  1. Just chiming in. We park at JaxPort for all the reasons others have said. It can be a long wait to get back to your car otherwise.

And it looks like we'll be sailing at the same time. We've done Elation before and this itinerary/JaxPort many times, so please let me know if you have any other questions. See you on board!

I see that you have cruised out of jax-port before, can you tell me how long it takes for the ship to get to the mouth of St John's..

  2. I hope the missing person is found alive.

Two summers ago on the Dream, we had a similar thing happen. The "so-and-so contact guest services" announcement was piped in our cabin like every 20 min all night long. Turns out it was a minor who was drinking and hiding out in someone else's cabin. The mom and the minor child were kicked off the ship the next day when we arrived in Jamaica.

I was on that cruise and yep they were kicked off..

  3. Looking for information to the Jacksonville airport and I know everyone on here are such seasoned travelers. We will be picking a couple up at the Jacksonville airport and I have read that there is a courtesy parking lot but my question is can we go into the courtyard area to wait for them? It's been over 40 years since I have been to this airport so I know it has really changed. Any infor would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Hi everyone, just looking for information on the Jacksonville cruise port. Does it sail down the St John's river and can you see the ship sailing from the road, I think it's Heckscher Dr that goes up to the southern part of Amelia Island. I want to be able to show hubby just how big these ships really are as he has never cruised with me. Thanks in advance for any local info that somebody could give me..Thank you

  5. Thanks for the wonderful review as we will be on her in two days and was kinda fretting the size. All my other cruises have been Carnival but have wanted to try one of the big ones. We have no excursions planned yet so we will see after we get on if we want to do any of them. There is 4 of us going together and I know RC cabins are a bit smaller than Carnivals and we have done 4 to a cabin before and it was fine. You just can't be slobs that week..LOL

We are regular country Pennsylvania folk and are easy to please. I think the worst thing I would hate on a ship is very rude people and luckly I have not come up against to many so far. So glad you all enjoyed your cruise and hopefully we will do the same. Thanks for the tips also..

    :)

  6. Thanks everyone for the replies. It's getting near and I am beginning to panic don't know why as I have flown before but not recently and we all know they change things at the drop of a hat. But thanks for the replies and sorry for all the questions. But I might have a few more before Friday.

  7. With all the talk of the different drink packages, can somebody tell me what the free drinks would be, like is there free coffee, ice tea and , lemonade. Need to know as we sail in 5 days and we have a non-drinker with us so want to give her the information.. Thanks to everyone that can share this information.:)

  8. We want to do the valet service and there will be 4 of us and all 4 names are on one air confirmation so I imagine we will all buy the luggage valet service so will we all get a boarding pass? Our flight isn't til 7:35 PM so we have lots of time. Am I correct on this??

  9. Thanks CoralC and Clarea,

Thank you for the helpful information. There is so much a person has to research anymore to take a vacation and this website is so helpful.. My hairspray is a 3 oz can but was a little concerned about it being aersol. I would prefer driving to our cruise but timing isn't right plus absolutely would not want to drive around Ft Lauderdale. But again Thanks to everyone who has helped us cruise dummies with information and tips..;)

  10. Thanks Clarea,

We will use the holders for the debarkations tags also. Here is another question but not actually referring to luggage. It's been awhile since we flew, I am in the process of gathering my items for my 3-1-1 bag but was a little concerned about my hairspray, it is a small small can but does it have to go into the checked luggage or could it go in the 3-1-1 bag in my carry on bag.. It is a aersol. Thanks for the help..;)
