and... how was it entering and exiting the water?  Is there a bit of a "sandy shelf" to deal with?? Can a couple of old folks handle getting out of the water?  It's not pretty when we need assistance!!!

The last couple of steps down the pier can be a little slippery due to algae. Sitting down and lowering worked fine. And I’m sure there will be someone with a helping hand if needed.

  2. On Mariner and stopped at Cozumel today. We took a taxi to Sky Reef based on comments from this forum. From the warm greeting on arrival, to the waiter, the crystal clear water with beautiful snorkeling, the beach massages, and, of course, Cesar’s tequila tasting…everything was great. The food was delicious and the margaritas were hand shaken and not full of overly sweet mixers…tequila and lime with maybe a little agave.

The water was clear and the fish and sea fans were a sight.

The food (grilled fish tacos, ceviche, chicken fajitas) were all fresh, hot and tasty.

A true indicator…families of locals came for lunch after attending mass down the road. Locals know.

    Highly recommend!

  3. Last cruise (Nov 2022) we got rejections a week or so before sailing...for our cruise mid-next month we our bid was accepted last week.  So the answer is: at some point between making the bid and boarding your ship.  Good luck.  This was our first success with Royal Up.  Our bid was slightly more than modest, but not high, and not so low it would be an obvious reject. There are so many factors it is really not predictable IMHO.

  4. We are heading out on Navigator at the end of the month.  First time cruising in the Fall.  Los Angeles weather looks to be highs in the upper 60's/low 70's and Ensenada looks a couple of degrees warmer.  Once sailing, is the breeze pretty cool?  Light jacket weather?  Shorts?  I'd appreciate guidance from those that have traveled this ti9me of year in these temps.  Thank you!

  5. I'd appreciate any input from those that have recently sailed Navigator.  We are set for a quick weekend after Thanksgiving.

    1. What are (if there are) the best venues for a night of dancing after dinner and a show...Boleros?  Somewhere else?  Any thoughts?

    2. In looking at the Cruise Planner, I noticed a "Class Pass X 3" package...we haven't cruised since pre-covid, but I seem to recall that there were opportunities for yoga, etc. that were free...am I misremembering?  Also, what classes are typically offered on Navigator?  We would love to have yoga/pilates/some type of exercise options and will get the pass if needed.

    Thank you!

On both Voyager and Freedom class ships, the "obstructed view" JS are aft and the obstruction is the ship's superstructure. The lower you get (i.e. deck 6) the more obstruction you get. None of the aft cabins have a direct downward view of the water.

Thank you for the explanation...can you still enjoy a view of the water looking outward as opposed to a downward view?  In other words, are the obstructions a serious detriment or just something that interferes with some of the view?  I appreciate the guidance.

I never needed any of this stuff.

Couple of cell phones is all we bring . We travel light. 🙂

We travel light too, only way for us. But since my CPAP takes an outlet, I’m just looking to maximize for 2 phones, 1 watch, and the coffee maker if needed. Many thoughtful replies on here. Thanks to all.

No issues with bringing converter plugs.  YMMV bringing a voltage converter.

Ok, educate me!  Converter plug = the thin I bought at REI several years ago that plugs into the euro outlet and has traditional American outlet slots to plug into...Voltage converter = ???

    And thank you.

  9. I know that trying to bring a power strip has the risk of it being taken...does anyone know if they will confiscate a euro converter plug, so we can use those outlets for additional devices?  I have a CPAP, so I will get an extension from our steward, but would like some additional outlets for phone charging, etc.  We are in a JS on Navigator coming up and the coffee maker is already going to take an outlet each morning.  Thanks for any input.  It has been a minute since our last cruise (pre-covid in 2019) and I am trying to shake the rust off my brain.
