CAPE LIBERTY 411 - Version 3!

I wonder what would be the best way to go back from Bayonne to DC by Amtrak. Is there a shuttle or something running from cruise terminal to an Amtrak station? Thanks!
  2. Hello cruisers, I wonder if there is an iPad app that would show me my position on the map while the ship is not in a port without an internet connections. I know that GPS would always work, but the maps will not load without an internet connection. So I would like to load maps in advance, and not just the port/city maps, but like "the ocean" maps. Does anyone know such an app? Thank you for your suggestions!

    Bermuda with expiring passport

well, yeah , that's for air travel. But in my case it's gonna be round trip from Cape Liberty. So it's basically Cape Liberty -> Bermuda -> Cape Liberty.

Thanks, yes, I'm a US citizen, and it's a close loop cruise. What if I have no birth certificate? I was born outside US.
  6. Hello everyone. I'm going to a cruise from Cape Liberty, and I'm going to drive from northern Virginia (about 35 miles west from DC). I wanted to ask if it would be safe to leave early morning the same day. I won't need a hotel or parking, just want to be sure it's ok to leave VA early, and get to Cape Liberty on time. The ship leaves at 4pm. Thank you!

Hi, I'm planning a Bermuda cruise in mid-may, and my US passport expires August 18. I wonder if it would be ok, or I'd better not sail. Thank you for advice!

    CAPE LIBERTY 411 - Version 3!
If you are arriving in Newark Penn Station, it is easy getting to Cape Liberty. Take the PATH train to Exchange Place. From Exchange Place take the Light Rail (Stop is on corner as you exit PATH station) to Bayonne's 34th Street station. From there take a taxi approx. 2 miles to Cape Liberty cruise terminal. The total cost, including taxi, will be approx. $12. Have coins for the PATH and Light Rail ticket machines....both trains run approximately every 10 to 15 minutes. You may have to phone for taxi. There are several local companies that will quickly pick up.
thanks, Travelite. Now I need the same info about Quebec - how to get from there back to DC. I'm thinking about Amtrak. How far is the Amtrak station from the cruise terminal? I also might spend 2-3 days in Quebec before returning.

    CAPE LIBERTY 411 - Version 3!
What date are you looking at? There's public transit to Newark on Amtrak. However, public transit to Cape Liberty is more complicated and involves a $10 cab ride at the end. Give us more details about what you're thinking. The big pool of hotels are at Newark Airport, but it's complicated to get to Cape Liberty on public transit from there - probably in the $25 range. You can get a hotel in Jersey City with better public transit access, but you will pay more for those hotels. So you have to look at the total cost.
I'm looking at Sep 8 sailing, Cape Liberty to Quebec. And I will be traveling from DC. I have a place to stay in Brooklyn, and also in Staten Island, so if it's convenient to go to NJ from NY, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

    CAPE LIBERTY 411 - Version 3!

Hello, guys. I'm sailing out of Cape Liberty on Royal Caribbean, and I live in Northern Virginia. I wonder what's the best way to get to Cape Liberty using public transit. Also a hotel recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you!

SIM cards. And credit cards. Questions

Hi, I wonder if it's possible to buy SIM cards in Bahamas so that I could call home when onboard. Like, when the ship is leaving Nassau. Also I wonder if it's safe to use credit cards, or I'd better have some cash. Thanks!

Should I include cost of tours?
Are the tours refundable if you cancel? Is there any kind of requirement in your policy that requires you to insure all trip costs?
well, I'm not sure. Does anyone know what's the Carnival's policy is?
  15. Hello, I wonder if I should include the cost of tours in the total price paid when buying an insurance? I'm sailing with Carnival, and already booked and paid for tours, but I paid for them separately from booking. Thanks!
