  1. HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO btyko: The Come Out Roll is not quite the same as any other roll. It is different. On a Come Out roll you win on a seven or eleven if you bet the Pass Line. On other rolls once the seven is rolled you lose. Not on a Come Out roll though. Seven is the most likely number to be rolled since it has more combinations than any other number. There are six ways to make seven. five ways to make eight or six, four ways to make four or nine, and three ways to make four or ten. That is why most people don't play that way.

    I know all that.

When I say it is the same as any other roll, I mean in regard to my come bets. My come bets and odds will lose (statistically) one time out of six on the come out roll, the same as the roll before or the roll after. I can't do anything about that, other than to have odds working (same as any other roll), to lower the overall odds against me.

  2. Do you hedge your bets with a any 7 bet in the come out roll? That's what I do

You have to think of every bet as a seperate bet.

The Big Red (7) pays 4-1, I believe, when the odds are 5-1 against. That is a lousy bet.

Why hedge a good bet (odds bets that pay true odds) with a lousy bet? I would not do that in a million years.

  3. I don't agree with your keeping odds working on Come out Rolls though.

The come out roll is the same as any other roll. One chance in six of a seven being rolled. I have to admit, that I am usually the only one at the table that does this. More often than not, most people at the table are not even playing come bets.

  4. I can't wait to get on the tables with you!

    Looking forward to it.

I am a very mechanical player. I play the pass line and come bets, with maximum odds. I keep my odds working on the come-out roll.

The only other bet I ever make is, when the bases are loaded, I will bet the hard ways for the dealers.

  5. Good morning Lambie,

This may seem like a strange questions since we will be cruising Alaska - and we are cruising for the Alaska experience but did you notice how busy the casino was? I know DH will like to spend some time in there especially in the evenings after dinner. Do you know when the casino was opened?

    Thanks for the wonderful review!

Not a strange question at all. I am wondering the same. Also, does the casino re-open after departing Victoria?

  6. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I haven't read everything in the forum. I you have come bets riding after a point is made are the On or Off during the next come out roll? I haven't played in a while but remember them AND the free odds been off on the come out roll. I downloaded a craps game on my ipad to practice and they took my numbers if the come out roll was a 7. In this simulation I also started taking my odds back as I would lose those too. Maybe I'm just fuzzy on the rules.

Odds are off on the come out roll, unless you call them on. Make sure that they hear you, and they will place an "on" button on your come bets.

That is the way I always play.

  7. What would you think of a player who put $15 on the line and took double odds EXCEPT if the point was 6 or 8, in which case he took only $25 odds?

That sounds like a player who does not want white chips. As for me, it only makes sense to give or take the maximum odds allowed.

  8. Thank you.

One more question. 20X means I can bet any amount $20 ,$45 $70 up to $100 correct?

    ed :D

I belive that the odds must be at least the table minimum, but other than that you are correct.

Example: the table minimum is $10.00. Maximum odds allowed is 20X. You put $10.00 on the pass line. You cannot take $5.00 odds, but you can take odds from $10.00 up to $200.00. They will tell you if the point is 5 or 9, your odds should be for an even amount, but that is not a requirement (although it is adviseable).

  9. Question.

What exactally does 20x odds mean? A $5 pass line bet means you can put up to $100 on the odds? What is the pay off?

    ed

The odds bets are always paid as "true" odds as follows:

    4 or 10 $100 pays $200

    5 or 9 $100 pays $150

    6 or 8 $100 odds pays $120

  10. I won't tell you how much I have won or lost.

But I can tell you that them most I have ever won or lost...and the fastest I have ever won or lost has been at the craps table.

There are times when I hate the game, and there are times when I love the game, but it is always exciting.

  11. Thank you Yo Eleven, your info jives with what I've researched. I asked on the Princess board if they accept hop bets on Princess ships and got only one reply, no. I guess the objective of the hops seven and eleven bet in the dark side strategy I was reading about is to hedge your don't pass bet on the roll out. If you survive the roll out, you lose your 7/11 bets but now the odds are in your favor. If shooter rolls out 7/11, you win $15/$17 and recoup some of your don't pass bet. This strategy make any sense to you?

Hedging a good be with a bad bet is just stupid.

I bet come bets, and always keep the odds working on the comout roll. Often I have a lot of money up, and all too often the shooter rolls a seven on the comeout. I can't tell you how many times somebody has suggested to me that I bet the big red to hedge my come bets.

  12. I have been on both....

Very possible. Did Sea Escape a lot until they shipped out of here.

Then hit Princess, but they left as well. Supposedly a new ship is coming to town again and they should have craps. I am trying to see if I recognize you in your avatar but too small, but you probably seen me there. Thumbs up!

You would have recognized me from the mustache if you knew me. Plus, I am a pretty big guy (tall and wide). Plus, I bet pretty big when I am at the craps table.

I have not heard anything about a new ship coming in.

  13. Keep posting your nonsense, it is very entertaining....

And you got hired in Vegas as a dealer? Funny and sad at the same time.

Yes they are all sucker bets. Nor do I tout them. I am comparing the two. But, you are too ignorant to comprehend this.

But who cares anyway, as I said comparing them I would make a hop bet any day over ANY SEVEN. Just because it is a much better bet doesn't make it a good bet.

You guys are both funny, arguing over which sucker bet is worse. At lease you agree that they are sucker bets.

Yo Eleven, do I know you from the Sea Escape and Sun Cruz craps tables?

    Bruce

  14. I use Put bets in a 20X odds game....you don't have to repeat to collect as you do with a regular come bet. They only make good sense in a high free-odds game (20X) where the come-out flat bet is really irrelevant to the total bet.

That makes sense. I have never played where more than 5x odds are allowed.

  15. Curious, if the seven rolls on the come out and you lose your come & odds bets, have you ever paid to keep all your come bets up? This is known as a PUT bet.

No, put bets are bad bets, and I never make bad bets.

Well, the only time I make a bad bet is when I bet hardways for the dealers. I usually do this when all the come bets are covered.

  16. A big thank you to LSTEFFA and Cruzincurt. I am so understanding it now and very excited to try it. I LOVE those odds.

Is the max allowed on come bet usually the same as the pass line. ie 2x or 3x?

    cheers,

    Paddy Anne

The maximum allowed odds for come bets is the same as for the pass line bet. If you can afford it, always take maximum odds allowed.

Some casinos, NCL for example, allow 3x 4x 5x odds. That is 3 times odds on the four and ten, four times odds on the five and nine, and five times odds on the six and eight.

Personally, I go all the way with come bets, so if the shooter makes all the numbers, I will have the pass line and five come bets working.

Another thing I do is have my odds working on the come out roll. Normally, odds are off on the come out roll, unless you call them on, which I always do.

  17. Btyko....Regarding the 3X4x5X odds game, IF you take MAX odds the payoff is 7X your front line regardless of what the point is..makes it a little easier to make sure you are paid correctly.

Yes, the payoff is always the same, seven times the flat bet, if you take maximum odds. You just have to be careful that you put up the correct odds bet. Since I bet progressively, I have to always be thinking, but since I am an accountant it is not that difficult for me.

  18. My experience lately is with Carnival and Royal. Both only allow single odds with maybe one evening with double odds. The dealers on my last Royal cruise were not very good. Carnival also had one night with $3 table minimums. On one Holland America cruise, my DW and I were often the only craps players. I threw dice one evening for two hours by myself. So, no more HAL for us.

In my opinion, the best craps dealers come from England or Australia.

Carnival, and Carnival owned cruise lines allow double odds.

NCL allows 3x4x5x odds. That is 3x odds on the four and ten, 4x odds on the five and nine, and 5x odds on the six and eight. It gets confusing, but that is the best odds I have seen on cruise lines.

NCL will give high rollers better perks, once you have have established history with them.
