  1. I’m bumping this up.

Surely some of you lovely experienced cruisers would know how to book a hair appointment.

Please help..... is there even a hair salon on board?

Seems odd that there are hundreds of different spa treatments to book online but nothing for hair.

  2. Is there any way to book hair appointments (Epic) on line before the cruise departs or do you have to wait until embarkation day?

I can see that spa appointments can be booked, but unless I’m looking in the wrong place, there doesn’t appear to be anyway to pre book for hair.

  3. Oh yes, another question about Epic entertainment.

There is something called “Headliners Comedy Club” and something called “Howl at the Moon”

In the UK, stand up comedy is a really big thing, so any venue that has comedy would be a huge draw for me.

Is the Comedy club on every night, and if so, which venue?

Is Howl at the moon just a piano thing?

The NCL information page is very vague so any information would be very gratefully received, thank you.

  4. Hello.

We’re NCL new people and I’ve got a few questions regarding the entertainment on Epic.

We’ve cruised on other big ships that have different shows every night and we’ve never had to book a show before boarding.

A holiday/vacation is part planning our trips but once back on board the ship we don’t know what we feel like doing until the moment. Flexibility is everything to us.

I’m not comfortable with booking all my entertainment beforehand, so my questions are these

1)If we just show up, will we get in?

    2) What is Cirque dreams?

Is it circus? Do you have dinner while watching a show?

    3) Does the escape room get booked up quickly?

    4) Pricilla appears to only be on 2 nights on my cruise, according to my booking facility.

Are other things on at the theatre on other nights or is that it?

Only Pricilla or Burn the Floor?

    Thanks for helping

  5. Hello

We’re NCL newbies and off on a cruise in October.

From Livorno we’re doing our own thing and getting a train to Florence.

(I’ve been on the “Italy” section, they told me to pop over to you, here.)

I know that we can get a taxi to the station, but I’ve heard that some cruise lines offer a shuttle from the port direct to the railway/train station and I wondered if NCL do this.

Apparently they did at one time, and I wondered if this was still the case?

    Anyone been recently?

  6. I’m also interested in this company.

There appears to be 3 different types of transfer with them

€19 for a return trip on a coach ( do it yourself when you get there)

€35 (I think) for a trip that includes 3 stops (Vatican, Collasseum and something else, I forget and haven’t got my notes in front of me)

€70 for a more in depth tour but only 8 in the group.

It seems like very good value for money compared to others tours and seems like an easier way to get into Rome than the faff of the train....and you get picked up at the port.

I’d love to know if anyone has used either of the three options.

Also in October, leaving the port, would there be plenty of tour guides/drivers available and if so, what do they charge for a return journey?

  7. Hello to you wonderful knowledgable people.

We're going take the train from Livorno to Florence and have read on some other threads that some cruise lines offer a shuttle directly from port to the railway station.

Does anyone know if NCL offer this service and if so do they offer the same service going back to the ship from the station?

The last time we did this in 2012 we found it really hard to find a taxi anywhere. ( although, I'd be more organised this time and have taxi phone number to hand.) However, it would ease my mind if I knew that there was a bus directly back to ship.

  8. If you have a gold dress then I personally wouldn't wear a shawl or anything with it.

However if you feel the cold and must have something then try and match with another gold colour.

I would never put a black shawl with a gold dress. It will drain the gold.

At this time of the year there is so much out gold out there. Just google "gold shawl".

Hope that you find something gorgeous.

  9. Try this one it appears to be up to date.

Thanks for the reply (and everyone else that has replied) but that link just gives me the itinerary that I already have details of.

It's the actual times of arrival and departure in each port that I can't find.

It's incredibly frustrating when you are trying to plan independent travel/days out .

It appears that for some reason P and O don't want to give the information out.

However, the relevant ports MUST know in advance what tines the ships are arriving.

P and O can't just turn up when they feel like it.

The information is out there somewhere!!!

  10. Also when I check port information to see which other ships are in port the same day, for example Barbados, Antigua, St Kitts, Amber Cove, Guadeloupe etc for every day/destination of the cruise, it doesn't show the Azura anywhere.

    It just seems really odd.

  11. http://www.cruisecal.com/portal/ItineraryLookup/tabid/2918/Default.aspx

Does this give you the information you need? Select Azura from the drop down ship list and scroll down to your departure date. 'View' gives you port times and other ships in port.

The itinerary is different. We're leaving on 29th Dec and our itinerary should have overnight in Antigua, the 3rd were in St Kitts not Tortola, and the 7th Guadaloupe and not St Maatin.

I received the holiday information brochure through the post the other day and it's still showing the original itinerary. I do hope that it hasn't been changed.

  12. I'm trying to find out what time our ship will be in port in various locations on our New Year cruise.

When I look on cruiseTT it shows the itinerary for later in the year (June for example) but nothing at all from January to March.

Also looking at the various ports (Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia etc) it's not showing the ship in port at all on any of the days when it should be there.

Anyone know the reason for this?

  13. Thanks for the replies.

Florry can I just clarify something please that you mentioned about the dining on New Years Eve.

We are anytime/flexible dining. This suits us because we tend to eat at different times and vary our meal times according to any entertainment that we might want to go to.

Did you say that on NYE the dining is fixed dining, and if so will we need to book a time before we board?

Also, I know that there will be four formal nights but what is a Gala night?

On the nights that are not formal do some people still dress up a bit?

Our last cruise was Celebrity and there were no formal nights at all which was a bit disappointing for us. I love a chance to glam up.

We're really looking forward to this cruise.

  14. Hello Everyone

We've just booked to go on the Azura over New Year departing from Barbados and I do have a few questions which I hope that you experienced cruisers can help me with.

    1) on black and white night, do most ladies wear a dress that is a mixture of black and white or is it acceptable to wear a long white dress or a long black dress?

    2) On the other theme nights such as 60's or tropical, are these on casual nights and how many tend to join in?

I'm happy to join in with the majority but won't bother if others don't.

    3) For New Years Eve ( which I presume will be formal night) would you recommend main dining room or Epicurean restaurant?

    4) Are the formal nights usually on sea days?

I do appreciate any help and advice. We've only cruised a handful of times, and only once before on P&O (Brittania).

  15. Either scenario is possible, but if they are so far away that the private shore excursions take a long time to get there and back, I'm guessing that Celebrity never offered one at all.

It's about an hour and a half each way.

We are there from 8.00 to 17.00. The other independent tours arrive back at 6.00pm.

They do tours from to Krka lakes from Split the day before which is the same distance so it seems odd not to do this one.

    Perhaps they have sold out.

I just wondered if anyone had done one from a Celebrity ship previously.

  16. I also have a question about a shore excursion.

We are going to Zadar in a few weeks and wanted to go to Plitvice Lakes.

All the independent tours will get back too late for the ship so I looked at Celebrity to see how much theirs is but they are not showing one.

As the lakes are a huge tourist attraction, it seems odd that Celebrity don't do a trip there.... or might it be that it is not showing because they have sold out?

  17. We made the small investment to buy plastic luggage sleeves and ties that we reuse each cruise. They've been brilliant and saves a lot of mucking about. We have the tags all set up before we leave home, pop them in my wives bag, and just attach them when we need to after flying into the cruise departure city.

    Or even on eBay.

I didn't even know these tags existed.

I ordered some and they came today ....thanks for the recommendation.

They will do the job nicely.

  18. The tags from the printer are garbage, Two bags were not delivered to the cabin because they fell off, .

The tags from "the printer" are only as good as your own personal printer and the quality of paper that you buy!

If I feel that I am worried about the quality then I would laminate them or at least strengthen them with sticky tape.

  19. Have you tried getting into the reservation from 'My Celebrity' rather than the email link? Your booking should be on there. You won't get the preprinted luggage tags being in the UK, you'll need to print them off your docs or obtain them at the port. Did you book a package i.e. flights and transfers included or just the cruise?

That's what I did in the end.

I couldn't get the e mail link to work so I went on the Celebrity website then clicked on "already booked" and then went to "online check in.

It then let me print my Xpress pass from there and view my e docs.

  20. You only need the one express for both of you.

When your printers dialog box opens you should have the option to print only certain pages. The luggage tags are probably on the last page or so of the e-doc PDF so just print those pages.

I never knew that about the printer...it worked.

    Thank you so much.
