhood.
Bar Harbor: We set up a private trolly tour (Olli's)that took us to the park. We also walked downtown before and after. It was Sunday and sleepy before the tour but after was hopping with people

On our last cruise we opted for the unlimited at $7 a day. We always had the clean laundry back when we returned from dinner - same day.
Depending on the location - realize that unlimited laundry is likely cheaper than taking 1 additional suitcase and paying the checked bag fee. (7 day cruise would be 49 and a checked bag at 25 x 2 would be 50)
We have been told that Europe is $9 a day for unlimited laundry and so when I called and ship services quoted $7 a day we opted to go ahead and pay now as a "hedge" again the higher rate - we are on a 12 day cruise in June.

We are considering purchasing this special dinner night in the Pinnacle on our upcoming cruise.
Have you experienced it? Was it worth it?
Is it worth upgrading to 5 oz wine vs the 2oz wine tastings with the meal?
thanks in advance. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge and experience shared by the group.

Thank you! I was hoping it would be available for our 12 day on the Eurodam in June

Any updates on the internet on the Eurodam?

My wife Janice and I (Kevin) are booked on
Eurodam - 01-Jun-15 - Northern Europe Capitals

DW & I have contemplated purchasing stock. We have a cruise booked for June 1. If we bought in the next couple of weeks would we be eligible for OBC?
-
I just called for the Eurodam 12 day June 1st cruise and was told it would be $499 for a couple

Our interest is peaked by all the comments. Can anyone share what it costs for the master chef dinner?

We purchased the signature beverage package for a 7 day cruise in 2014. I would not do it again. We did use it to get specialty coffees and sparkling water at dinner.
Why I won't purchase it again:
1) There are many drinks below $7 but none are made with recognizable brands of liquor.
2) When we tried to get a bloody mary which was on sale on the pool deck we weren't allowed because we had the SBP and though priced under $7 on sale it was not approved for SBP.
3) The choice of wine that was included we didn't want to drink. The reds were literally undrinkable.
4) There were happy hour specials but apart from the drink of the day you couldn't use the card for the specials. At the same time who needs a buy one get one sale when you already have 15 drinks a day.
After our cruise I wrote Holland and said that I would be interested if they allowed you to use "2" of your allotted drinks for 1 drink that had a better choice of liquor.
The one plus was that they did have some craft beers that I could get (though not in the dining room) that were quite good.

My wife and I will be on that cruise that begins June 1st. I have heard it is $9 per day per cabin for unlimited laundry. We used this last summer and were quite pleased and are planning to do the same. We actually took 1 less suitcase which on domestic flights last year. That cruise was in the U.S. so the laundry fee was $7 per day.
I use the gym every day and being able to have my very wet exercise clothes washed made the service worth every penny.
I would love to hear someone who has done the Eurodam in Europe chime in to confirm prices
-
I work out at a gym everyday except Christmas. I worked out everyday on the last 2 cruises and in part because of that we have begun using the unlimited laundry service.
The gym is better than any workout facility in any hotel I have stayed at. The cardio equipment is in good shape. I find the strength training to be very basic but for my time on board it is fine.
They don't tend to have what I like most in equipment but not-unlike visiting another gym, I don't know the equipment that well and it always feels off.

So do you have to go through your travel agenda to request the upgrade or OBC or can you call HAL directly?
-
We are sailing on May 24th on the Maasdam. I noticed that the prices online have dropped - we booked through Costco so a couple of questions for those in the know:
1) Are we able to ask for onboard credit for the difference and if so through who?
2) How does the upsell / upgrade process work for HAL? (we are finally at the place in terms of family/work where we will likely be cruising a lot more :D so we are looking forward to learning the ropes)
3) When are you usually contacted by HAL for upgrade or upsell?
Thanks.

Our First Neptune Suite (Part I)
in Holland America Line
Am very seriously considering taking an upsell to SA Neptune Suite on our upcoming Eurodam sailing. Must make up our mind today! We have never cruised in anything above a standard balcony cabin, so I am sure we would love it!
Thanks for the review!
