They'll do the white hot party on the deck one night, that was really fun.

Beautiful picture!Mom and Stephanie went off to bed and I headed outside to the Waterfront to take some pictures of one of the most incredible horizons I’ve ever seen. It was well past 11:00 pm and there was still daylight on the horizon, layering up from the water in deeper hues until it touched the darkened sky, the only tell to the true evening hour. Traveling through the Mediterranean in the late spring always messed with my internal clock with the sun setting so late. Traveling through the Baltics was even more deceptive – there were nights when I went to bed in the early morning hours and there was still light on the horizon. Between that and the jetlag leading me to short bursts of sleep instead of full nights, my body was taking a beating, but what a way to go. There’s so much beauty in the world and how lucky was I, sailing off the Gulf of Finland, to experience this small slice of it.Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Normally I'm up for a walk, but we didn't have access to a map on our phone because we were overseas. Difficult to know where to go unless you have a GPS!Most people use taxis, but it isn’t essential (depending on which terminal). Personally, I would walk to all terminals except QE2.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree, take the train. Just know you'll then need to take a taxi from the train station to the cruise port.

I've seen both twice and prefer Jungle Dreams on Breakaway.

Thanks for that feedback! We have 3 adult females as well and I just don't want one of us to be uncomfortable all week.It depends. There are SJ cabins with 3 beds, but not all of them do. You’ll want to check the key on the deck plans. I sailed on Dawn in an SJ with my mom and sister in law, and we each had our own beds. I thought the Murphy bed I slept in was perfectly comfy, and my sis in law didn’t have any complaints about the fold out couch. And we had the best views as our beds were right by the wall of windows. :)Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Thanks. Are you saying the SJ has 3 beds all together then? The SJ bed is a large fold out couch and one that drops down from the wall. They are all WAY worse than the main bed.Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Hi guys. I tried searching for this but it's such a broad question I couldn't really find the answer I'm looking for.
We'll be on the Dawn and are considering upgrading to one of the following categories: SJ, SD, SE, SF (any of the single-room suites). Can someone please let me know what the 2nd bed (couch) is like in those rooms? Does it fold out like a pull-out sofa, or is it actually a twin bed? Is it comfortable? Does anyone have pictures of any of these suites on the Dawn or Star with the 2nd bed made up?
Thanks so much for any help. Just want to make sure the bed for the 3rd person isn't way worse/less comfortable than the main bed.

I sailed summer of 2016 and they usually had music trivia in the evenings there. It was a blast. Name that MJ song, name that 90s song, etc.Trivia at The District!Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk[/quote
Was just on the Escape three weeks ago, and we never had trivia at The District. Would have loved this as our cabins were right around the corner. Always had to go to the atrium.

I'm wondering this as well.

My empty plastic water bottle was taken from my backpack during the security check for the Breakaway in NY. I was pretty annoyed.

No, specialty coffees aren't included. Yes to the bowling alley, I believe it's $5 per game per person.

Thanks for posting! We sail in 2 weeks, so this is great to see!
Interesting that the first page of the day 1 dailies mentions the Ultimate Dining Package... Wonder if they'd just be selling the 7-day SDP or if they are actually bringing UDP back??

Awesome review. Thanks!

Looking forward to hearing more. We sail in 2 weeks. Debating the spa passes... your review is appreciated!

Doug! We took advantage of an upsell offer for the cruise that leaves this Sunday... and guess what? We'll be in your stateroom! So crazy. It was one of the three SD suites left, and knowing how great your balcony was, I picked that one!
Never been in a suite before..:D. I'm so excited to see what it's all about. Thanks again for your awesome review. Because of it, I am even more ready to get on board!

Ahh! Thank you! I've never eaten at one of those conveyor belt sushi places... that is so neat. Hopefully good! I was spoiled by the sushi at Food Republic on the Escape, but we'll see!

Doug! Loving your review!
I read your Escape review just a few weeks before I got on the ship myself, and now a Dawn review before I embark on her on 12-11! What luck.
Is there any chance you can snap a picture of the sushi menu on the Dawn? I have searched everywhere and can't find one online specifically for the Dawn, post-refurb.
Thanks!! Have so much fun! ;)

Some other things to consider: the Dawn recently underwent a HUGE renovation and the public areas look super sharp. Very Epic/Escape-esque. I am more of a "cruise for the ship" type of person, and I'm considering the Dawn in December. That itinerary for the Dawn sounds incredible.
Also remember that if you book at GTY room you won't get the free perks like the drink package and free gratuities. So if you are considering the Escape, maybe an interior or oceanview with perks would be better?
My vote would be the Dawn.

After a little investigating, I have found that the contract for the current performers for After Midnight ends on September 10th and the new cast is set to board around September 24th.

So for those of us on the Sept 10th and Sept 17th sailings, it looks like there will be no show.
Thanks for looking into it. I wonder why it can't be booked for the 9/3 sailing though?
-
I noticed that it is still not there today either? We depart on Sept. 3. I am waiting to book everything else until after I book this one since I fear the number of showings may be more limited than the others. I was going to try to call them Monday and see if they have any info to share about when it will be available to book.
I'm on this sailing as well and am a little worried that it's not available to pre-book. I really hope it will still be happening! I'm already sad that MDQ has been removed since I booked. :(
Last year on the Epic both Blue Man Group and Legends in Concert were removed from our entertainment lineup after I booked, with no notification until we were on the ship. I hope this is not the case on the Escape! The entertainment was a major reason we booked!
Dawn: what are your favorite things?
