Claudia- i too would like you to confirm that if I book online for the first night at a specialty restaurant, i can still take advantage of any discounts and get credited the difference. I like the security of having a reservation but don't want to feel like i overpaid.

I am sailing in Alaska in July and will be taking the small catamaran trip up the Tracy Arm Fjord - before the Solstice docks in Juneau. Later that day we are doing the Taku Lodge excursion. My question is - are whales ever sighted in the Fjord or should i try to get a short whale watching tour later in Juneau or in Victoria if i really want to see some whales. I really have no idea where whales are likely found and I couldn't find any answer to this question through search,

I have looked at the cabin database and the great post someplace with pictures of the outside of a lot of cabins but i really can't tell if the view from the verandah is really terrible or just not ideal. i got this cabin for my son and his girlfriend on an upcoming Alaska cruise. He is into photography and I don't want him cursing the lifeboats if they make taking a good photo impossible. Can anyone tell me if i need to find a better cabin for him or will this one be ok.
