  1. I have a question for denas. I'm in the group that doesn't think "emotional support dogs" should be on board, but I highly respect service dogs, so much, that I considered training service dogs. So back to my question. For the muster drill, are there any special direction with a service dog? I'm not in any way shape or form trying to make light of this subject, or make jokes, so please don't take it that way, but is there any special direction? Does the service dog get a life jacket if there (God forbid) was an emergency? In my opinion they should.

  2. Thanks to all who replied. I tried looking for info on this board but couldn't find anything. Guess I wasn't looking in the right place. I'll be recovering from surgery so I wouldn't be of any use to them. Thanks again for your help.

  3. They must have integrated the phone system with their CRM system. It is something I have setup with my previous employer for the Call Center. You take the ANI information from the Telco, this is the CallerID info, and have an program running on the computer system. This connects you to the call, then the process passes the ANI to the CRM and pulls up your records. Some times while you are on hold the call is in the queue and the and agent gets a call and your record gets pulled up. The agent has 10-30 seconds (depending on how it is set) to look at your history, comments so they are familiar with you as a customer. When you get connected to the agent they are already at the advantage.

Some information can be current sales/booking information, what cruises you may have looked at (interest in a sale or up-sale), if you are a nice person or on the flip side a real *#$@ to the agents etc.

In the end, it is to improve customer impressions and shorten the amount of time on the phone.

Thank you for taking the time to explain how that system works. Had I realized it when we were talking I would have asked out of curiosity. It wasn't until I hung up I asked myself...how did he do that?

  4. I had to call HAL about a charge on my charge card. I just explained to the fellow I had a question about a charge. What my post is about is that they must go by caller ID because I had my mariner number, booking number (we just got off the ship) charge card number. I wanted to be prepared for whatever they would need. He asked me to hold and when he got back on he start talking about the charge but I never gave him any info. Not even my name (people always ask us how to spell and how to pronounce our last name.) I just found it to be strange.

  5. Thanks for all that replied. We fly about 8 times a year, but never dealt with a cancelled flight. We did however miss a flight because a certain dh didn't listen to his dw and leave when SHE wanted to, thus missing our flight. We did finally get to our hotel 1:00 am the day of our cruise instead of the day before. Thanks again

  6. There is a third option.......a side to side. (Second leg would be on another ship sailing out of the same port or a neighboring port.) One thing dh doesn't like is on a b2b you kind of lose the day when you're at the port waiting to sail out again. I know you can do an excursion, or just sit back and enjoy the ship, but he just likes being elsewhere, not waiting for everyone to board. To me the 2nd leg is when I feel like I could breathe and start relaxing. On the longer ones it's only when I realize how many days we have left do I get this good feeling in side because we have a lot more days left. :D

  7. I never dealt with cancelled flights so I have a question. Can anyone tell me how things work when there are a number of flights cancelled and you have a flight booked. Once things get up and running can they give your seat to someone who had a previous cancelled flight?

  8. Only those who are pregnant or expect to get pregnant would cancel. Everyone else will still be going.

Not true. I'm not pregnant, nor do I plan on getting pregnant. But I was considering canceling because of this virus. When I saw that it could cause paralysis it made me think twice. We are sailing in 16 days and every port is on the list.

  9. I'm not sure what you mean about more affordable. There are vacation packages for Hawaii to go to 3 islands over 6 days including all flights and transportation plus hotel and breakfast and it's under $1000 pp and you get to stay on the islands vs paying $1100pp for an inside for the cruise alone on Princess and you only get 4 days in Hawaii as opposed to 6 with the air/land vacation package. To me, the cost is a wash but the advantage of being in Hawaii longer and being on the islands is much greater with the land based vacation, plus you don't waste 10 days at sea. The advantage of being on land is you get to spend more time sightseeing on the islands.

SuiteTraveler, If I were to look for something like this online what would I look for? I have only seen all-inclusive deals but the prices weren't anything near this. TIA

  10. Just wondering other than maybe taking the local bus what you would need Lempira for ?

We have been a couple of times for day stops & everyone seemed to take USD

We have been there about 5 times or more but never this area.
