Looking at a few options for cuises late May / early June in 2016 and to my surprise a good portion of balcony cabins are already 'sold' as per the cruise lines website. Especially the balconies on the side which will provide a better view.

Would these cabins be really sold that far in advance or just sold by the cruiseline to a cruise agent for them to sell.

Any insight would be appreciated.

BQ, Your right on the money when you say "inside passage" is a very general term, as now I've noticed a lot of the cruises that state "inside passage" but they don't go "inside" Vancouver Island.

We are now looking at doing a one way Ex Whittier to Vancouver on Princess line as they seem to also spend a bit longer in some ports over the 7 day return trips and we would get to also see Hubbards Glacier.

So many options to consider, before I started researching I simply thought it was a matter of 'just booking' an Alaskan cruise. Now I definitely know better thanks to this forum.

As you were on the NCL Pearl, you maybe able to help with another question I have.

Did you leave from Seattle or Vancouver. ? I have put up another post asking about the "inside Passage" and if you left from Seattle you may be able to answer my question.

Just when I thought I had worked out what cruise to go on (NCL Glacier Bay ex Seattle), my research has shown that departing from Seattle you don't get to see much of the "inside passage" until after Ketchikan and before arriving back in Seattle.

On the home run back to Seattle, Would the stretch of the passage between Ketchikan and Seattle be worth it and would that also be classed as the real "inside passage" or would departing from Vancouver allow a better "inside passage" cruising experience re scenery etc.

Some cruise line brochures show the "inside Passage" as part of their intinerary after just leaving Ketchikan, so I'm guess I'm confused as to where the "inside passage" actually is.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Looking at a few different cruise lines that go to Glacier Bay.

A few cruise lines state the actual time spent cruising that area eg: 6am to 3pm, however NCL's itinerary just states 'cruise Glacier Bay'

As we are only choosing between cruises that go to Glacier Bay, if anybody that has been on the Norwegian cruises could advise how long they spent cruising this area that would be greatly appreciated as I know different lines spend a different amount of time in each port etc.

Thinking of travelling on the Pearl out of Seattle on their 'Glacier Bay' cruise.

Look forward to any info from past NCL passengers that have done this cruise.

Was on Oasis cruise 18th August and hubby won a cruise for 7th December 2013 sailing. As we live in Australia it will be an expensive free cruise when taking airfares into account, but can't wait to go back. In fact on our cruise the table was full for each tournament so 1st and 2nd places won a cruise, 3rd place won $75.00 :eek:

Yes, you will be charged for soda if you order through room service since they bring you a can. Your soda card is for fountain soda.
