  1. I forget exactly how long it was, possibly an hour and a half. The tables are set in place around the stage just like the circque dreams show with banquet seating, around 8 people per table. Five of the six wine glasses are set up and poured for you with your place setting. The show progresses through lunch and you get cues on when to drink the next glass. We were lucky enough to have the same narrator on Getaway and Breakaway.

  2. For a five year old ship, it is showing some wear. Things I noticed a couple weeks ago were broken or missing tiles in random places, the seats in the theater are just dreadful (actually noticed that last year) and hopefully they will retrofit the casino with an enclosed smoking area like Escape.

  3. The social media package is 12.95 per day per device and gives you access to Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. Facebook messenger and iMessage also works with it.

iConcierge will let you do some basic things like booking shows and dinners, review your account and see some of the activities of the day for free. You can upgrade it for $8-10 for the entire cruse to use the built in texting to others that have also upgraded it. The app itself doesn’t give you notifications for incoming texts or for upcoming booked event reminders. Two things that would make it much better and would not be very difficult to program.

  4. If I'm not mistaken, Mr Pibb is a regionalized poor man's version of Dr Pepper.

Mr Pibb is a coke product, but usually only found in areas where coke doesn’t have the rights to distribute Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper is a Cadbury/Swheppes item that is surprisingly not distributed by the Dr Pepper/Snapple Group which handles Canada Dry and 7UP, instead it is contracted out to regional coke or Pepsi bottlers. It gets even stranger in some areas where Coke might have the fountain rights, but Pepsi has the bottling rights.

Is that enough to make your head spin? Try working for a retailer that sees these different scenarios play out not just across state line, but can vary from county to county.

  5. Actually I have sailed on the Norway, so I have. This is again harsh that people have to deal with 36 hours of 30+ waves, but, for all of you that luv it good for you. I wish all of you the 2+ hours I hope those Azipods still work.

Why do you care??? Don't you think the passengers who booked this cruise understood bad weather this time of the year was a possibility?? And whats all this talk about Azipods?? Are you a ship engineer?? Give us all a friggen break!!!!!!!

Of course we knew the possibility of bad weather in winter. We were fine, and the ship performed exactly the way it was designed to. Skipping Nassau allowed us to take our time up the coast instead of just plowing through at full speed. Obviously not an engineer, Breakaway only has 2 azipods, not 3. Probably just wanted to use a word to sound good because the Gem had a problem with one a few months ago.

  6. We didn’t hear of any damage during the week. The worst thing we’re the random biohazard spots that needed attention. 🤮 I know they tied down our loungers, chairs and table on our balcony on Friday and the upper decks were closed from Friday on. I read that strong currents in the river are causing the delay. You should be off soon, it gives you a chance to explore the ship before leaving.

  7. Personally I deal with the Pepsi, even though is strongly prefer Coke, Coke Zero to be specific. The next cruise we are booked on, we will be traveling with several Coke employees, and it will be interesting to see what they do. Being seen drinking Pepsi in public for them can be a fireable offense.

  8. This has always been one of those polarizing shows. Either you love it or you hate it. When it closed on Broadway, I thought it would just get picked up at another theater, but still hasn’t. Same thing when it closed in Vegas this year. Sadly, I have a bad feeling it’s days are numbered on breakaway also. I would hate to see it go because it really is nothin but a good time.

  9. I read the title too fast, thought it said pirate insurance - arrr!

Anyway, our next cruise in February is the first one I bought the insurance for mostly just for the medical coverage. Heard the horror story of a person racking up a $4000 sick bay bill from a stomach bug on our last cruise.
