This line in their email is exactly one of the prime examples of Norwegian dropping the ball entirely. Why put a (less than 24 hour) deadline on providing a full refund for ANYONE who didn’t want to do the shorter itinerary. Makes zero sense in terms of customer service by telling customers they have until 9pm on a holiday weekend Sunday to cancel, when they have minimal staff on the phones. I spent 2 hours of my day today trying to rebook. So so wrong.
Exactly... we weren't able to put any deadlines on them, for sure. Most travel agencies are closed until Tuesday. Why the additional angst for NCL cruisers? One thing they really could have done well was be somewhat accomodating and make this easy and they didn't even do that. They certainly aren't looking for or concerned about repeat customers. Hope everyone gets home safe and with minimal stress. You travelers all need a staycation after the hours spent traveling/figuring out the NCL "nocation"! Us Floridians are another story. Stay away Dorian!

I am curious. If you book with a TA, should not your TA work on getting the refund? Or does NCL allow you to contact them directly? Maybe this is one of the situations it pays to book directly with NCL. I would never wait on hold, I would simply email my PCC about cancelling or refunds.
Yes, NCL told us to have TA do it, but just a bit nervous since the travel company is not open for the holiday weekend and we are in FL so could lose cell service on Tues. I sent emails just in case.

When we talked to NCL this morning they said we would have to get our refund through our travel company, which is closed until Tuesday, yet they want us to spend a couple of hours on hold (if we don't get hung up on) to let them know if we are going to show up for the Wed. cruise?? (NO) Has anyone tried emailing NCL successfully?

Yes, thank you! and yes, Bird, Coast Guard is ultimately in charge.
-
Thx, I understand that but was referring to the Getaway... they are holding it in Cozumel and apparently planning a Tuesday return.
-
Hoping they reevaluate, latest models show the storm has slowed down and won't hit land until late Monday or sometime Tuesday.
-
Wow, latest forecast shows the storm it is not even going to hit land until very late Monday night at the earliest. I hope they reevaluate things tomorrow!

I agree with the lack of communication and customer service from NCL. But the good news is the cruise will leave tomorrow. We live close to PC and a relative works for PC. They cannot control what the individual cruise lines put out, but in the past, if weather was too bad to return, those cruises got extra days at sea! We are scheduled for Sun. NCL cruise from Miami and no statement there either. NCL has worst customer service ever! Would never cruise with them if it wasn't for the extreme last minute discounts we get in FL.

Last year we found out on last day of our cruise that Norwegian had put the wrong perks in the on board system for us. I showed her our reservation and documents and she agreed it was an error with Miami's system and said we would have to call normal CS to fix it (I had everything documented and proof that those were not the perks we choose). Ended up calling and emailing for the next couple weeks. Calls always took 30 min to an hour and I was never able to get our refund. They basically ignored me or transferred me to another area where they would tell me that wasn't what their system showed! I sent all of my records and no response. Make sure issues are resolved before you debark!

Great nfo, can anyone tell me if you can CHANGE (undesirable) dining/entertainment reservations made prior to travel on the app to better times? Also, can you book comedy on the app? Thx!!
-
Ok, thx! That's all I needed to know was if you were allowed to book then change times once on board!
-
We just booked the 9/1 Breakaway and are in the same boat, (ship!). There are a few reservations available online at awful times. If I go ahead and book them, will be able to change them when we board or are obligated to stay with the reservation time made online?
-
Wow, kinda surprised it varies so much from ship to ship. can anyone post recent minimums for The Navigator or Oasis? Thx!

Hi does anyone know what blackjack minimums are in 2018 on the Navigator or Oasis?
-
We live 20 min. south of Port Canaveral and our son goes to USF...he is on his way home now, takes about 2 1/2 hours, maybe less, so yes it is doable, HOWEVER, you might want to check into the hotels around the port because a couple of them offer free parking during your cruise and a shuttle to the port so it might actually cost less than parking at the port all week and you could enjoy a beautiful evening on the Space Coast! Sorry, I do not know which hotels, but do a little search if it interests you.

Anyone know what minimum is on blackjack tables this year? Thx!
-
Any updates on table minimums in 2018? Recently cruised on Norwegian and Blackjack and Craps were $10 minimums all day, hardly anyone playing. We enjoy a $5/6 table but $10 is too much!

Thank you for the suggestions. We will probably stay within a walkable distance of the Malecan...will have to save those southern beach clubs for a land trip sometime!
-
Thank you, I would like to explore outside of the touristy area, but afraid of getting stuck without transportation. I'm used to uncrowded beaches where I live in Florida...although the water looks beautiful in Costa Maya, congested loungers are of no interest! Anyone know if Nohoch Kay Beach Club allows drop in or is it all AI only?
-
Hi, I have been on tripadvisor and saw a number of restaurants on the southern end of Mahahual that have great reviews, beautiful views but little to no info. on CC. Has anyone been to Yemaya, Sulumar, Maya Luna or any of the other southern end places? Hayha Beach also has fabulous reviews but it is farther south of Maya Chan, so not sure about transportation costs. We would like to spend most of the day walking/ exploring the Malecon but a lounger and snack on an uncrowded beach would be a nice way to end it before heading back to port!
-
I am wondering if you can just go to Nohoch Kay Club for lunch or a couple of beers and use a lounger for an hour or so? Not interested in AI.

Sorry, that was supposed to be a link to the facebook page "What's going on in St. Thomas". It pops up when googled.

Thanks, there is some good info. on this facebook page as well. A poster; Kelsey Morrison was asking for advice and got a lot of replies. Here in central Florida, the news talks about Puerto Rico all day, but nothing about USVI.

Geeze, we would have been in your shoes if we left a week earlier, parked at Port as well. I agree, shame on the few that are calling u all crybabies and think they are above all of this. If they don't have a question or can't contribute something positive, stay off the boards. NCL told us yesterday afternoon that you guys would be departing and we (9/1 boarders) would be boarding at 8 this morning. Like you said, it was announced at noon yesterday that port of Miami would be closing, so something doesn't add up. So sorry they put you in this position. Has anything even been explained? Like why they didn't dock in Key West or Tampa! New Orleans is a long way, hope they get you all back quickly and safely. Prayers for all.
