they also do whaling watching excusuions....trying to do that in feb since it is whale migration season past Grand turks!!
The whale watching sounds wonderful. What kind of whales usually?
Two weeks ago we were just motoring to our 1st snorkel spot, and found a pod of dolphins swimming along. Fantastic!

On ships wih a Taste Bar, sushi is now at the Lido Buffet.
We tried to get sushi a couple of weeks ago. We went up to the Lido, but they just had 2 types, and none of the fun condiments. I am vegetarian, and was always able to get vegetarian sushi before. On the Lido, there was a sign identifying one of the two types as vegetarian. However the sign was erroneous, as the sushi had seafood in it.

Don't really care about it. I like the perks we have, but if 15 or 30 other cabins on the ship get it, not really going to affect us.
Did a cruise this month, and honestly could not see any differences.
-
I think they converted the sushi stations to be the new "Taste Bar".
-
You could. Quite a distance to swim to the wall/dropoff. Actually, just be very careful having enough energy to swim back to shore.
-
That sounds really nice. I'll have to try it next time.

I would use taxi's and skip the driving. I've seen people hurt pretty badly from scooter accidents. They also said it cost a fortune to pay for scooter, car, hospital before being allowed to leave.

Honeymooners? Going to Honeymoon Beach? Sounds perfect.

I think they would be safer scheduling smaller ships to Roatan. I think the Dream is just too large for the conditions often present.
-
It was originally marketed as unlimited, but has just been clarified as 15 drinks in a day.
-
We missed Roatan, cruising on the Dream. Another Carnival ship immediately after us was able to dock. The Dream is just too big to make it into the channel, if the current is at all strong.

Another vote for BodyGlide. Got mine at REI.

Yes, each Platinum guest is allowed 3 bags per week.

There is NO 15 drink maximum.
15 drinks is a checkpoint. If the passenger is visibly intoxicated, that's it, no more.
If a passenger started with a beverage at 8AM and drink 15 is ordered at 10PM, then you will probably be served.
On the Liberty last week, they cut people off at 15 drinks. Big guys, & not drunk. I guess different ships have different interpretations of the rules.

I love your review as well. I leave for the airport in 3 hours, and get on the Liberty Sat am! I swear, this time I am going to post a review!
-
I think I would drink more, trying to get my money's worth. That would not be good for my waistline, due to the calories in the fruity drinks I like, and my headache in the morning.
-
This is great! Keep going - we sail the Liberty on Sat. I can't wait.

I think you might have more luck with Voluntourism with a poorer island, such as Haiti.

We toured with Bernard last year, and had a great time. Loved the airplanes!

At night, be very careful closing drapes. Some people close them, but leave openings at sides. They are not private. I've had a dinner companion tell me it was special glass, and nobody could see in. She was very surprised when we experimented.

Lots of different chocolate items, and some other sweets as well. Home-made marshmallows, jelly candies, etc. Fresh fruit that can be dipped into chocolate fountain. Pineapple is my favorite.

I've done snorkeling/diving with Grand Turk Divers before. Very nice.
There is also an operation called Crystal Seas Adventures. We're going snorkeling with them next week. (I've used one of Crystal Sea's Guides named Daniel Oselette before - he is terrific!)
Last April, we actually had a whale shark appear at the end of our dive. He stayed & played with us for over 10 min. Fantastic!
-
I would do it on the Liberty next week, but my daughters both turned 21 the other day, so I would have to pay for all 3 of us. Neither of them drink alcohol, so definitely not worth the money.

I would guess they use the same company. The cruise lines probably set their own weight limits.
Anyone ever get left behind in port?

Last year in Nassau a young couple missed their Carnival ship, but were taken on by our Carnival ship. The young woman was pregnant, so perhaps the authorities were more sympathetic.
The couple had only bathing suits & swim coverups, no real clothes. I felt so sorry for them.
