we just did this. you will want to walk off the ship as early as possible. We took taxis to the Haneda airport. We got luggage tags and boarding passes. We then stored our luggage. We tried to check in bags, in but they would not let us, they told us at the bag drop we had to wait until 12 noon. Finding storage is difficult, but there are 2 places and lockers , I do not know if this could be prearranged, but next time will try to prearrange storage. Then we took the train to Meiju Jingu shrine and shibaya crossing. They are close . we had time to spend at the shrine, we had to time to walk around the crossing / shop a bit , we had time to sit and have ramen and get boba. then return to the airport. We collect out luggage and made our way to the gate without rushing any part of the itinerary. We had a flight from Haneda to LA at 7ish, that i think may be the 625 flight. ( american airlines. ) .
We skipped the transfer ( ship to airport) (cancelled it on board) as it left later than we were comfortable with. I think 915ish disembark, and then not sure how long to collect out luggage and for them to collect everyone to fill the shuttle before departing.
good luck
you can do it!
How much did the taxi cost to Haneda? Good to know about having to store the bags. Where in the terminal are the lockers and what do they cost? Can you use a credit card or just yen. Will have 2 26” and a 19” pilot bag plus backpack.

We will be on the July 27 - Aug 4 sailing and have booked Princess transfer to Haneda. Can you tell me at what time are they scheduling departures. Our flight doesn’t leave until 6:25 pm and plan to take the monorail back into Tokyo for a half day sightseeing on our own. It would be helpful to know how much time we might have.

What is included in a complimentary anniversary celebration. Our anniversary is on the last night of our cruise. Can I ask for the benefits earlier so I can enjoy them?

Will be arriving at Haneda early morning as doing a ship transfer from Yokahama. Flight is not until 6:55 pm. Plan to take the monorail into Tokyo for half day of siteseeing. Flying United. Can I check my luggage early in the day or will I have to rent lockers or use some other storage facility.

As of now, US is requiring negative test one day before travel back to the US. Is there any testing places that do not have to have an appt for a test near the Termini or one that I can make an appt for same. Will be using hop on hop off, so can be anywhere along the route.
Have an early morning flight out of FCO. Can I get tested there the day before if I show my ticket for the next day? Online airport testing info states testing available to ticketed pssengers. Have emailed FCO and they only restated same bit no clarification.

Just off Riviera yesterday. Casino was closed after first night due to exposure to staff. Also entertainment staff were quarantined until last 3 days of the cruise, ours being 14 days. Casino opened last 3 days as well. In the testing of all passengers, I know for a fact that two were quarantined, one for full ten days in her cabin and other person in her cabin did not show positive until later and then was quarantined as well. They were placed in side by side cabins and could converse past balcony partition. Third person in their group was never positive. Second person was required to go to hotel at her expense to complete her quarantine. Know this as fact, since sat next to person quarantined at breakfast yesterday morning.
port changes were like playin wack a mole. No San Juan, extra sea day instead. Testing before Barbados only took minutes and then results to your cabin by end of day. Visited St Marteen as scheduled. Guadalope cancelled for seaday. Departure from Barbados kept dragging on and finally captain announced we were going to stay overnight in Barbados instead of going to Grenada. St Vincent cancelled for seaday as we sailed back to St Martin instead of Martinique. Tortola instead of St Lucia. Finally St Bart’s as scheduled. So my advice to you all is be flexible and roll with the changes. New excursions were offered for changed ports. We just got a cab tour at each of the terminals and at half what the ship was charging. Only place that was a problem was St Bart’s. Cabs hard to find that will do a tour. $130 for 2 but the same for 4. We found some people we knew who wanted to do the same and traveled together. Tendering verrrry slow 25 min to get ashore and long wait in lounge even after 10 am.
enjoy the cruise and remember to roll with the changes!

DJust starting to pack for 1/14 cruise. My husband wants to know if any of the men are wearing jackets to dinner in the main dining room or specialty restaurants?

Thanks for doing this thread! We are on the Jan 14sailing pending negative covid tests next Tues (PCR) and Wed rapid PCR just In case the first results are delayed. All your info has been wonderful. Just wondering, have you been able to book more than one night in the specialty restaurants? We have our allowed 4 booked but would like to enjoy some a second time. We are first time cruisers on Oceania and are looking forward to being onboard.

Many many threads regarding your wine questions are here on the CC Oceania forums- worth some search time. That said, here are the basics.
One of the optional O Life choices is mealtime beer and wine (by the glass from a dedicated/often changing menu). It can be upgraded to the “unlimited” booze Prestige Package (almost all available spirits [but still the same wine-by-the-glass] for $20 pp/day).
Seven bottle package is about $45/bottle + gratuity (mostly $<15 USD retail choices).
Bottles for sale at approx. 300-400% markup plus gratuity (unfinished will be stored/retrieved as needed).
Best onboard deal is ever-changing “bin end list” with discounts of 25-35% +\-.
BTW: O’s published CYA statement is “6 bottles per cabin” of personal wine which is for “in cabin” consumption though you can take it to a public space or dining venue for a $25/bottle corkage fee (that includes gratuity).FWIW: I have never witnessed or heard of anyone being refused whatever amount of personal wine/spirits one chooses to carry onboard (either at embarkation or visited ports where booze sales are allowed). We do longer cruises and often bring a case at the start and replenish along the way.
One caveat: There are the occasional cheapskates who will take their personal booze out of their cabin. With the exception of the wine bottles for which you pay corkage, this is NOT OK! O’s booze policy is generous and O regulars want to keep it that way.
Since we do not have O life as an option, we will either opt for the package or bring our own and pay corkage. What is the gratuity amt? 12% or more?

Does Oceania offer a wine package or do you have to purchase by the glass or bottle? What do they charge for a 7 bottle package? What selection is available?

Will be sailing on Riviera for the first time in January. Are there two shows in the evening and at what
times? Can make my specialty dining reservations soon and want to plan so I will be able to go to the show without rushing dinner.

We just returned fro pm the Edge on Saturday and we submitted our Walgreens ID Now test from Abbott Labs which is a NAAT test. Our results came in about 6 hours. They do the processing in the store so you get a quick turnaround.
Was the test covered my Medicare or your secondary insurance.

Hoping that our Nov 4 sailing on Apex will happen. Can you tell me what time the shows were in the evening. I am assuming it would be the same as Apex

The reason we book so far out is that X and other cruise lines seem to give the best deals when they first release they’re itineraries. Then, later on if they go down in price or short term promotions pop up, we refare them. If they go up, we smile and pat ourselves on the back for booking such a great deal.
Also the aft-facing aqua class cabins go super quick on the M class ships which is another reason we book early. Heck, you can always cancel if a scheduling conflict comes up since there is no penalty before the FPDD. 😎

How soon before sailing can you make your dining reservations?

Thank you all for solving this got me. Will not pursue getting a chip and pin card for the trip.
-
Was wondering if anyone had recently used a chip and signature card for the taxis in Copenhagen or do they really ONLY accept chip and pin cards.
-
Was wondering if anyone had been in Copenhagen recently and if they were able to use a chip and signature credit card to pay for their taxi fare? Will only be in town overnight and wanted to avoid making an ATM withdrawal just to cover our taxi from the hotel to Oceankaj especially since it would not be a definitive amount.
Do the taxis really ONLY accept chip and pin cards?

Were you able to use a Chip and signature credit card for cab fares?

Thank you Danish Viking for all your wonderful info.
We are an older couple (78 & 75) and will be staying near Central station prior to our cruise. We will be taking the train in from the airport upon arrival and will have a 24 hr card. Not too keen about juggling luggage on the bus from city center to the port. If we take the train to Nordhavn station, would we be able to get a taxi to take us the rest of the way to Oceanjak?
If so, what would the taxi fare be and how far is it from there to Oceanjak.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the wonderful coverage of the temple. We have booked a private tour there and are happy to hear about the more gradual path for the way back. Down is not a problem. I apologize for my inquiry about Haneda but the info received was most helpful!
