WOW that is quite an adventure you have lined up. I did this itinerary (Singapore to Dubai) in May 2015 on the Rhapsody of the Seas but with many more ports of call. Mumbai was included which was quite an experience!!! Let's hope we are joined by many more of our LGBT family.

I, too, am hoping there will be more LGBT family on board. I am on two other threads for str8's which is where I found the tours that we have already booked (besides the Taj we are doing Petra and Wadi Rum in Jordan). Personally I just enjoy being on the ship and being catered to by the staff...whereas Rich is a history-buff and wants to see as many sites as possible.

You mentioned that there were 6 others (and possibly more) traveling with you. Are they gay or str8? We will be traveling from Des Moines, IA in the USA to Singapore arriving roughly 2 days before boarding the ship. We are trying to upgrade to business class for that long of a flight. Where will you be traveling from or do you live in Singapore?

Yes, my traveling buddy, Rich, and I have booked the full Global Odyssey Tour from Singapore to Miami on the Mariner of the Seas, so we will be on the ship with you for the Singapore to Dubai segment. We have booked a private tour for the Taj Mahal which I believe it is completely filled now. The ship offers an excursion to the Taj for $1,600 US but we went through a local provider and got it for $600 US. It is basically the same tour but saved $1,000 US...can use that for the bar bill....!!

Anyone doing the RCCL Mariner of the Seas from Singapore to Miami in April & May 2018? It is 3 cruises combined for 41 days to re-position the ship from serving S.E. Asia back to the Caribbean. Didn't see a thread for it on the G&L listings yet. We are booked on it and looking forward to finding others that might be going as well.

Anyone know why Celebrity's Edge is not booking a TA from Europe to Miami before starting service in the Caribbean? Seems like a huge waste of fuel and time to not give passengers a chance to enjoy a TA on a brand new ship.

I (John) and a friend (Rich) are very likely to be booking this cruise. Having been through the old Panama Canal locks this will be an opportunity to see how the new locks work from a larger -- and new -- ship. Would have liked to do the TA to New York and then take the ship down to Miami but the trip from New York to Miami is being used by the cruise line for its "travel partners." So far they are not booking anyone else but travel partners.

Just found out that a solo cabin with air/hotel/transfers is over $16K...not sure I want to spend that much although it would be an adventure. I thought the single cabins for solo travelers would be a lot cheaper, but cost the same as regular cabin w/balcony for 2 people. :eek:

I have done a lot of the places the ship goes to in the Med but haven't been beyond Egypt...so Suez Canal and further east would be great! Would like to book additional time in China to see more sights but not sure I would want to do that alone.

Haven't booked yet but am checking it out. Trying to talk friend into going...if not, then I will check out one of the solo rooms w/balcony. Just need a long cruise to relax! :rolleyes:
