Last time we cruised out of Long Beach we did the early check in on the QM. Since we can't do that this time where do we check in? Is it going to be clearly marked from the parking structure?
A pp said the QM is closed on Sunday. Does that mean just for early check in? I'm assuming we can still get on board and have breakfast if we want right?

PaulMedik - Thank you that is exactly where it was. Glad I checked before calling.

We received an email 2 days ago saying that our stockholder OBC will be applied to our booking. But it hasn't up yet; it doesn't show up in another area from other OBC does it? How long should I wait until I contact Carnival? TIA!

Thanks - I find it a little frustrating not being able to find anything. I want to decorate the door of my kids, and DS's gf (it's her first cruise) cabin. And our party supply store has a door size "banner" with Dr. Seuss on it is, and it says welcome on it. I'm not a fan of Dr Seuss but this was pretty cool - and would be perfect!

Does anyone know where I can find the timeline for Dr. Seuss on the Imagination? I've have searched and searched but I can't find anything on WHEN he is coming. TIA!

Some of my most favorite pictures are of us just acting goofy around the ship or on excursions. I actually scrap some of the pictures that should be tossed; like eyes have closed, making ugly faces, etc. I title the pages Carnival Enquirer or Carnival Paparazzi.
I have pictures of: my DD planking on a Mayan "Ruin" on Carnival's Inspiration. Her BFF is meditating on his head.

Thank you very much! :)

Thank you I will tell DH.

DH bought us Carnival Stock this morning for our cruise in a few weeks. We used Ameritrade; apparently the statements became available right before we bought so it isn't showing any of our purchases. What do I send in to get our on board credit? I assume whatever it is has to have our name on it, but he can't find anything other than this statement. Thanks!

Go to guest services when you first get on board. They will let him put his money on his SS and take your card off it. We do this with our kids when we go (and actually I don't think I even linked them to my card when I did the online check in last time.) We tell the kids we will pay for the cruise but anything else they want they have to pay for it. It is real simple and guest services does it all the time.

Go to the dollar store and get some decorations for the room. I surprised my DD and her BFF with graduation decorations for their cabin. I covered their door with a plastic table cloth that said congrats grad, and then a bunch of stuff for their room. They were surprised and loved it! (they also got a lot of comments on the door decorations)
Hehe I'm mean to my kids so I'd get her a hat or sash, just something that she wears, that shows that it is her birthday and have her wear it all day.
Go to the steakhouse, don't know about the her age and the spa. But maybe a trip to the hair salon for an undo and a mani/pedi for formal night.

Finally finished reading your whole review today and, again, I loved it!! The tribute to your GF at the end had me crying. Do you know how hard it is to cry and laugh at the same time? You are one hilarious man!
I think your next cruise should be out of Los Angeles!! :D

Last year we took DD and her BFF on a high school graduation cruise. I went to Party City and bought a bunch of grad stuff and surprised them by decorating their door and cabin. I used a plastic table cloth that completely covered the door. Then various hanging streamers in their room. One night we were walking behind a group of girls that commented on the door decorations. One of them said, "I'm a graduate why isn't my door decorated".
We are going again in a few months and I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to do their door again.

It is really simple to change; we did it last summer and we will do it again in the Spring. DS's girlfriend is booked with me, DH is booked with our kids. Once we get on board we will go to guest services and they will switch GF and DH. We also don't have the kids spending linked to our credit cards. Each kid puts their own money on their cards. Carnival does it all the time so it is REALLY simple.
I know this is obvious but make sure that DH buys his cheers package before you make the changes.

"Damn that dude cool as hell...I'd like to meet THAT GUY." Never have truer words been said. After reading your review so far I think it would be great to sit back and have a drink with you; you are hilarious! Looking forward to the rest of your review!!

I have the 4s with the resolution set at the highest; some of the best pictures I've ever taken are with the phone. If I would only afford the 2,000.00+ Nikon I want. :(

Thank you for the information on this. We have iPhones and I was worried about charges when we cruise. My kids love having the camera and music on their phones.
As for a camera that cost a couple hundred dollars taking better pictures than the iPhone, I have to disagree. My phone takes pictures (and videos) that are MUCH better than my Canon. And it isn't nearly as bulky. We will definitely be putting our phones in airplane mode and use the camera and iTunes.

Okay I'm going to give this a try. Hopefully it works. And if it does this was taken during our cruise on the Conquest in 2008. Dune Buggy excursion in Cozumel.
shoot didn't work. I will keep trying.

For the ladies. Room decorations or Roses?

How about you decorate the room yourself; ya know "lose" her at some point and run back to the room and decorate. AND the flowers that SHE likes. I don't like roses so they wouldn't do much for me. But if DH were to give me carnations...
