Have you ever purchased that? Just wondering how easy it is to get & roughly how much it might be?We looked at it last year after my Mum passed away but ultimately didn’t need it. Our quote was around £200 for 6 months and we went through Towergate insurance. The cost will depend on the condition of the house and the circumstances around of it not being occupied. My Mum’s house wasn’t in a great condition so I was expecting the quote to be high.

Key West
Another link for you: https://fla-keys.com/travelers-with-disabilities/mobility/#:~:text=For getting around the island, provides accessible public bus service.
We did a trolley bus tour and got off and on where we fancied. The walk to the most southernly point of the US was flat as I remember.
Also key lime pie at Kermit’s is a must!

Hi Selbourne
You might find this website useful for New Orleans: https://www.neworleans.com/plan/accessibility/faqs/#:~:text=Is the French Quarter Wheelchair, can be enjoyed via wheelchair.
A couple of things we did in NOLA were:
- Coffee and beignets in Cafe du Monde the cafe is open to the street and whilst busy it’s on one level. The staff were very helpful when we went. If it’s too busy for you they also have a stall in the shopping mall on the quayside where you can get your beignets to go.
- Wander around the market in the French Quarter
- Took a steamboat cruise on the Natchez
We didn’t do Bourbon Street as our daughter was only 10 at the time but NOLA was a real highlight of our cruise and there was loads that we didn’t get to see.

Life is for living and I’m sure you will both have a wonderful time. Can’t wait to follow the live from!

Doddy’s profligacy with money was well documented. Despite being extremely wealthy he spent his whole life in the house that had been owned by his coal merchant dad and mum.
Well he did have to look after the jam butty mines 😂 Doddy was a huge supporter of the NHS and hosted the NHS carol concert in Liverpool every year whilst he was well enough to do it.

Update: I managed to get an audience with a GP earlier. He thinks it was most unlikely that I suffered from food poisoning, it was more likely to have been the early symptoms of Covid. Therefore I apologise for misleading anyone on this forum. I tested positive again today so feeling rough still. I hope everyone else who left Britannia are feeling ok.
Thanks for coming back and letting the board know. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Great to hear as we’re on Iona in a few weeks. I think we might get on as Tiger B gets off.

In fairness Iona doesn't get that many people upset by her now she's bedded in.the "problem" ship appears to be Arvia.
I enjoyed very much Selbourne's live from Iona and would welcome another one as I'm sure many would.
I’ll see what the ‘temperature’ is like on this board over the next few weeks and decide then.

So P&O are creating more queues now. NB ICF.
We’re on Iona in a few weeks so I’ll see for myself. I was going to do a ‘live from’ but given the level of vitriol the ship attracts I’m probably not going to now. ☹️

You don’t “bag” a seat at the Limelight. The seats are pre assigned and usually in order of booking.
We always book early and have always had a seat in the front row regardless of when we choose to shlep up
I believe that’s now changed, hence the queue for the best seats!

Well if it does turn out to be pagers when we board in a few weeks, we won’t use the MDR at all and will just use specialty dining instead!

Hopefully back to the turn up when you want, and if prepared to share, get seated immediately.
I do hope not! I have no interest in sharing a table - ever!

We go on `Iona in a few weeks and yes ours says the same. I wonder what the system will be instead?

I could really enjoy the cruise. Would need to sell the idea to my wife though!
We did a 35 nighter a while ago with our then 10 year old daughter on Oriana. There were around 10 other children also on board so not very many at all but it was an amazing cruise. Even better if you go via Tenerife rather than the Azores which is what we did.
Watching the colour of the sea change as the days get warmer and you head towards the Caribbean was fabulous and we’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I don't it's why I have to enforce breaks on myself
Lol
I sense another break coming very soon!!
I feel your pain! 😂
We’re due to cruise on Iona in a few weeks and was going to do a ‘live from’ but don’t think I’ll bother now given the reception the ship gets from a few extremely vocal individuals and also the ridiculous turn the recent ‘Saga’ review took.
I cruise to have a nice holiday and relax, especially after the last 12 months where I lost my Mum in quite traumatic circumstances and had major surgery 10 weeks ago. I CBA to defend my holiday experience against those descend like locusts on nearly every single thread.

Good morning! Congratulations to the family K on their new arrival and Bon voyage to all those heading off on holiday.
So I had my C booster last week and now have an unexpected side effect of COVID toe! You couldn’t make it up 😂😂
I had a little go at driving yesterday after my shoulder replacement, a bit uncomfortable but it’s a start.
Have a great day everyone.

We also had the upgrade email and booked with a TA not that we’ll be bidding as we’re more than happy with our deluxe balcony cabin. For information the prices to bid for an upgrade are as follows:
Suite £470pp
Family suite £420pp
Conservatory mini-suite £240pp
This is on Iona and interestingly the email splits the conservatory mini-suites into Promenade and non-promenade categories (even though the price is the same).

Good morning!
Covid jab today and hopefully home before Agnes pays a visit. The rest of the day will be sorting out presents for my daughter’s birthday and port planning for our upcoming cruise on Iona.
Have a great day and stay safe!

Oh I see. I won’t go down that rabbit hole of removing gratuities. I normally sail Cunard and my pet hate is the removal of gratuities. On Cunard they are shared out amongst all staff including laundry workers and galley staff. I would never be able to tip those crew members in person so I keep the auto gratuities on and tip extra to wait and cabin staff. For reference I am from U K.,
It’s the same on Royal Caribbean in that it’s shared with the behind the scenes staff. You can remove, reduce or increase the auto-gratuities at guest services but we’ve never felt the need to do so on our RCI cruises. We just view it as part of the cost of the cruise and factor it in when looking at the overall cost.

Hi
I don’t put my selves through the horror of a P&O cruise,I enjoy most of my P&O cruises.,,,but if I don’t like the choice in the MDR I will eat elsewhere.
Its nothing to do with P&O cruise itself.,,,it’s the decline in quality and choice in the MDR.
If the MDR was the only eating place on P&O I wouldn’t cruise P&O,,,would you?
Quite simply yes. We started cruising with P&O in 2002 and back then there wasn’t the choice of alternative venues that we have now. I’m a pescatarian and a fussy one at that and P&O have served me very well with my restricted diet - much more so than some of the other cruise lines I’ve sailed with.

I hazard a guess plenty of people happily chose steak and kidney pie and bread and butter pudding regardless
For old times sake etc
I know my late Mum would have as she was a very plain eater and she wasn’t alone in that respect. I read some posts on this board and wonder why the heck some people put themselves through the horror (in their minds) of a P&O Cruise 😂😂😂

Hi
P&O should be embarrassed to put this on a MDR menu,,like your Prawn Cocktail this is food from a age now passed for cruise ship dining. This is school dinner food,,or as my old mam used to say ‘Stodge’.
Pps,I’ve had some lovely Prawn Cocktail on some ships depends whether it’s shrimps (P&O) or prawns (Celebrity or Fred Olsen) and the sauce used.
If that was the full menu I’d agree but it’s only a small selection of it as per the original post. Having done a long cruise in the past we got to the point where we craved ‘normal’ food so whilst it wouldn’t appeal to me as a pescatarian my husband would have maybe appreciated it.
I had a quick mooch through other boards and there are complaints about the standard of food on most of them, including Celebrity and Cunard which goes to show how subjective the perceived quality of food is.

Over the moon for you and your wife and this has cheered me up after having to cancel my upcoming cruise on Iona due to not being recovered enough to travel.
