  1. On a cruise a few months back I purchased an FCD for my husband’s daughter. I paid for it but it was in her name. I was told that  As long as the person you are purchasing it for has a CC # you can buy it for them. I didn’t know her number so the Future Cruise Consultant looked her up in the system using her birthdate. I paid for it and she got the email with the deposit information. Everything was sent to her; nothing to me. I had wanted to make it a birthday gift for her, but couldn’t do it since the purchase confirmation was sent to her and the FCD put in her account.

So yes, you definitely can purchase FCDs for people not onboard.

  2.

Interesting conversation with my audiologist today. Apparently there have been some reported issues with Blue tooth with Starkey hearing aids but not with most of the other brands. Starkey apparently uses a different channel (whatever that means). I too have had chirps and tones with my Starkeys while onboard but never with other brands.

So out of curiosity, a question to the original OP, are the hearing aids Starkeys? If yes, that might be the answer. If not, then the mystery deepens.

  3. Hey Charles and Judy!

Hope your new adventure exceeds the last one. At least the crew on the Pacific know how to plan and stock for a long cruise!

Wishing you fair winds and calm seas. The Pacific can really rock and roll in heavy weather. Judy, I hope you took lots of meds because rough seas on the Pacific will make the rough days on the Coral feel downright calm.

I know you two will have a fantastic adventure!

We’re on the Crown now...just relaxing. Bill knows where the ship is!!!

    Enjoy.

    Walking!

  4. As I said in my previous post with the picture of the Patter, we're on board now.

The current circle host is leaving February 5th. Don't know who the replacement will be. Also they sometimes change at the  last minute so even if I knew who it was supposed to be there's no guarantee that's who it would be.

  5.  Hope this helps.  We’re on now and this is the ship’s officers from today’s Patter. Also several  of those listed came onboard today so they will definitely be here on 2/15 i.e. Andreas and Marianna. Also know for a fact that the Captain and the MD will still be on board. image.thumb.jpg.d901555c1052967ca80908f70f490093.jpg

Oh wow... like someone in a previous post said, these videos are so good you feel like you are there.  But whoa ...I was there!

You got the cyclo ride just right! That was the scariest thing I've ever done. Speeding it up like that made it seem just like it really felt!!!

    Thanks for sharing.

Wanda  Oh...Bill was there too! He found the ship.

  7. Hi Ccrain

Thank you for taking the time to post your wonderful experiences on this trip.

Can you please post who the Captain Circle hostess/host is? And, who the #1 most passenger is and how many days?

    Thanks

#1 MTGs have 1862 days. The cutoff for the MTG lunch for this segment is 909 and for the 2nd segment it’s 998. There are over 1000 elites which is more than 50% of the total passengers!!

  8. Incredible cruise on an incredible ship!!:cool::hearteyes:

You’ve got that right!! We booked it the day it came out and have been planning for it ever since.

Gonna’ really miss that great internet we had on the CB!

Only downside I see to this cruise is there will be a huge number of elites. It will probably take a week to get your clothes back from the laundry and the cut off for the MTG lunch will be high. 800 or more wouldn’t surprise me.

  9. I was thinking in terms of receiving an invitation or not.

It would be the same thing. Have never known them to withdraw an invitation to lunch or party. If you received one by mistake you are still included. So the “top 40 becomes the top 41” or however many were mistakenly invited.

  10. What would make it even harder if there were more than a few couples who then qualified & the Capt host then had to notify people that they didn't qualify after sending them an invitation.

That would be embarrassing to say the least.

That happens more often than you might think. We've seen the ones that were "disqualified" still included in the cocktail party/luncheon but not given the actual award, i.e. champagne, etc. which would go to the actual MTGs.

  11. Nope. No photo. But it's the same person for the past few weeks, so no way of knowing whether it's something discontinued or if it was by request

It wasn’t by request last week. Spoke with the CC host (Faye) and she had no idea it was not going to be in the Patter. The current # 1 MTG on your cruise was the # 1 last week but the week before that he wasn’t and the MTGs’ (Bruce and Joanne) picture was in the Patter.

The Patter format changed on the 8/11 cruise which was the debut of MedallionNet and *****.

It’s not earth shattering but I was just curious.

  12. :):)

I’ll let you all know. Going to try and do a live. I did get all the perks for 50 cruises so I’m really good. :)

If you think you are due a milestone make it a point to go see the host the first day. Whatever system that is supposed to notify the host can't really be counted on. Our last milestone was reached on a cruise in February. I spoke with the host about it and it was an "ah-ha" moment because there was nothing in the system about it. She contacted the office, it was approved and voila!, we had our milestone celebration.

BTW, the flowers were beautiful and lasted through that cruise, we enjoyed breakfast at Sabatini's a couple of times, and also enjoyed the other goodies.
