Is there a taxi stand at the airport car rental center?
Car Rental Companies are physically at the airport, so you'd just go to the arrivals level for a taxi.
-
When we get off the ship in Fort Lauderdale, how do we get to the closest Hertz rental agency?
The Hertz Port Everglades has a shuttle. No airport car agency has a shuttle any longer.
-
Yeah, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Alamo, Dollar and Thrifty are still doing the local locations. However National/Alamo/Enterpise no longer offer the FLL Shuttle.
-
Just updating a thread as I have been looking for a recent answer.
It appears National no longer has a shuttle to or from Port Everglades.
Location does not offer pickup or return service to and from Port Everglades.https://www.nationalcar.com/en_US/location-details/us/fllt01-ft.-lauderdale-intl-arpt.html

Last Saturday I happened to be on a flight from LAX to Houston and flew over the San Pedro area. I recalled this thread instantly when I saw 4 ships in the harbor.
Sorry for the terrible image quality (zoom on iPhone), but thought I'd share! I think there's a gray cloud right over the USS Iowa otherwise I would have pointed it out.

I love Princess... And after March AND RCCL.
They are 100000% different and I love that. It keeps it fun and exciting to experience both.
-
What about the food? I agree, Royal's entertainment (at least on Oasis) was better than I've seen on Princess. I'm really interested in comparisons of the buffets and specialty dining options on both. I enjoy the various food options during a cruise just as much as the ports and entertainment!
Here are my opinions of the speciality restaurants. I recently travelled on Freedom OTS, and have been on four Princess ships.
SteakHouse - Princess wins by a landslide. I did not enjoy my steak and meal all that much, nor did I like the fact that certain cuts and seafood (lobster) were up-charges over the existing restaurant fee which was already higher than Princess. $35 v $25. Realistically if you wanted steak and lobster you're talking about a 50-75 dollar meal. Not drastically different than at home.
Italian - I loved RCL's Italian restaurant and thought it was a lot better than Princess. The variety of food and offerings was a nice surprise.
Mexican - I also loved RCL offers this addition. As far as I know, Princess doesn't have anything like that anywhere in their fleet. I enjoyed it for that reason, and that it so different from normal cruise offerings.

Smelly is right on. The term Princess and sale don't actually go together. The word sale is to give a sense of urgency and has no relation to value at any given moment.
The Mothers Day sale was actually a sale. Probably one of the better ones I have seen in a while. I managed to go from a Balcony to Mini Suite for 275 dollars less on a 5 day to Cabo in November.

Hopefully there aren't three ships in San Pedro that day and it doesn't affect customs. Last time on the Crown, they were running 90-120 behind and most people with noon flights didn't even get off the ship until 10:30/11.

NOS went through a massive Dry-Dock in 2014. I also see both April 24 and April 30th as bookable. Not sure what you're seeing, but I don't think it's a dry-dock.
-
I was also a big fan of Casey. I enjoyed his humor and genuine (at least it seemed genuine) passion for what he was doing.
-
Not quite a 1 to 1 comparison, but I loved Sabor and Giovanni's on Freedom. I thought Chopps was mediocre at best.

I stayed in 1888 and they were quiet except for few a exceptions. 1) When someone ran on the deck above you, I could hear it. 2) When the ship was moving and someone opened the door directly to the sun deck it would slam. 3) The worst part was the party they threw in the Solarium on deck 11 at midnight. My room was vibrating from the noise. Music and "screaming" could be heard loudly until 2am when it ended. I complained to RCCL because of how loud it was, they apologized for the oversight but not sure if this party is still occurring there.

I was in 1888 with a Muster of C06

No "charge" however tip them for doing the hard work. $20 is what I gave the guy.
-
Maybe they have brought them back but, on Brilliance in October and Liberty in November, they did not have a Quest or Love & Marriage show. Not sure why. A few other people had commented that those shows were not being offered on other ships either.
Just had both on the Freedom a week ago. I want to say both were 10 or 11 pm.

Is the second formal night usually the night FOS is in Grand Cayman? I had assumed it would be the night of Cozumel
-
We were on Crown this past NYE. There was a balloon drop in the atrium, music and dancing and at dinner there were party horns for all and paper top hats for the men and tiaras for the ladies. It was a Formal night. It was a fun night.
I was also on the Crown over NYE but was at the other party up on deck under the Movie Screen with "thousands" of my closest friends. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

Thanks for the info. We have 1862 on March 29. Do you have any pictures?
Thanks, Lee
Someone posted pictures in another thread.

I'm in one of the new balconies on Deck 12 on the same cruise :)

Does anyone know if they are using the Deck 12 cabins yet?
-
Any update on timing of the fixipod repair? I'm surprised that this thread seem to die off a week ago. We sail on the March 8th Eastern cruise and I am still curious about the propulsion.
Sometimes no news is good news.

Just 2 people
Check out http://www.cortransbus.com. $20 a person and they have pretty good reviews. This is about $15 dollars cheaper than Carnival and most third-party companies as well.

I stayed at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino a number of years ago. Nice hotel.
-
Did you have a suite? I have never had my suitcases put anywhere but outside my cabin door on Royal. On Princess, they put them inside for us.
I did not. I can't recall any cruise on Princess where my bags were brought inside. I had already moved my bags inside as they came first. When they delivered my hangers 15-20 minutes later they put them inside which was a nice touch.

Been on a few NYE cruises and they are all decorated with Christmas decorations. Kind of amazing on the disembarkation day to see a Crew come on and break everything down among the chaos of everyone and their bags.
See you on board in a few days!
