  1. We are boarding Symphony of the Seas on Saturday, November 23, with our family of 13 in 4 cabins.....  Questions:

    1.  Can we board earlier than our 'stated' time on our Sea Pass paperwork?  (We all got different times on our registrations, from 1:00 to 3:00).

    2.  If we can come earlier than our 'boarding time', what it is the earliest you have arrived at port and been able to get checked in and board?  (No, we did not purchase a special pass to get on early and we have only cruised Royal once before).

    3.  If we can board earlier - what time should we arrive at port (I'm assuming there will be a line) and how long was your wait in line?

    4.  We were not able to book the shows online (they were gone quickly), so now we need to get onboard as soon as possible and try to book the shows on the ship - Where do we go to book the shows?  (When I call the Royal Caribbean phone number, they told me to go to the Guest Services desk to book the shows, but I can't believe they'll take care of that there with all the other questions people will be standing in line for on that day.... We just don't want to wait in the wrong place only to find out we lost an hour).

    5.  We have 6 children 14 and under - Does anyone have thoughts on the Adventure Ocean activities?  Did your child attend?  What age were they and what were there favorite things to do?  We have two 11 year old girls and a 9 year old girl - I'm thinking there should be some fun things for them but I can't get them excited about it because I don't really know what they have to offer...…      2 - 14 year old girls...…   1 - 8 year old boy...…     1 - 17 year old girl

    6.  Does anyone have a copy of the youth activities things that are going on?  Are there daily activities like for the adults?

Thank you all so much for ANY information you can pass on!  We're so excited about this adventure!

  2. We are going to be on the Symphony of the Seas with our grandchildren and we would like to be able to text with them onboard so that we know where they are without making them come back to check in all the time.  Do you have to purchase an internet plan for all of us to do this or is there a ‘social plan’ that will work or do they have something that is free on the app that could work?  Obviously, we don’t want to buy an internet plan for all of us, so I’m looking for our options.  Thank you!

  3. Thank you for your help!

Do you know anything about the 'wristband' for $4.99?  Do these work as room keys, and can items be bought with them?  Are they waterproof?  We are considering them for the children so that they aren't as likely to lose them as a room key but I've called Royal twice and gotten two totally different answers...…   Thank you!

  4. We are taking a family cruise in November with 6 adults and 7 children (ages 8, 9, 11, 11, 14, 14, 17) and we have not cruised on Symphony of the Seas before.  Could anyone help me with answers specifically for this ship?

How many outlets are there in the cabin?  Are there any USB ports?

What are the adults typically wearing to dinner in the main dining room on a normal night and also on formal night?

    What shows would you recommend?

Did your child(ren) enjoy the kids activities?

Is there anything else you would recommend that we not miss, see, or do?

Also, we could use tips on what to bring for the room.....

Thank you so much for any information that you pass on!

  5. We have cruised on Carnival with friends and had the balcony partitions open to make one large balcony. I just called Royal to inquire about booking two balcony rooms - when I asked to make sure that the partition could be opened between the balconies, she stated that Royal no longer allows balcony partitions to be opened (except in rare cases with the approval of the ship staff). Has anyone had a recent experience with this? Is it true that they no longer open any balcony partitions? Thank you for your help and experience!

  6. We are considering booking two balcony cabins on Royal. We have gone on many Carnival cruises with friends and always have the two balconies opened into one large balcony space. When I called Royal to check on Independence of the Seals and Adventure of the Seas, I was told that they can no longer open the balcony partitions on any of the ships (except once in a while at the discretion of the workers). Does anyone have any current information on whether they have had their balcony partitions opened? Thank you for all of your help!
