OK, so I managed to bag myself some free OBC and I am thinking of topping this up by buying some more to add to my account. OBC available at $1.48/£1 compared to less than $1.30 at Bureaux De Change!
Question: On what can I spend my OBC? Are there restrictions? I am assuming casino is a no no as will be using it to cover the service charge. Am I right? I haven't been able to locate via the NCL website.
Thanks

The last couple of years we have managed to upgrade in recognition of price drops. 2 years ago on the BA we had a free upgrade to the Haven from a Balcony and this year from a Balcony to a mini-suite. A good relationship with your PCC helps as well as being Platinum Latitudes :)

Looked for you CruisinCockney but did not see you

Arrived in NY yesterday. Woke this AM to see her docking at 0630 from my hotel bedroom window. Great sight. See you in 4 hours girl!

Port side again. Hopefully same again next week with me waving from my deck 16 balcony. :)

For those who disembarked yesterday (Sunday 15th), did you notice where they were showing the World Cup coverage?
Was it on the big screen in the Atrium, in Spice H20, in O'Sheehans or elsewhere? Would be good to know as I am planning to watch one or two big games whilst I am away next week and would like to plan my time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

In my searches on this subject there is a suggestion that Butlers will unpack/pack for you. Most of the threads covering this are quite old however. Is this still the case on the new Ship classes (Epic, BA and GA)? Does anyone make use of this service? I feel bad to ask them to do this if it is not a standard service. Obviously a tip will be provided in exchange.

For those of us who are not from the US I am interested to know when schools closedown for the summer in the States. We are on the BA Sunday week - will these coincide with lots of kids on vacation?
No problem if it will but just want to be prepared. UK kids break from the last week of July so it's different over here.

Where were you last week cockney?
Oh look! Haven people on their balcony!! When does that happen? Never!
Had to work last week Meatball - necessary to pay for my cruising habit!
We are in Haven and fully intend to be on the balcony when docking. If port side in 2 weeks I will be sure to give you all a wave - 3rd balcony forward from mid-ship on the top Haven deck.

Ok, here we go again. Breakaway arrives in Bermuda this morning but which way round? What do you reckon Meatball? My money is on port this week and starboard next!

Thanks - anyone else?
I am particularly interested in specials on day of embarkation.

Does anyone have any information on spa specials whilst on the Breakaway? Either first day, sea day, Haven or Gold Latitudes specials.
We are Gold members staying in The Haven if that helps.
Thanks

What time is it for you, cruisin cockney? Here it's 6:21am.
P.S. Haha steal a march on those ferries from the Summit pax for sure ;)
11.24 here in London. Not got the weather that they have in Bermuda - raining here! I am not sure I have ever seen Summit in first - this is a real advantage for those Breakaway pax wanting an early start as I understand that those ferries fill up fast.

Good morning. I vote port too. She's early it seems.
45 minutes early, Robin. You must rise early if you are in NY!
Pax will be able to steal a march on the Summit Pax and get on those ferries early.

Port side again. 3 times out of 4 this season. Clearly the default orientation. Bodes well for me port side stateroom 4 week today :)
-
OK, here we go again. Breakaway on final approach. Port or starboard towards the dock? My vote goes for Port.

A £ credit card will do fine. Any spend will be converted to $ by your card issuer at the "spot" rate appropriate at that time.
You could deposit $ cash onto your on-board account if you prefer but may need to keep topping this up as your cruise progresses so this is not ideal.
If you use a debit card NCL will place a hold against the card for an amount (not sure exact amount) that will not be released until after the cruise has finished so, again, not ideal.
All in all, I recommend a £ credit card as the best solution.

Am I right in thinking you can also travel from St George to the caves by bus?

Sad news regarding a passenger on the Breakaway.
Be careful everyone.

There have been a number of Threads celebrating this latest NCL innovation. No doubt someone will post a link but a quick scan down the page should throw up all the answers to your question.

I am hoping that they will show matches in Spice H2O on the big screen. Watching the world's greatest Football tournament on a sunbed on one of the world's best cruiseships whilst sipping a cocktail. Life doesn't get any better than that!

Thanks Horseman! This is useful and I appreciate everything is subject to change but glad to get a steer on what is usually the case.

I still haven't been able to ascertain exactly when (what days) clocks go back and forward on the Breakaway Bermuda cruises. Can anyone help or post the dailies to confirm?
How can I spend my OBC?

So, I can buy $1,000 OBC per person at $1.48/£ and then withdraw it in cash on-board and pay only 3% for the privilege? This has got to be better than changing £ into $ in the UK at sub 1.30 or am I missing something?
