  1. Or is it available for the lowlier room types as well? We're new to NCL and need to find all this stuff out? Doug, do you ever eat in the main dining rooms?

Your review is fantastic and you've already helped us decide what to do in NOLA pre-cruise---charbroiled oysters it is! I just hope I can get a good bowl of gumbo or etouffee to go with it!

  2. Do you purchase from a tour operator or walk up? I see it for $65 from Cozumel Tours Excursions, but a Trip Advisor review says you can purchase at the hotel for $40. The tour operator says the hotel only allows a "certain number of people"....wonder what that is... We have six ships in port and definitely want to go somewhere that limits the number of people. But, we don't want to get left in the dust if it's full when we get there. What did you do?

  3. Also has anyone tried the fish spa?

I did a pay one in Cabo last summer and just happened to go on an excursion in Progreso last month to Dzibulchaltun ruins and cenote and what do you know? The same foot-nibbling fish were in the crystal clear beautiful cenote that we could swim in! :D If you're stopping in Progreso, do yourself a favor and take that excursion! That cenote itself was worth the whole tour price and time!

  4. I loved it! Did Chichen Itza a couple of years ago and it's definitely worth seeing. Really incredible to think of how they lived back then, but they do not let you climb on those ruins. The Autoprogreso excursion to Dzibulchaltun was really great---awesome guide and you cannot beat the beautiful cenote to swim in. Highly recommend!

  5. About to head out on my 8th cruise and I can't for the life of me remember the deal with port times! Argh! Hormones! When in port, do you stay on ship time or local time? For example, our stay in St. Thomas is 11a-7p. Is that ship's time or local time?

    Thanks!

  6. My mom's sailing the Sunshine in February and I'm jealous! We usually sail out of NOLA, since we can drive their in a few hours, but decided to take one of the newer bigger ships this time. When we booked a year ago, we decided to fly to Orlando to take the Dream. And now, lo and behold, the Dream is coming to NOLA 3 months after we FLY to sail her in January! Oh, well!

Keep up the great work! And thanks for taking the time!

  7. Sailed the Elation a couple of times already and will be back on her in 24 days! Can't wait! Always a good time! Gonna do my best to make it down to NOLA earlier the day before so hubby and I can at least enjoy a little of that before the cruise. We're driving down from Memphis. My cousin and her hubby are coming in from Florida, too, to cruise with us.

Can't wait to see more of your review!
