  1. Hi, we sailed on FOTS last year. We haven't been on the Breeze, but have been on other Carnival ships (Conquest in 2014).

We loved them both. The sports staff on FOTS is great, we spent a lot of time there, playing soccer, on the climbing wall and flow rider. On Carnival we loved Blue Iguana's cantina, the sea day brunch.

Sorry, I am really not much help, I think you'll have a great time on either ship!

  2. We were just on the Breeze. The partitions on both sides of our balcony(6433) were able to be open. Ours want latched because they had washed the deck down that morning. Room steward has the tool to open the divider. Have fun!! We booked the Magic for next April....

Thanks! I'll try to write a review, let me know if you have specific questions and I'll try to find the answer in August.

  3. Hi,

We're booked on Carnival Magic this summer in connecting stateroom 8236 and 8240 and I am looking for your opinions on these rooms on Magic (or Breeze, or Dream because I believe these are the same?). Can the partition between the balconies be opened? Is this a good location? Pictures are of course very welcome!

    Thanks!

  4. Not crazy:)! I hope you'll love them all. I really did not think cruising was something for me, but went on a trip with the whole family, thinking I would at least enjoy the ports. Loved it immediately! We're booked on our fifth cruise this summer.

What a wonderful way to spend time with your dad!

  5. Hello,

I always really like the 'ship A' or 'ship B' threads and look forward to your thoughts on this one: Carnival Magic or RCCL's Freedom of the Seas?

We have sailed the Carnival Legend (first cruise! Amazing), the Liberty of the Seas and more recently the Carnival Conquest and the Freedom of the Seas.

Comparing the last two we loved them both equally.

There were some things we liked more on the Conquest (breakfast burrito's at Blue Iguana's Cantina!) and some we preferred on the FOTS (sports court and sports staff). We are booked on the Carnival Magic this summer.

I think this combines all the things we loved on both the Conquest and the FOTS.

Yet the Freedom of the Seas has a much better score here on Cruise Critic than the Magic.

So, for those of you that sailed both. Which one did you prefer and why?

I have no doubt we'll have an amazing time and can't wait to go, but I am interested in your opinions.

    Thanks!

  6. We -family with two teens- have had two absolutely amazing cruise vacations in the last couple of years, on the Conquest and the Freedom of the Seas respectively. When I proposed to do something different this year, I was outvoted 3-1 so guess what we're doing this year :).

Like many here I am a planner and you, the people on the Cruise Critic board, have been an amazing source of wisdom for me. We have saved money (bringing wine in our carry on, OBC after a price drop etcetera), have had amazing adventures in the ports of call and great food thanks to the recommendations on the various boards.

For that, I would like to thank you all!

Of course, now that we have another cruise to look forward to, I am back.

I find the Carnival vs Royal Caribbean debate always interesting so I thought I`d add my two cents. I can only compare the Conquest vs the Freedom of the Seas, we`re sailing Carnival Magic later this year.

We actually had a great time on both ships, and I think they are very close. We sailed in the same period (early May) and I did not see a big difference in the type of passengers.

Overall: both were great. Some differences, but I`d say it is a tie.

Food: Interestingly, we all preferred the food on the Conquest. I did not expect that. The experience in the MDR (my time dining) and the food was just a little better. Plus, we really liked the seaday brunch and the kids loved Blue Iguana's cantina. Breakfast burrito`s!

Entertainment: I wouldn't know. We somehow always end up having a late dinner and miss the shows. Casino was fine on both ships, kids preferred the Carnival arcade.

Stateroom: not a fair comparison. We stayed in a junior suite on the Conquest which was really nice, but on the Freedom we had one of the brand new Family Panoramic Ocean View rooms, which was absolutely amazing. If you ever have the chance to book that one, don`t hesitate!

Sports deck: definitely RCCL. Great crew on the Freedom of the Seas. They were friendly, fun and flexible, organising additional daily soccer tournaments because there were so many enthusiastic players on board. We spent a lot of time there (oh - that`s probably why we missed the shows :D). Kids liked the slides on the Conquest, but sports staff was a little uninterested and most sports events were adult only.

Staff: with the exception of the sports staff (Really great on FOTS, meh on Conquest) both ships had excellent staff.

Now I am off to the Magic boards again!

  7. Hi Adg15

Wondering how your cabin 1804 was on the Voyager of the Seas. What side of the ship is it on?

    Cheers

Hello, sorry it took me so long to get back to this. We were actually in 1854, which is on the port side of the ship, so 1804 is on the starboard side. However, both because the cabin is so wide it almost seems like you are in the middle of the ship. We thought this cabin was amazing and would book it again in a heartbeat. The entrance - where both bathrooms are - is a little narrow, particularly if doors are opened at the same time :), but that was not really an issue. We had no problems with the closet space, but there were only four of us. We did not feel a lot of movement, but we did have great weather all week.

The views are amazing, even at night sometimes. We absolutely loved this cabin, far more spacious than a JS and in my view the best we ever had.
