We recently sailed in an owners suite on the Explorer, it was fantastic, we got a deal that was hard to turn down, we usually cruise in a Grand Suite, which we really like, it is also the perfect amount of room and storage for us, if we could we would do the owners but $$$$ they are a bit more, they are very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities.

Over the past few years as Royal have brought out additional ships we have tended to mostly sail on the newer and larger ones, that we consider offer better facilities.
However having just completed a Thanksgiving cruise on The Enchantment I have to say that we were really pleasantly surprised with the overall cruise experience. Sure as an older ship there are signs of wear and tear in some areas, but the ship is generally well maintained, However the best part of the ship is the crew.
On this cruise I realised the real meaning of the word LeaderSHIP as the crew are guided by some of the best Senior Officers on any ship.
The 3/4 striped officers are all over the ship, ensuring that things happen the way they should. Not only are they are involved in supervising their teams but also visably involved in a variety of activities. They are used as "bring me a" in The Quest, and even add to the fun with other involvement that we have not seen on other ships.
The CD on this sailing was the very energetic John Blair and his wife Katrina is the Activities manager, who both hosted an exceptional Thanksgiving Flag Parade with some extra special "add ons" from the normal.
But without doubt the energy and attitude come from the very top Captain Shawn McDuff and Hotel Director Mark Rook, along with Nithan (F&B) and Georgy the Bar Manager are a real asset to Royal Caribbean and ensure that the Enchantment Team continue to deliver the WOW. I also want to mention Reyno the Concierge who was the initial reason that we decided to take this sailing, he never fails to deliver
Massive thanks to everyone on The Enchantment, we will be back :D
I can't agree with you more! You hit the nail on the head! The older ships and especially the experienced crews are great! We have been on the Enchantment and met Reynolds, he is exceptional! We will not travel on the larger ships, the Voyager and Radiance class ships are big enough for us, and offer a lot more in different ways than the larger mega ships.
Great information for future cruisers, thanks for posting that!
Off topic...we will be on the ship next week. Just wondering when it started to warm up. Day 2 or day 3?
Thanks!
Was on the 11/14 sailing last week, we were pretty lucky with day one not being too bad at all and a lot of people were by the pool on day 2, warmed up nicely. -
I'd just show up at the pier between ten and ten- thirty.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, please excuse all the typos.
I agree, we usually arrive around that time and never had to wait too long.

Will Carlos be the Concierge on the Liberty Feb 1 sailing or Oana. I sailed the Liberty with Oana six times thoughout the last few years, while I was Diamond, and find her lovely and sweet. I couldn't decipher the list is she was now the concierge lounge or still in the Diamond. I may have to split my time if she is still in the D lounge. Although if I remember, everyone prefers the location of the D lounge on the Freedom ships.
I just saw Carlos in Labadee last week, I agree he is one of the best ! We were on the Explorer and the Liberty was in port with us , he said he will be leaving for vacation in early January so you will miss him.

I have an over the water cabana booked on the suite beach for my upcoming cruise this week on the Explorer. I have emailed the Concierge as we are planning on inviting one guest who is not in a suite, to share it with us. I will let you know once I receive a response.
I received a positive response that our friends will be able to join us, this was just last week, they are not in a suite but they are diamond plus, and there will only be four of us, so maybe that had something to do with it.
We are on the 11/14 Explorer cruise.
I am bringing the email with us just in case there is an issue.

Sea days are tough, if you are looking to book a night on a sea day I would book now, especially if you are a big party, they do fill up on some cruises but most other nights you should be able to get in.

When did you get this email, we booked a cabana for our trip to Labadee and
asked the same question, our reply was that we could bring another couple that we're not in a suite, same Concierge.

We received notice via email of this new policy a couple of months ago - we cruise 3-4 times a year with RCCL and yes I smoke, but instead of arguing the point it just gives me more reason to quit, I will not stop cruising because of this, all lines will eventually ban It all together, just a matter of time, I do enjoy a good smoke, but I enjoy cruising more, and hey, if it makes me quit, I can save enough every year for another cruise!

Exactly the most important reason! We are also what some consider "water dogs" as we love being at sea and spending time on all the great beaches, it is also great to meet new people who have the same passion for cruising as we do!
