  1. I ALWAYS decorate my door. We ALWAYS cruise at Christmas and we get lots of compliments. We do the cabin too and our steward always brings his colleagues to see our room. I have recently discovered "Garage Door Magnets" which make it sure easy.

Not sure what to do for my April cruise on Royal, but I will come up with something generic. I often walk down other decks just to see door decorations. Part of the fun in cruising for me.

  2. As far as the cabins not being ready, I first experience that THREE years ago on Regal. Then 2 years ago on Caribbean and then again last Dec. on Royal the cabins were available as normal. I think it's just a case by case matter...ship gets in late, delayed debarkcation, etc.

At least they now seem to have a drop place because when it happened to us 3 years ago, we were stuck in the Piazza with all of our carry-ons, which included many bottles of wine. Was impossible to go to the Buffet or even Alfredo's.

  3. Well I've been watching the cabin availability, hoping for a move over or up-sell offer as it's the first time I've ever booked an Interior. A few days back, Int. cabins were shrinking. Now there are more available than 2 weeks ago! I'll be happy no matter what, but it's the first time my step-daughter has ever sailed Princess and I was hoping to surprise her with an up-grade. 31 days to go.........

  4. First time on Princess, so please pardon my ignorance, but do you have to pay to use the Retreat pool or just the cabanas? Thanks.

Retreat Pool is free and Adult only. There are lounge chairs, so imho, it's not worth paying for the Cabanas as they must be reserved well in advance and you never know what the weather will be like. In our case...waayyy too windy!

  5. Just off the Royal and all they had was buy one and get one for $1. They changed location and times around during the cruise, sometimes, club 6, sometimes crooners, aft bar, and so on and so on.

Thanks! That works for me. Back aboard Royal in April.

  6. Sent an email. Anybody on Royal that can give a report? I was on in Dec. and BOGO was a go. I'm back on in April and would like to plan accordingly, which would be bringing additional bottles of wine on and paying the corkage if no BOGO..

  7. I am famous for over-packing and that is just fine by me! I pay a fair amount of money to cruise and I'm going to enjoy it. But then I still dress up for the theatre and the airplane too! I dress in gowns for formal nights, not just black pants and a blingy top. If that works for you great. I dress for the MDR. I get compliments from crew and paxs. I am fortunate that I can drive to Port Everglades, but even on a land trip to Spain and an Alaskan cruise last year, I still over-packed. I would rather over-pack than be one of those back-packers that you DO see in the MDR. But to each his own.

  8. I have been in MS M211 twice. That is JUST across from your 209. I have M 229 booked in April. First time in an interior and decided to try the sideways lay out. As far as movement being forward and high up...it has never been an issue. The location is very, very convenient to the adult only Sanctuary pool, the Lido deck and even the elevators down to Deck 5, 6 or 7. I love this cabin area on Regal/Royal. Enjoy!!!!

  9. I take a small styrofoam cooler...the good kind like insulin and Omaha Steaks are shipped in. I ask Stewart to keep it filled with ice. Keeps my champagne cold plus I have ice for my drinks. I then give it to Stewart at the end of the cruise as they do not have fridge's in their cabins. I've only ever had one not interested, so I gave it to the bartender at Vines instead.

  10. I'm still hopeful and still waiting to hear in Princess has my sunglasses and binoculars which were left in my cabin on 12/30 and SHOULD have been turned in by Stewart. I was so sick with the flu that morning I barely made it off the ship to drive home. AND I am back on-board in 69 days with the SAME Stewart (presuming his contract did not expire) and I will be addressing it with him directly if Princess has not located my items by then,. They said 4-6 weeks in the email reply to my lost & found claim.

  11. I am from the UK and have sailed on Princess on the Royal and on Celebrity on Infinity. Celebrity was just ok and Princess was exceptional. I would say acts in main theatre were on a par, service good on both but food, variety of entertainment and wowo factor of the ship itself were where Princess won hands down. I would possibly cruise with Celebrity again but only a newish ship and only if the price was good. Whereas I am already booked to cruise again with Princess in the summer and can't wait.

The Infinity was a joke! The decor is horrible. The "atrium/piazza" was non existent. Thank God we'd won the cruise in a raffle. Can't wait to be back on Princess in April and just got off in December. Princess HANDS DOWN!!!

  12. I dress up for dinner EVERY night, but that's just me. I would like to relate a story of how some people were very put out as they had a reservation in the Crown Grill and someone came dressed in shorts, sneakers, etc. Well it turns out that Princess had lost their luggage and it was ALL they had. They had made the reservation at the time of their booking and it was their anniversary. Maybe we should all stop being to quick to judge and just enjoy OUR OWN cruise. What someone does or does not wear is not going to affect my cruise!

  13. Just an FYI...we were on Marina deck on Royal in Dec. (almost at the front/laundry in the back of course), two washers and two dryers......and after washing was done no dryer was free so I went down one deck. The laundry room was twice as big!!! $ washers and 4 dryers. Access from both passage ways. If machines are all taken, check one deck up or down.

  14. I believe that the $99 offer was to introduce us all to the option. We had not yet booked our Christmas cruise so we missed out, and paid $199 for the 3 of us on our 10 day cruise. We received over 100 photos. Well worth it when you consider we used to pay $20 to $25 per picture and had to choose.

I will definitely book it again for my 7 day April cruise.

  15. All 3 of us came down with the flu on our last day of our Christmas cruise. We confined ourselves to our cabin after breakfast at the IC. Never occurred to me to go to the Medical Center and get Tamiflu. Live and learn! If certainly would have been better than the l-o-n-g recovery we all suffered through.
